Chapter 43: Chapter 43 Greed

"Finally, I found it!"

A satisfied smile appeared on Arun’s face. In his hand was a Unique-Rank Class Book. He had led the hunters in breaking through the palace gate. With his overwhelming strength, destroying it had been an easy task.

However, once inside the palace, they didn’t see a single monster, unlike the chaos outside. For the hunters, it was a blessing.

They immediately spread throughout the palace in search of loot. Although there were valuable accessories made of gold and other precious items, the most valuable treasures were the Class Books.

Soon, they discovered a massive library filled with countless books, including a vast collection of Class Books of various rarities.

Most of them were Common and Uncommon rank, but there were also several Rare-rank books, and even a few Unique-rank ones.

The library had descended into complete chaos as hunters scrambled everywhere. On one side, two hunters were fighting each other over a Rare-Rank Class Book.

"I found this book first!"

"No! I did!"

Suddenly, Arun stepped between them and effortlessly shoved both hunters aside with his overwhelming strength. He grabbed the Class Book and handed it to one of his men.

"Hey! What are you doing, Arun?!" one of the hunters shouted.

"All the Class Books in this library belong to VolcaCorp. You trash can go look for something else in the palace." Arun smirked at them.

After confirming that Arun’s team had already taken all the Class Books from the library, most of the hunters quickly rushed toward other parts of the massive palace, hoping to find another place that contained more Class Books.

Suddenly, as they ran through one of the hallways, they noticed a lone figure standing at the far end. It was a man clad in full knight armor. However, his body looked lifeless as he held a sword in his right hand.

"What is that? An enemy... or one of the knights who used to guard this place?" one of the hunters asked.

Suddenly, the knight slowly raised his head, revealing a pair of pitch-black eyes. Without a word, he lifted his sword and instantly dashed forward. With a single slash, three hunters lost their heads.

"Run!"

The remaining hunters immediately fled. From that one attack alone, they understood just how terrifying the knight truly was.

Arun, who was currently walking through another part of the palace, suddenly heard screams echoing through the halls. He and his team immediately stopped and turned toward the source of the noise.

A group of hunters came running down the hallway, their faces filled with terror. Then, in the next instant, every one of them lost their heads. Their bodies collapsed to the ground as blood splashed across the floor.

Arun’s expression turned serious. He stepped forward and stood in front of his team. Soon, a lone knight slowly walked through the pile of corpses toward them.

"All of you, go search the other areas. I will handle this one," Arun ordered.

His subordinates nodded and quickly left, leaving Arun alone to face the mysterious knight. The knight slowly raised his sword and pointed it directly at Arun. Arun smirked.

"Hopefully, you can finally give me some excitement. I have been bored to death fighting weak enemies here." He immediately charged forward.

BOOM!!

His fist that covered in molten lava, collided head-on with the knight’s sword, sending a shockwave throughout the surrounding hallway.

The knight moved with incredible speed, repeatedly aiming for Arun’s vital points, especially his neck.

However, Arun had already covered all of his weak spots with molten lava, causing the knight’s sword to begin melting the moment it came into contact with the intense heat.

"Is that all you’ve got?! I’m so disappointed!"

Arun slammed his fist into the knight, sending it flying down the hallway. Without giving it a chance to recover, he immediately charged after the knight.

In another part of the palace, the other hunters had also begun clashing with the palace guards. The situation quickly descended into chaos.

"Zane! You’re finally here. Where are the others?" Aleph ran toward Zane, who had just arrived together with Max and the rest of the group. Beside Aleph stood Quinn and Benn Strong.

"Why do you look so horrible, Benn Strong? I can even see bite marks all over you. Were you being chased by dogs or something?" Oscar said while pointing at Benn Strong.

"Shut up! I don’t want to talk about it!" Benn Strong shouted.

He, Quinn, and Otto had barely managed to escape the pack of wolf monsters before making it to the palace.

"We don’t know where Ryuken and Vega are, but I think they will arrive soon. Is Emma here?" Zane asked.

"Yes. She’s currently waiting for you inside. The situation here is becoming more chaotic. Right now, the soldiers of this palace have started attacking us. And each of them looks strange, as if they’re being controlled." Aleph replied.

"Controlled?" Zane eyes slightly widened.

They then made their way deeper into the palace. Before long, they found Emma together with the other hunters from Golden Wing.

Standing at the front of her group were five members of Golden Wing, all equipped with the War Templar class as they held back the palace guards.

Seeing them, Benn Strong clicked his tongue in annoyance. He couldn’t help but feel jealous. Those people had already obtained the War Templar class, while he had fought for so long and still couldn’t get his hands on it.

"It’s nice to see the leader of Mazeltov here." A soft voice suddenly sounded beside Zane. She turned and saw Iris smiling at her.

"I didn’t expect the same from the leader of Golden Wing," Zane replied with a smile.

Max was captivated as he watched the two beauties face each other. And he wasn’t the only one. The surrounding hunters were equally captivated by the sight.

"How about we put our differences aside for now and break through these enemies together? I believe we’re all heading toward the same destination." She was referring to the center of the palace, where the pillar of red light originated.

"I don’t have any problem with that," Zane answered.

BOOM!!

Suddenly, a violent explosion erupted, sending one of the five main tankers flying backward. Everyone immediately looked ahead.

Behind the palace soldiers stood a row of robed figures. Each of them raised their staffs, and blazing fireballs rapidly formed above them.

The War Templar hunters immediately began to sweat. Although they excelled at enduring physical attacks, they were far less effective against powerful magic.

Just then, a powerful gust of wind surged forward, deflecting the incoming fireballs before they exploded harmlessly to the sides.

All the hunters turned toward the source and saw Zane was already floating in the air with streams of wind swirling around her.

It was finally time for the leader of Mazeltov to get serious!
