City’s Best Divine Doctor
Chapter 2343: Visiting Li Zhiguo and His Wife
Chapter 2343: Chapter 2303: Visiting Li Zhiguo and His Wife
For Ye Qiu, any major is the same. English, fine arts, even the arts-related majors—those are all a piece of cake for him.
But next, aside from arranging his own enrollment, he also had to get things sorted one by one for the others around him.
It’s not like this teachers’ college is really all girls—actually, about one third of the students are guys.
Still, once Ye Qiu walked in here, he genuinely felt the campus had that “yin flourishing, yang declining” vibe.
“Senior Yang, really, thank you. If there’s nothing else, I’d like to head off first.”
“Where are you going?”
Where?
Ye Qiu had plenty of places he could go, like that luxury place in Zi Garden.
Since things here at this university weren’t settled yet, naturally there was no need for him to hang around.
“Just going to look around.”
Yang Lishan found it very strange. Even though Ye Qiu was a student of Jin University, was he really that confident about transferring into this school?
Anyway, this teachers’ college ranked in the top three among normal universities.
But compared to Jin University, it really was a lot weaker.
Back when Yang Lishan and Ye Qiu went to where he’d parked, she’d already seen that he’d driven over in a luxury Land Rover, which meant Ye Qiu had money.
In her eyes, this Ye Qiu not only had money, he was very likely some rich second-generation.
If his grades were good and he also had money, then in Yang Lishan’s view, this junior was something else.
Ye Qiu got into the car, backed out, and drove off. As he headed out through the gate, Yang Lishan was still standing there, and a few girls from her class had already walked over.
“Yang Lishan, who was that just now?”
“Not telling you. I’ll let you stay curious.”
This teachers’ college had lots of girls and few boys, so for the guys who wanted to chase girls, it was honestly way easier than at those science-and-engineering universities.
Plus, by ratio, the beauties at this university were definitely much more numerous.
As Ye Qiu drove away, he called Li Qianqian.
“Qianqian, I’m coming over to see you.”
Li Qianqian had already arrived at Jiaotong University. She’d originally wanted Ye Qiu to be at the same university as her, but unexpectedly, Ye Qiu had gone over to the teachers’ college.
Now that Ye Qiu had come here, the moment Li Qianqian saw him, she was clearly a bit angry.
“I told you to come to Jiaotong, why did you still go to the teachers’ college?”
“It’s closer to my new place.”
New place?
“Where?”
“Yan Family Garden. I’ve already bought it. It’s currently being renovated, and I can move in in about two months.”
Yan Family Garden?
In East Sea City, that was a top-tier luxury estate—though Li Qianqian wasn’t all that familiar with it.
But she and her parents in East Sea had already moved into the municipal government’s welfare apartments.
It wasn’t like Jinling over there. Here, every inch of land was worth its weight in gold. Those government welfare apartments were a bit old, but they were close to city hall, so going to and from work was convenient, and the couple, Li Zhiguo and his wife, had no plans to move elsewhere.
“How much did it cost?”
“A bit over a billion.”
Over a billion?
Li Qianqian was a little dazed.
She knew Ye Qiu was very rich, but she hadn’t thought he was rich to this extent.
“So other than you coming over, will the others be coming too?”
“Pretty much all of them.”
Right now, Ye Qiu’s idea was to pay a visit to the couple, Li Zhiguo and Lu Xiuyu.
After all, in future business dealings, there might be matters where he’d need Li Zhiguo’s help.
All of Li Qianqian’s transfer procedures had now gone through.
Li Qianqian was already a third-year student here, still in the same major, though some courses might be different.
Besides her, her two close friends, Zhou Muling and Han Xiaowan, had also come over.
“So you really enrolled at the teachers’ college?”
“Yup, I’m planning to study there. I heard the English department over there has a higher beauty ratio, so I’m planning to major in English, and start over from freshman year.”
“You bastard!”
Li Qianqian punched Ye Qiu directly. This bastard already had so many beauties around him, and he still thought it wasn’t enough?
Right now, Li Qianqian seriously doubted Ye Qiu’s real motive for going to study at the teachers’ college.
But at this point, she really had no way to control Ye Qiu on these matters.
“I’d like to visit your parents this afternoon.”
“Of course you should.”
In the morning, Ye Qiu and Li Qianqian had lunch at Jiaotong’s cafeteria. After lunch, since Li Qianqian still had classes in the afternoon, Ye Qiu didn’t stay.
Once Ye Qiu left on his own, he received a call from Liu Mingrong of the teachers’ college.
“Student Ye, in principle we can’t approve your transfer to our school, since you didn’t apply through the proper channels. However, given your excellent university record, the school has unanimously agreed to let you transfer in.”
“Director Liu, that’s great. But what about my other classmates?”
“Regarding that, our university still needs to discuss it.”
Still needs discussion?
Ye Qiu chuckled.
“Director Liu, please pass a message to your president for me: if your school agrees to let my other classmates transfer in as well, I’m willing to donate fifty million for your university to build another library.”
Fifty million?
That was no small sum.
“Student Ye, are you serious?”
“Of course I’m serious.”
“Then I’ll discuss it with the school right away.”
When you have money, things are different. Even at those famous foreign universities, tons of tycoons make donations, and when their sons and daughters want to enroll, it’s not exactly difficult.
For this teachers’ college, fifty million was actually quite a lot.
After Ye Qiu hung up, he planned to go back tomorrow to handle the related procedures.
Now he wanted to go see Li Zhiguo and Lu Xiuyu, so he was thinking about what gifts to bring them.
Since Li Zhiguo held high office, and now was in East Sea, unlike back in Jinling, Ye Qiu knew he had to be careful about appearances.
Ye Qiu went to the market, took a tour, and didn’t buy much else—just some top-quality tea leaves—then drove over to where the couple lived.
Li Qianqian had already called her parents to tell them that Ye Qiu would be visiting tonight.
When Ye Qiu drove up to the compound, the security guard at the gate needed to register his identity.
“I’m the boyfriend of Li Zhiguo’s daughter.”
Li Zhiguo was a vice-mayor, and this young man driving a Land Rover was his daughter’s boyfriend, so of course the security guard didn’t dare look down on him.
He hurriedly finished registering Ye Qiu’s information, and after Ye Qiu drove in, he found that there were still quite a few parking spaces. He picked one and parked.
Then he sat in the car and waited.
Once he confirmed that Lu Xiuyu had gotten off work and come home, Ye Qiu picked up the tea he’d bought and prepared to head upstairs.
Back in Jinling, Ye Qiu had rarely come to visit the two of them.
Now that he was in East Sea, this was his first time coming over to pay his respects.
He walked up to the door and rang the bell.
Very soon, it was Lu Xiuyu who opened the door.
“Ye Qiu, you’re here.”
“Auntie, I specifically came to see you two.”
After Lu Xiuyu let Ye Qiu in, it turned out that Li Zhiguo wasn’t off work yet, and Li Qianqian hadn’t come back either. In this somewhat old government welfare apartment, it was just Ye Qiu and Lu Xiuyu.
Still, the unit looked to be over a hundred square meters, and with just two people living here, it was quite comfortable.
