Chapter 1609: Chapter 808: Sudden Imprisonment (Part 2)

The weapons and equipment were cleverly swapped and all loaded into the Benz. They sat in the back, leaving the garage.

The armed soldiers were still clueless that the items had been taken, still wondering when those people would come.

After safely arriving at the destination, they unloaded everything.

"Good luck to you all!"

The boss left with a blessing. However, the situation wasn’t that simple. When everyone arrived at the bar, they discovered it was run by an old veteran.

"Ha ha, only you. If it were anyone else, I definitely wouldn’t give this chance for disguise. But remember, you only get one shot at it because those people will quickly be able to pinpoint your location, understand?"

After the old veteran said these words, everyone understood. They only had one chance and had to rely on their efforts to seize it.

"Let’s open the computer and check the situation first."

On the computer was only one photo. From the address, they knew it was an abandoned warehouse. However, upon closer inspection of the photo, they couldn’t help but laugh.

"Don’t you think our district chief has a pretty distinctive look? I think we could let him stay in that place for a while longer."

"Exactly, looking like that, he’s basically got the ’villain’ face, haha."

"True, but no matter what, we still have to complete the mission. Let’s not worry about these for now, everyone take a good rest to prepare for action."

...

Just then, the colonel transformed into the head of the special operations team.

"The location has been confirmed. It’s at the veteran’s bar, which I heard used to be an auto bar."

At this moment, Lin Beichen was well aware of his predicament.

"Everyone listen to me, leave this bar immediately, the quicker the better. I believe the military has started moving in to search here."

"Yes!"

"Wait a minute!"

The old veteran tossed over a key directly.

"This is a minivan; I think it should be enough for you. Squeeze in; anyway, you’re technically ’bandits’ now."

After getting ready, everyone quickly got in the car and left in a hurry.

Indeed, about ten minutes after they left, a large force arrived. Those people rushed into the bar only to find it empty.

"Long time no see, old soldier."

The colonel came in, discovering it was a soldier he had once discharged.

"Let’s not waste our efforts. You’re too late; those people are already gone."

Lin Beichen had no time to worry about these things.

They began moving forward slowly, aware that the warehouse was heavily guarded. Getting through would not be an easy task.

"This car is likely being tracked, so the best way is to park it in a safe place once we reach a certain point, then immediately head into the forest."

There’s a small forest in the city.

Once they enter, disguise themselves a bit, they wouldn’t be discovered for a long while.

As expected, those people called up the surveillance soon and saw the vehicle.

"What are you waiting for? Chase them directly!"

But Lin Beichen and his team moved first, quickly entering the small forest.

Of course, things weren’t that simple. Trying to charge directly into the factory, they met numerous difficulties. The factory was heavily fortified; with their current strength, breaking through it was nothing short of a fantasy.

"These guards are all special forces members; if we use the same method, they’ll certainly be more alert than us, and we’ll be at a disadvantage then."

Apparently, those guarding the site were the elite troops of the district, each remarkably skilled.

"But, I have an idea; maybe it’s worth a try."

At this time, one teammate had a clever idea.

"I know a truck driver in this city, he’s a good guy with a strong sense of justice. If I tell him about this, he’s likely to help. Besides, these matters have to be reported to the higher-ups eventually."

"That’s great, what are we waiting for, let’s contact him now."

Hearing this, Lin Beichen smiled with relief.

Sure enough, by evening, a truck slowly drove to the edge of the small forest. They quickly met with the truck driver, exchanging necessary items.

However, based on their understanding of the factory, they realized the situation was far more complex than anticipated; not everyone could smoothly get inside.

"Everyone, pay attention, though this factory is heavily guarded, there’s a shift change every so often, and only one vehicle can enter each time. I’ve already altered the license plate to the required style."

Apparently, Lin Beichen had anticipated that this place would be heavily guarded and knew there was an opportunity for a truck to enter every night. So, he used his social connections to contact the company’s head, making arrangements in advance.

Thus, everyone was ready. Each held a weapon, waiting to execute the rescue mission once inside. If discovered, they’d have to force their way out.

The truck rolled into the inspection area. As usual, the guards checked some documents before preparing to let them through. But one soldier was a bit suspicious.

"Why is the driver different today?"

"Oh, Old Wang wasn’t feeling well today, so I’m taking over for him. I just got back from out of town, and I’m immensely tired."

The truck driver casually lied, unexpectedly fooling the guards into letting them through directly.

The truck slowly reached a designated spot, and the special operations members quickly disembarked, entering the final phase of the mission.

They began searching the area. In the end, they found the district chief inside a trash can.

"Hey, get me out of this trash can! It smells horrible in here, all sorts of random stuff."

The district chief complained, clearly uncomfortable.

"I think we should let him stay a bit longer or close the lid and give him a good shake."

One guy with a mischievous grin suggested.

"Yeah, pour some liquid in there for extra flavor. Then, give the trash can a few shakes. The mixed smell should be unbearable."

Lin Beichen joined in on the teasing.

"Are you done yet?! If you keep this up, I’ll fail you on the examination."

"Alright, alright, we’ll get you out now."

Lin Beichen had to put on a serious face.

"Let’s pull you out first; we’ll deal with you later."

They quickly got ready, got back in the truck nonchalantly, and left the factory. The whole process was surprisingly quiet.

The team members waiting at the original spot only saw these people suddenly show up at the command post.

"How’d it go, my colonel?"

The district chief, looking at the colonel’s shocked expression, roughly guessed what transpired.

"Alright, folks, mission accomplished. This was the fourth round, and you all passed. But the fifth round won’t be that simple."

Only then did the district chief slowly catch on.

"Can you tell us the fifth round’s content?"

"Go rest first; I’ll inform you when the time comes."

The next round is the most brutal step. However, it’s something that cannot be disclosed to them in advance.

They returned to the Seventh District. At that point, Lin Beichen seemed to have vaguely anticipated what might happen next.

"Do you know what the final test is?"

Everyone was still worried about this matter.

"How would I know? I’m not an Immortal. Besides, if it truly happens, we can only choose to face it."

Team members chattered away. Unexpectedly, Lin Beichen suddenly laughed.

"You all haven’t really toughened up yet. Ever heard of torture training?"

After hearing this, everyone shook their heads, indicating they didn’t know.
