Chapter 909: Human Evolution [Ko-fi Bonus Chapter]

The other Thresholds stared at Threshold VII with exasperated expressions, as though they wondered how this guy had even made it into their Organization and worked his way up from the bottom rank to the Threshold rank within their Convergence Organization.

"We aren’t killing the Tenth Sun, we are going to kidnap him, find out how his Star Energy works, and see if we can take it for ourselves. But we would try to restructure his mind first to fit our needs, though that has a high possibility of failing since even the Emperor’s Mind Manipulation ability failed. Although ours is stronger, we have to create room for error," Threshold XI replied as he continued eating the limb on his plate.

He waved his hand, and a small white cup containing a whitish thick liquid appeared. He poured it over the limb on his plate as though it were a sauce that would improve the taste of his meal... except this whitish sauce was... semen.

Threshold VII frowned as he failed to understand why his comrades were trying to capture the Tenth Sun and restructure his mind instead of simply killing him outright.

"Another Threshold should explain. I can’t be bothered, and I’m sort of having a delicious meal here," Threshold XI spoke again as he moved his fork, lifting a piece of human flesh soaked in fresh, warm human semen into his mouth. He closed his eyes as he savored the taste.

Threshold IV sighed before beginning to explain. "Records show that when the Star Fall Era started, at the very beginning, what spread throughout the world was a white pulse of energy, not golden like the Astra Energy we use. It was also said that with the arrival of this rippling unknown energy, the World Barrier rose, separating us from whatever lay beyond." He paused as he gazed at Threshold VII and asked, "I’m sure you’ve gone to the World Barrier and attacked it, right?"

Threshold VII shook his head. Having not yet slept with all the men on his planet, he didn’t have time for things like testing the World Barrier.

Threshold IV sighed as he mumbled, "What was I expecting?" under his breath before continuing.

"Nobody has succeeded in opening or even cracking the World Barrier... or at least that’s what the old records say, as history can never contain every single detail and truth. But all in all, since Star Energy is the beginning, what if Star Energy is our way out? What if Star Energy is the key to the lock called the World Barrier?" he asked, his tone steady and calm.

It was a massive what-if, but it was the greatest possibility they had at the moment.

Truly... the minds of villains worked according to a different pattern. While many people hadn’t even considered this and were still reeling from the shock of Asher possessing Star Energy and a Star Affinity, they had already taken it a step further and linked it to the World Barrier. They truly were a notorious bunch.

"This is why we will try to restructure his mind by every means possible first before we attempt experimenting with his Star Energy and pulling it out of his body or anything of the sort. After all, every experiment involving Affinity transplantation or extraction has ended in failure. Star Energy and Star Affinity would only be even harder. So, having him on our side makes things easier. The other way makes things harder, and we would lose our only chance at this," Threshold IV stated in finality as he finished explaining.

Threshold VII stayed silent for a moment before replying with a nod and a smile, "I see."

Threshold IV simply clicked his tongue in annoyance as he made a mental note to never explain anything to this fucking guy ever again. The worst part was that he had expected some sort of positive response after giving such an in-depth explanation, only to be met with that famous one-liner.

Seeing Threshold IV’s expression, the others felt like laughing, but they held it in.

"Capturing the Tenth Sun won’t be easy," Threshold VIII stated, his expression steady.

"Indeed it won’t. If we make a move now, we would have to face all the Wargraves, as he would be under their protection, especially the obsessive First Sun... but wouldn’t this be the perfect time to wipe them all out in one fell swoop?" Threshold X asked, her tone becoming colder.

"It is... but don’t forget that we also have Arianna Haellight, and her father is Azazel Haellight, a man on par with Azaron. We don’t even know his current combat power," Threshold V analyzed. "Besides, just because Asher Wargrave and Arianna Haellight are making waves doesn’t mean we should forget the other geniuses. We also have to capture that Buddha guy, make him summon his god, and ask how that being was able to bypass the World Barrier. That way we won’t have to rely solely on the Tenth Sun’s Star Energy, and we would have two options. And also, Isaac Wrath Chillstorm is another genius who could grow to become even more troublesome than his mother," he said calmly as he redirected everyone’s attention toward the other geniuses.

At that moment, everyone understood they had to spread their forces and couldn’t simply attack one side while leaving the others alone. Doing that would only make the remaining sides more guarded, so striking all four at the same time was the best plan.

But they had to choose the perfect timing.

"Threshold V makes a valid argument," Threshold II stated, backing Threshold V’s words. "Securing a way to bypass the World Barrier is more important than launching an all-out assault against the Wargraves," he said calmly. "Our goal of Human Evolution would be further achieved once we step beyond the World Barrier. After all, the combination of Humans and Emovira has already achieved many results, although they are merely good progress," he added.

Indeed, Human Evolution was the truest purpose of The Convergence Organization. It was the reason they called themselves The Convergence.

They believed that humanity had reached its limits for the time being. They believed they couldn’t simply wait for nature to evolve them once again. They believed evolution should be created and engineered, not bestowed after waiting for countless ages like a blessing.

Who knew how many years those of the previous Era had waited before the Star Fall Era arrived and sparked humanity’s evolution? And it had already been twenty thousand years since then, yet not a single new evolutionary leap had occurred.

It was the reason this rank within their Organization was called the Threshold. It was simply because they believed this was humanity’s threshold. But with the perfect combination of Humanity and Emovira, every evolutionary barrier would crumble. And whatever lay beyond the World Barrier would only help them achieve their goal and further their agenda.

But... it was funny how the people who believed most strongly in humanity’s evolution were also the same people who harbored the most disturbing hobbies and cravings, eating raw flesh, drinking blood, practicing cannibalism, raping, watching people burn, drinking semen as though it were juice... Truly, it was ironic.

Rather than simply creating a few hybrids between Humans and Emovira, they aimed to usher in a new era where Homo sapiens would be replaced by a superior species, one possessing the adaptability, instincts, and abilities of the Emovira while retaining human intelligence and civilization.

One could only ask what had made Threshold I conceive such a thought in the first place.

And one could only ask, if this was The Convergence’s goal, what was the goal of the Sinvairas?
