Claimed by the Mad Lycan King
Chapter 180: A MISSERABLE LIFE
Daryl was next to Matt when he said that. He had explained in the gentlest and easiest way that Alpha Oscar was gone. He was no longer with them, but he was going to see him for one last time.
"He is not my father," Matt said. He lowered his head as he held back his emotions, thinking about how to break this news to his mother.
"Do you have a mate?"
"No, King Zade."
Zade nodded. "Hide your family and give a few people false information about their whereabouts. Only you know that—only you." Zade emphasized that, and Matt understood.
It meant that not even Daryl should know about his family’s whereabouts. "Understood, King Zade."
"Do it now."
Matt took a deep breath. He glanced at the door one more time before he left with Daryl, and when both of them had gone, the door across to the room where they held Oscar was opened.
"Are they legit?" Zade asked Seara, who walked into the corridor with Little Paw close to her.
"Yes, they are." Seara caressed the back of Little Paw’s ear as the wolf growled at the door where Oscar was.
"Can I talk to her for a while?" Seara asked Zade’s permission to talk with Oscar—no, it was Enid. It was a bit creepy knowing the devils could use other beings as hosts, ripping one soul to occupy another.
It was an ability they had only just learned about, since it had never appeared before.
"I will be fine. Little Paw will be with me; moreover, he is tied with silver, right?" Seara tiptoed and kissed him on the lips. "Please," she pleaded with him.
"Fine. Only five minutes. If he tries to do something funny, I will kill him right away, and you can forget the plan that you suggested to me."
Seara kissed him again. "Okay."
But before Seara could enter the room, Zade grabbed her by the elbow and kissed her. He cupped her face and bit on her lip before he let her go. "You only have four minutes now."
"Hey, that’s not fair!" Seara protested.
Zade didn’t budge; he leaned against the wall in the empty corridor and crossed his arms. "Three minutes."
Knowing she couldn’t reason with him, Seara entered the room with Little Paw. The wolf growled viciously at the man on the bed.
"I think you can sense it too, right? But you can’t take my job. This is the only way I am useful." Seara scratched Little Paw behind his ear and told him to stay near the door as she approached Oscar.
"Seara." His voice was thick with rage as he said it, directed at the woman standing before him.
"Enid," Seara greeted, mirroring the tone as she stood a short distance away from her. "How can you end up like that?"
There was a remaining fear that Seara tried to fight back. Being bullied by them for so long had engraved fear so deeply that, even when Seara knew there was nothing Enid could do to hurt her again, the fear lingered in her heart.
Coupled with the dreadful feeling, which Seara sensed from the devils, it was enough to bring back unpleasant memories.
"Do you think you can win? You can kill me now, but you will never be able to live a happy life." Enid grinned.
"You will not live long enough to see whether I will live a happy life or not. But I can see the end of yours." Seara nodded at the window, which showed Enid’s reflection. "Do you have a happy life now with that face?"
Enid followed Seara’s line of sight, and she saw her own reflection.
Alpha Oscar was not so bad, but the face of a battle-hardened alpha who had reached his forties was not exactly the face that Enid wanted for the rest of her life.
"I wish I could beat you up as you did me years ago."
"You don’t have the guts to do that." Enid pressed her lips together tightly as she threw a dagger look at Seara.
"Yes, maybe I can’t do that, but I can still do this..." Seara took out a folded knife from her pocket, something that Jeremy gave her for protection, and then moved closer toward Enid.
"What do you want to do?!" Enid tried to avoid Seara, but she had slashed Oscar’s cheek so deep that black blood oozed out from the wound.
Enid screamed at the top of her lungs because of the pain.
The wound on her hand was still bleeding, and now it was festering. The downside of having the body that was not her own was that she couldn’t use her healing ability. Once the body was wounded, it would decay.
Enid wouldn’t die, at least not quickly, until she had fulfilled her purpose for Seara and Zade.
"You are crazy! You bitch!" Enid spat at Seara, but she had moved further away from her.
On the other hand, Seara watched Enid in pain, and she found out she felt nothing for her. She had no compassion for the people who had let her go through hell in her life.
Somehow, seeing the pain that Enid had to endure brought a smile to her lips.

The corridor was empty when Matt came closer to the door where his father was being held. He looked around before he entered the room.
"Dad?" Matt called for his father. "Dad, are you okay?" He approached the bed and found Oscar was sleeping, curling himself up, with black blood still oozing from the wound on his cheek.
"Matt?" Oscar opened his eyes and sobered up immediately when he saw his son. "Matt, you are here?"
"Come on, Dad. I will get you out of here." Matt untied the silver chain that restrained his father. Somehow, he had gotten the key for it.
"Great, great. Get me out of here, Son."
Matt gritted his teeth and concentrated on his task.
