Chapter 745: Outrageous Price [Spacecraft Bonus - ]
With FatelessPen and the Hotel Manager leading the way, they headed towards what seemed to be a reception desk.
"Under the order of the Overlord, we’ve been instructed to reserve the Gentle Hotel’s entire building for the Zarethorne Empire, meaning there is no one within this building to disturb you aside from people from your own Empire," the Hotel Manager spoke in a calm tone.
"Has anyone else from the Zarethorne Empire arrived before us?" Asher asked as he walked. Since the entire building was reserved for the Zarethorne Empire, he wanted to know if anyone had already arrived ahead of them.
"A few, but because of hotel policies, I won’t be revealing the identities of our clients. Even if you all are from the same Empire, your privacy remains our top responsibility and concern," the Hotel Manager replied with a professional smile.
"I thought our satisfaction was your top responsibility and concern," Asher asked with an amused tone as he gazed at the Hotel Manager.
The man simply coughed awkwardly before replying, "We hold both responsibilities to the same scale and standards. After all, how can our clients truly be satisfied when their privacy has been breached?" his tone smooth and practiced, as though he had repeated the line countless times before.
"Nice save," Asher replied calmly as he continued walking. He wasn’t particularly bothered about the identities of those who had arrived before him anyway.
"FatelessPen, would the Principal be staying at this hotel with us?" William asked as he turned his head towards FatelessPen.
FatelessPen thought for a moment before speaking. "While I’m not entirely sure, my guess is that the Principals of each Academy, the Dukes, and the rulers of the other Empires would most likely stay at the Awakener Association. After all, birds of a feather flock together. It’s only natural for powerful people to stay together within the same building," he stated as he walked.
William nodded and said nothing else after receiving his answer.
"What are the names of the Academies of the other Empires?" Asher asked as the question suddenly occurred to him.
FatelessPen smiled faintly for a moment before replying, "Constellation Academy, Astra Academy, and Heavenly Academy."
Asher nearly paused in his tracks as he had just heard the laziest naming sense in existence. He remembered once calling Star Academy’s name lazy, but these three somehow seemed even worse.
"It seems everyone is trying to attribute the names of their Academies to the stars or something," Asher spoke as he walked.
FatelessPen sighed before speaking again. "It’s exactly as you’ve guessed. Our Empire was simply lucky enough to claim the Star Academy name before the other Empires could."
A few students nearby quietly nodded in agreement. Now that Asher had pointed it out, the pattern was painfully obvious. Every Empire apparently wanted to associate itself with the heavens, constellations, or celestial bodies in one way or another, as though the stars themselves symbolized greatness and supremacy.
They soon arrived at the reception desk where the Hotel Manager spoke once more. "Which class of room would you be requiring?"
"The best," FatelessPen stated without missing a beat, because why would they come here for anything but the very best?
"Each of those rooms costs one hundred platinum coins per night, and since there are four hundred and fifty students, that amounts to a total of forty-five thousand one hundred platinum coins, including yourself, of course," the Hotel Manager spoke with a smile that made it seem as though he had just struck an enormous jackpot.
Asher, FatelessPen, William, and every single student present were rendered speechless. They genuinely doubted the price they were hearing. One platinum coin was already considered an absurd amount of wealth by normal standards, yet the hotel was demanding one hundred platinum coins per person and per night. It was downright insanity.
William, Ryaen, and Finch, who had been feeling somewhat wealthy after being given a few hundred platinum coins to spend, suddenly felt incredibly poor.
Some students nearly choked on their own breaths while others stared blankly at the Hotel Manager as though they had just heard the greatest scam in existence. Even several noble-born students found the price outrageous beyond reason.
"I thought you said the whole building was reserved for the Zarethorne Empire. Why are we suddenly paying?" FatelessPen asked as though he were some stingy old man who couldn’t bear to part with his money.
"You misunderstand," the Hotel Manager stated politely. "The building was reserved exclusively for the Zarethorne Empire, but nothing has been paid for yet. Everyone who comes still has to pay for their own accommodations and services." He paused briefly before continuing. "Besides, one hundred platinum coins is entirely worth it. As you know, our Thalvorn Empire is renowned for its technology. There are things within each room that even one hundred platinum coins alone cannot purchase elsewhere, and once you leave the Thalvorn Empire, you may never experience such luxuries again," he stated with the flawless tone of a perfected salesman delivering his finest pitch.
FatelessPen remained completely unmoved, but the same could not be said for the students, who were now burning with curiosity. Whatever existed within those rooms had to be extraordinary if the Hotel Manager could confidently charge such an outrageous amount. Still, none of them dared to say anything. After all, how many households even earned such amounts yearly? Yet now they were being told to spend that amount every single night.
FatelessPen sighed softly. Cindralis hadn’t even given him any money to pay for this, but it didn’t matter. Cindralis already knew that with his ability, he didn’t actually require money in the first place.
As FatelessPen was about to create a massive heap of platinum coins, the Hotel Manager hastily spoke up, "I should remind you that our hotel only accepts card payments. Sorry for not mentioning this earlier," his tone slightly apologetic.
FatelessPen sighed once more. With a wave of his pen, a black card appeared out of thin air as he effortlessly created a card containing unlimited balance of coins within it. He passed the card towards the Hotel Manager, who simply swiped it across a small portable machine within his hands.
The machine beeped softly, signalling a successful payment.
The Hotel Manager returned the card to FatelessPen, who casually tossed it into his space ring. He already knew the Hotel Manager had most likely inflated the prices because of the Inter-Empire Competition, but could he realistically do anything about it? Certainly not. He could only pay. Besides, it wasn’t as though money was an issue for him anyway.
As for the remaining Crownstar Life Rank Instructors, FatelessPen didn’t bother paying for them. They could pay out of their own pockets. After all, every single one of them was ridiculously wealthy and capable of acquiring more money whenever they wished.
With that done, the Hotel Manager began distributing what appeared to be metallic cards, which were simply the hotel rooms’ key cards.
"Please follow me," the Hotel Manager gestured politely before leading them towards an elevator that transported them to the topmost floor. Since they had paid for the very best, the very best naturally existed at the very top.
