Chapter 1175: Chapter 615: Extra: She Comes to Settle Accounts with Him 3_2
The four bodyguards immediately withdrew.
Keith Antony stood by the poolside, arms crossed, leisurely watching Alice Robinson who had stopped nearby.
Alice’s eyes followed Chester Robinson.
He cut through the water effortlessly, his lean, strong physique occasionally visible.
She suddenly remembered when she was little...
Sitting by her family’s pool, she would watch him swim every time. Though she was aquaphobic, scared of the water, she loved watching him swim. Those days were really wonderful.
As Alice was lost in thought about the past, Chester had already swum to the edge.
It wasn’t until Chester rose that Alice snapped back to reality.
He wore swim trunks, revealing his perfect physique with abs and V-lines, his wet hair slicked back, accentuating his handsome, profound features.
He approached her and casually took the bathrobe handed by the hotel attendant from behind.
Alice spoke coldly, "I don’t need your help."
Chester merely glanced at Alice before seating himself on a lounge chair by the pool, laying back and closing his eyes, "Is this why you couldn’t wait to come here to me?"
"I don’t need your help, I don’t!!" Alice said, a bit emotional.
Chester remained calm, "Aren’t you in Germany to secure this sponsorship?"
Alice looked at him coldly, "Even if I want it, I don’t need your help!!"
Chester opened his eyes with a smile, "You’ve always tried to treat me as a stranger, yet the way you refuse any favor from me is more like how strangers treat each other. If you truly see me as a stranger with no deep connection, shouldn’t you be grateful when I assist you?"
Not expecting his rebuttal, Alice responded more coldly, "I didn’t ask for your help, so I won’t be thankful. I’ve never accepted help from others without reason, so please take it back."
Chester sat up, laughing as he looked at Alice, "Why don’t you tell me how I should take it back? Should I have the men who taught Rodney a lesson allow Rodney to teach them in return, or should I personally go to Rodney and explain that there’s nothing between us?"
"I could sign another contract with Rodney to terminate the cooperation."
Chester laughed even more amused, "Would terminating the cooperation really stop Rodney from talking about you being my woman?"
Alice glared at him coldly, "Why did you do this?"
"It’s just too much on your mind... I helped you, even if Rodney speaks out, you can still claim publicly that Claud Laurence and I are friends. Why fear misunderstanding?"
"I don’t want Claud to misunderstand."
"If Claud Laurence can’t give you even this bit of trust, how can he be your boyfriend?"
"Don’t deliberately incite."
"You lack confidence in your boyfriend, which shows you two haven’t reached that mutual trust and love between couples."
"Our progress is none of your business."
"Seems I guessed right; your relationship isn’t as solid as I imagined."
Alice was furious, "What exactly do you want?"
Chester smirked, "What if I just want to see you angry like this?"
"You..."
Seeing her grinding her teeth with rage, he finally stopped smiling and said softly, "Alright, I need to change my clothes for a game with an important German official later. Do you want to follow me to change?"
Alice turned away angrily and left.
But after a few steps, she turned back, saying, "I won’t accept help for free; what I owe you, I’ll have Claud repay you when he returns."
Chester was in a good mood, but upon hearing Alice’s words, his face suddenly darkened.
The implication of her words was clear: he was the outsider, and she and Claud were the ones on the same side.
This was indeed the current objective reality, but hearing it made Chester uncomfortable.
Alice was about to leave, but in that second, her hand was seized by a cold, forceful grip.
Alice was forced to turn around, meeting his chilly gaze.
She struggled and asked, "What do you want?" She was actually a bit frightened, for his previously smiling face was now cold and menacing, his entire demeanor emitting an intimidating chill.
Chester held her, his voice icy, "You keep asserting Claud Laurence is your boyfriend; do you really love Claud?"
Alice struggled to pry his hand away, "That’s my business, none of yours."
Chester studied her subtle expressions, laughed coldly, "People fall in love with only one person in their lifetime. You once swore to me that you loved only me. How can you so easily change your heart within just a single year?"
He knew he shouldn’t be saying this to her; she deserved her current happiness. But he couldn’t help his own irritation at hearing her mention Claud Laurence.
His words touched a deep-seated vulnerability in her heart. Despite the pain from his grip, she lifted her gaze to meet his dark eyes, "To you, it’s true that people love only one person in their lifetime. But to me, life is filled with encounters, some you’ll think you love, but they’re just passing passengers. One will only realize who is truly important through constant search and comparison."
Alice didn’t realize she was indirectly highlighting Chester’s deep affection for Rebecca Quentin through her words, though she had no intention to mock him.
Chester’s lips curled into a cold smile, "Are you convinced that a mere passerby in your life was worth staying by their side at any cost?"
"I said you only realize who’s most important through searching and comparison. However, people can sometimes be foolish and make mistakes, right?"
She actually considered their past relationship as a folly and a mistake!!
Chester’s stern face grew even colder.
Alice coldly said, "Let go of me."
As she spoke, he actually pulled her into his arms, tightening his embrace, whispering wickedly, "What if I don’t?"
The familiar masculine scent from memory enveloped her...
She struggled fiercely, yet his grip only tightened.
Until she realized her resistance would only invite greater punishment, she gradually stilled, remarking coldly, "Let go or I’ll definitely sue you."
He laughed, "Sue me for what? Sexual harassment? Remember, you were the one who came to me on your own."
Alice, frustrated, struggled ferociously, "What exactly do you want to do?"
