Chapter 1608: Chapter 808: Sudden Imprisonment

Lin Beichen led his squad and quickly found a suitable spot.

"This is a coastal city, we can swim in under the radar. But your clothes and shoes are definitely going to be soaked. I’ll get you a few bags now—once we get ashore, you’ve got to grab them fast, absolutely can’t let water seep in."

"Got it!"

With that, they stripped naked and jumped straight into the sea. In the middle of the night, a bunch of guys swimming in the ocean—yeah, it felt downright weird.

To avoid being spotted, they carefully swam forward. What they didn’t expect was that this turned into a full two hours of armed swimming—this was no joke.

When they finally came ashore again, everyone felt incredibly awkward. Doing this kind of thing in public was really embarrassing. With no better option, they had to first find a relatively hidden spot and lie low for the moment.

"Hey! Everyone stay sharp. These places might be blind spots for surveillance, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be suspicious people around. We have to be extra careful."

Half an hour later, the sea breeze had blown them dry. The group quickly got dressed and headed straight into the city.

They were the first batch to make it into the city.

Some others chose to keep wandering in the mountains, and before long they too managed to get in through various methods. Some infiltrated via the sewers, some swaggered in under fake identities, and some simply hid in livestock trucks and got hauled inside.

How everyone looked after entering the city—utterly miserable.

But right now, the top priority was to find that bar as soon as possible. After tossing about for a while, they decided to change clothes first.

"You guys, come with me."

The few people who were reeking of strange smells met up again. Instead of rushing on, they followed one of them into a small house nearby.

"This is my friend’s place. Don’t worry. Use the time to take a shower and put on clean clothes."

After everyone showered and changed, they decided to sleep here for a bit first.

"Listen up and remember this: rest well tonight. Tomorrow morning we move around like normal people. The assessment doesn’t say we have to reach the bar at any specific time anyway."

By now, several groups had gradually converged into three teams. As long as they could work together and reach the designated spot, they were fine.

It’s just that the situation wasn’t so simple.

They’d just entered the city and still needed weapons, ammo, and gear. These things were indeed stored at designated locations as per the rules, but getting their hands on them wouldn’t be easy.

On top of that, the place was heavily guarded. Just getting inside would be tough.

"Can all units hear me?"

This time, they actually used the most primitive method to communicate.

"Using this little group to send WeChat messages—you guys really dare to play it like this. But it’s fine, at least we’ve still got a shot. Listen up, I’ll send our location right now."

Two locations immediately popped up in the group.

"Here’s the deal: I’m sending you a position, you just follow it over. I’m going to another place to pick up something."

After hearing that, everyone braced themselves and began moving slowly according to the pinned locations.

"Alright, you guys hurry up and head to this coordinate too. I need someone to carry out a mission and bring a pile of weapons over there, understood?"

"We’re going with you. Even if we get eliminated, we’re getting eliminated together. We’re your support crew, you know that, right?"

When those few heard Lin Beichen’s signal telling them to pull back, they didn’t overthink it, they chose to keep following him.

"Fine then, if you want to tag along, I’ve got nothing else to say. But remember, you act strictly under orders. I don’t have the energy to clean up your messes. If something really goes wrong and you get yourself eliminated, that’s on you, not us, clear?"

"Clear!"

The group finally perked up and rushed at top speed to the perimeter of an underground parking lot. Only to find the place was indeed on high alert, heavily guarded.

Lin Beichen first scouted the area.

There were cameras everywhere.

"Looks like they only prepared one car for us. What happens after that is anybody’s guess. Since that’s the case, we’ll just have to figure out a way to play it."

Just then, a big Benz slowly drove into the garage.

"Okay, that’s pretty much the situation."

Without overthinking it, Lin Beichen led everyone straight through the mall’s main entrance. They didn’t head directly for the underground parking. Instead, they took a loop through the mall, found a fire exit, and hurried down the stairs to the basement.

This was a basement, right next to the garage. They quickly did some simple disguises and strapped some weapons and gear onto themselves.

"I figure this is about it. Forget everything else, we just need to give it our best shot. In a moment, charge out with me. There’s a car waiting outside to pick us up. And we have to figure out a way to take the weapons and gear with us. Even though the assessment said there wouldn’t be anyone around, if we drive this car out, the consequences could be serious."

As soon as Lin Beichen said that, everyone understood. Looked like they could only rely on themselves to slowly find an opening.

The group walked up to the car, opened the trunk, and took out all the weapons and gear inside. Right then, that Mercedes pulled up to the entrance, and the driver popped open his trunk too.

"This is my turf, relax, nothing’s gonna happen here. I’m the boss around here; they shouldn’t be checking my trunk."

Turns out Lin Beichen had already asked Chen Bin to sort this out, and this driver was his best buddy. The two met up and were perfectly in sync.
