Claimed by the Mad Lycan King
Chapter 189: NOW, LISTEN TO ME
Seara felt gloomy when she learned Zade had gone to Wvern City without saying anything to her. It was not like she would stop him. Probably, she would try, but at least he would see her first before he ran off somewhere dangerous.
"Where are you going?" Leia asked when she noticed Seara looking presentable. She thought they could watch a movie together until they received new information about their men.
However, Seara had a different idea.
"I have a morning meeting. Leigh said that Ace will lead the morning meeting. I want to talk to him before it." She looked in a hurry. She was running late because she needed to see Ace first.
"Morning meeting?" Leia was surprised. The alphas were still here because Zade told them to stay, while their families were already secured and hidden. He couldn’t risk having them compromised again like Oscar. "Do you want to attend the morning meeting?"
"Yes." Seara went to the door, while Leigh and Lidya followed her.
There would be other warriors who were assigned to Leia even when the two of them were not there, since their priority was Seara.
"Are you sure?"
Seara stopped for a while; she looked concerned now. "Is it... not good?"
Leia immediately realized her mistake. She shouldn’t have discouraged Seara like that. "No, that’s not what I mean." She walked closer to her. "I mean, Zade is not there; are you sure you are going to be alright?"
"Ace will be there. I will be fine." Seara wanted to do something; thus, keeping herself in the loop of what was going on would keep her informed.
Leia wanted to say something else, but she cupped her face and kissed her forehead instead. "Good. Go and do your duty as Zade’s mate."

Azrael rushed to the balcony when he saw that Zade had gone there, but he couldn’t see Zade anywhere. "No way, where is he?" He checked every inch of it, but he couldn’t find any trace of him. "How could he..."
He leaned over to see the street down there. They were on the fourteenth floor; you would die if you fell from this height, yet that monster disappeared into thin air.
"He is not dead."
Azrael was startled when he heard Owen’s voice; he turned around and saw him leaning against the doorframe.
"How can you tell? He is nowhere." Azrael was still looking for him.
"This height is nothing for their kind. They are monsters after all." Owen didn’t give the respect that someone like him should show to the king. "You have to be ready for the speech. People are waiting for you."
Azrael nodded. He also didn’t show any discomfort with the lack of respect from Owen. No matter how high Owen’s position was, he shouldn’t have acted as if Azrael was one of his friends; that was not how it worked.
Even so, Azrael didn’t correct him.
"You are right, that monster will seek me out." He walked back to the room and checked himself in the mirror. "How do you know that?"
"I can read someone easily," Owen replied. He helped Azrael to look more presentable.
"How is Diane? Is she alright? Does your wife say something about her condition?" Azrael’s mind was on his daughter. He only had one daughter, and she had been gravely ill since she was little. She had a heart condition, but recently, her situation was getting worse.
Owen’s wife was a doctor, even though she didn’t work at Wvern Hospital, but he had managed to convince Azrael to take his daughter there, and from what he learned, her condition had improved. He was too busy to check on her, but based on their phone calls, her voice sounded more cheerful than her usual lethargic self.
"She only said Diane is getting better; she only needs to stay there for a few more weeks, and then she will be fine."
"Good. Good." Azrael nodded in satisfaction.
"You have to give your speech now."

Diane watched her father on the screen; a malicious smirk appeared on the corner of her lips. She stared at her hands and was thrilled to have them again.
Even though this woman was not as beautiful as she was, she was not ugly, and more importantly, she was the daughter of the king of this country. How great was that?
"We need to fight against the monsters! They are a threat to our country!"
Diane lifted her head to look at the king, who gave a fiery speech about the threat that the monster brought to this country in front of hundreds of thousands and millions of people in the media.
She felt mixed feelings when someone talked about hunting down and killing the shifters, but she tried not to take it seriously.
After all, she had gotten what she wanted and more...
And when she changed the television channel, someone entered the room quietly; he had been coming over a few times and couldn’t understand the word ’no.’
"I said, I don’t want to see you again!" Diane threw the remote in her hand at the sight of Oliver. No, she knew who he actually was: Daven.
He had a different face now, just like her. They both were given a second chance to survive the calamity that the mad Lycan king brought upon their pack.
However, it didn’t mean Eudora would give a second chance to Daven, who had left her alone to die in the Lycan’s dungeon. He didn’t even try to save her.
On the other hand, Oliver’s expression remained cold when he caught the remote control that she hurled at him.
He walked closer toward Diane and slapped her so hard that she thought she would break her neck. It would be a problem, since the human body was so fragile, and it would take a long time before she could heal.
"How dare you?!" Diane roared angrily.
"I have had enough of your tantrum. Now, listen to me."
