City’s Best Divine Doctor
Chapter 2181 - 2141: One Side Is Heaven, the Other Side Is Hell
Arriving at Chinatown here, Ye Qiu first went to find a motel or hotel to stay with the two women.
The buildings here are not very tall, and mainly operated by Chinese immigrants.
Compared to those hundred-meter-high hotels, these are definitely much shorter.
However, Ye Qiu still likes it here, mainly because it has the domestic atmosphere.
After inquiring at several motels, it turns out it isn’t the peak season nor the off-season. Accommodation costs aren’t very high, though this area itself isn’t cheap.
He rented a room and went up to the second floor. Ye Qiu planned to share a room with Miranda, while Xia Jing has her own room.
As for the security issues in Las Vegas, it might not be as good or as bad as imagined.
After all, wealthy people from around the world often come here to gamble; if security was an issue, perhaps no wealthy people would dare to come.
After settling in, the hotel front desk mentioned that valuables should be kept with you or handed to the front desk for safekeeping.
Currently, aside from wallets, Ye Qiu and the two women have no valuables.
As for their clothing, it’s unlikely any thief would want to steal them.
Coming down from upstairs, he waits for Xia Jing to come down.
For some reason, even though she can’t stand Ye Qiu and Miranda being intimate every night, she wants her own room but now fears sleeping alone for some reason.
Previously, Xia Jing never felt this way. She’s confused about why she’s changed.
She truly can’t figure it out.
Coming downstairs and seeing Ye Qiu and Miranda waiting, the three leave the motel to explore Chinatown and have lunch here.
This Chinatown seems newly expanded from the small-scale Huaxia City in the 90s to the sizable Huaxia City today.
Here you can see signs everywhere in Chinese; it feels similar to small towns back home.
And the buildings aren’t tall; you can see far at a glance.
Supermarkets, small malls, department stores, pharmacies run by local Chinese immigrants, various restaurants, eateries, can all be seen here.
Otherwise, it’s not much different from the Chinatowns in San Francisco or New York.
Around eleven o’clock, they find a shop claiming to be an authentic Sichuan hotpot restaurant. The three go in, find seats, and notice quite a few white and black people also eating hotpot.
They converse in English or other languages, which Ye Qiu understands.
However, from the conversations, Ye Qiu learns that many are from Mexico or of Mexican descent.
Judging by their complexion, they differ slightly from real white people, with a somewhat darker skin tone.
Ye Qiu doesn’t pay much mind to them.
This trip to Las Vegas.
One reason is to check out the casino scene, and another is to make some money here.
There’s no quicker place to make money than here.
When the waitress brings the menu and talks to Ye Qiu and the two women, through her speech, Ye Qiu feels she might be from Hong Kong.
"Are you from Hong Kong?" Ye Qiu asks.
"Yes, sir." The waitress responds.
Ye Qiu hands over the menu to the two women, who order over a dozen items, fearing they can’t finish them all.
Of course, with hotpot, the key lies in the broth and sauces, then the freshness of the main and side dishes. If not fresh but refrigerated for too long, such dishes wouldn’t be good for hotpot.
However, here the meats and vegetables are all fresh; those uneaten today will mostly be discarded.
Thanks to America’s stringent food regulations.
They dare not covertly sell expired food; otherwise, being reported or investigated would incur unaffordable penalties.
This aspect reassures Ye Qiu.
Not long after, the dual broth is brought over, and Ye Qiu can tell from the base whether it’s authentic.
Different places in China have various hotpot styles, though Sichuan hotpot might be the most renowned.
Ye Qiu believes the key largely lies in the broth and sauces.
Broths and sauces vary by establishment, sometimes even secret recipes outsiders don’t know.
Ye Qiu checks the clear and spicy soup bases and finds them satisfactory.
As for sauces, you can prepare your own or have the waitress bring some.
As the broth starts heating, the ordered meats, including beef, lamb, turkey, are partially placed inside.
They keep eating hotpot until after 1 p.m., with Ye Qiu finding the taste quite good, although not perfectly aligned with the self-proclaimed authentic hotpot flavor.
Still, enjoying such hotpot abroad is impressive.
When paying and leaving, Ye Qiu plans to return to the motel to rest, then visit Las Vegas’ casino tonight.
The casino is most lively at night.
Returning to the motel, Ye Qiu and Miranda go into one room, Xia Jing to the adjacent room.
Seeing them, Xia Jing thought they’d be intimate even during the day.
It wasn’t until after 5 p.m. that Ye Qiu called Xia Jing, urging her to get ready and freshen up for a buffet and casino outing.
Xia Jing had only napped for two hours and awoke. Then she sat and played on her phone, watched TV.
Upon receiving Ye Qiu’s call, she showered, changed clothes, and put on simple makeup.
Coming downstairs, she finds Ye Qiu and radiant Miranda waiting for her.
Las Vegas is not only one of the world’s top four casinos but also a world-renowned food culture hub; cuisines from various countries can be found here.
The buffet here is alleged to be the world’s most famous buffet.
Ranging from low to high-end, even buffets costing thousands of US dollars per person.
Ye Qiu plans to dine at a high-end buffet in one of the tallest buildings at MGM Grand Plaza.
This buffet costs three thousand US dollars per person, but reportedly offers all kinds of exquisite, high-end dishes.
Three thousand US dollars equates to the minimum wage of a typical American; thus, not cheap at all.
Totaling almost ten thousand for three people, a sum many wouldn’t even contemplate.
MGM Grand Plaza is the largest entertainment plaza in the Gambling City, situated at the intersection of Las Vegas Boulevard and Tropicana Avenue, completed by late 1993.
The hotel features emerald glass exteriors, distinct architecture modeled after 18th-century Italian Florence villas. The interiors themed Hollywood, South America, Casablanca, and Desert Oasis.
Especially luxurious are the bathrooms paved with Italian marble; entering sees the Italian marble highlighting whimsical decorations, dazzling, opulent.
It retains the ruggedness and enthusiasm of westward expansion; its charm evokes the frontier era: casino owners are akin to kings, controlling beauty and riches; possibly the most structureless society globally.
A gigantic gold lion surrounded by fountains stands at the hotel entrance, symbolizing the hotel’s domination and pride, embodying "Entertainment Capital" prestige.
Ye Qiu and the two women arrive by taxi, disembark, and are truly amazed by the sight.
He quickly recalls the representative meaning of Las Vegas.
On one side lies paradise, the other hell.
