Chapter 2175 - 2135: A Friend’s Grandson

  • Next Chapter

This Hong Wu Ye was previously an association leader, had close ties with China, was a councilman in Chinatown, and owned a company, making his ties in black, white, and red realms quite significant.

Judging by the Chinese Daily, this Hong Wu Ye’s identity is indeed not simple.

How could someone like this not have made any enemies?

After finishing the Chinese Daily, Miranda and Xia Jing had ordered the morning tea pastries, along with Longjing and chrysanthemum teas.

Ye Qiu put down the newspaper, realizing he needed to visit this Hong Wu Ye.

Not long after, a waitress brought over the tea items that the two women had just ordered, which belonged to Cantonese morning tea and tasted quite good.

About an hour later, Ye Qiu received another call from Robit.

After Ye Qiu told Robit the address of this teahouse, ten minutes later, he saw Robit in a suit coming over with a younger man.

As Ye Qiu waved them over, Robit and the young man walked over.

"Good morning, Mr. Ye," Robit greeted.

As he had Robit and the other sit down, Robit said, "Mr. Ye, this is my half-brother Babbitt, he’s a top student at Harvard University."

This man was surprisingly also a top student.

After nodding to each other, Ye Qiu said, "You two can start with breakfast first."

Summoning a waitress to order tea items for them, Ye Qiu said, "Robit, if you think there’s no problem with our cooperation, then you can call in a lawyer to sign the contract, and I’ll transfer the remaining money to your company’s account."

"Of course, no problem," Robit hurriedly said.

It was clear that this young man could transfer a hundred million without batting an eye, meaning he was indeed very wealthy, and working with someone like that was naturally best.

However, Robit had one condition, that he didn’t want Ye Qiu to interfere with his company’s affairs.

"Mr. Ye, I don’t want you to interfere with the company’s affairs."

Robit had mentioned this to Ye Qiu yesterday.

Ye Qiu certainly didn’t have time to interfere.

"That’s fine, I’m heading back to the country in a few days, I wouldn’t have time to meddle in your affairs. Just make the company bigger."

As the Robit brothers finished eating, they went to a Chinese law firm where contracts were drafted according to American and San Francisco law, based on their requests, in triplicate.

Once this contract had filled names and fingerprints, it would have legal effect.

After receiving the company’s bank account number, Ye Qiu said, "Robit, I’m heading back to Silicon Valley this afternoon to take a look."

As for what Ye Qiu was going to look at, Robit did not know.

After the Robit brothers left with the contract, Ye Qiu knew he had to visit Hong Wu Ye.

In fact, whether Hong Wu Ye lived or died had nothing to do with him.

However, he knew that saving Hong Wu Ye might be beneficial to him.

According to the newspaper he just read, Hong Wu Ye was rushed to a major hospital in San Francisco from the nearby Red Cross Hospital last night for treatment.

Now, Ye Qiu was planning to go there with the two women.

Leaving Chinatown, he hailed a taxi and got off at the hospital entrance.

Ye Qiu found that American hospitals were different from domestic ones; the more famous and powerful domestic hospitals were, the more crowded with people, patients, and their families.

But in America, whether famous or not, hospitals were quiet.

Because patients had to make appointments in advance, the number of patients visiting hospitals each day was fairly consistent, without sudden increases.

And compared to Huaxia’s population, America’s population was much smaller.

Ye Qiu led Miranda and Xia Jing inside.

Upon entering the lobby, it was very quiet, with only a few doctors and nurses passing by, and rarely any patients or their families.

Ye Qiu led the two women to the reception, where a tall blonde nurse in a uniform was sitting and reading.

"Hello, I would like to know which room Hong Wu Ye is in?"

Ye Qiu asked.

Hong Wu Ye?

The young blonde nurse looked up to see a young Chinese-looking man and knew he must be there to visit Mr. Hong.

After giving Ye Qiu a location,

Ye Qiu and the two women headed to the third floor.

Sure enough, upon reaching the ICU room’s door on the third floor, they saw many men sitting quietly outside.

These men were all Chinese.

Wearing suits or casual wear.

The three’s arrival didn’t attract much attention.

When Ye Qiu arrived there, he knew that Hong Wu Ye’s condition was probably still serious, yet to pass the critical phase, or he wouldn’t still be in the ICU.

According to the newspaper, the man had been shot five times, including once in the head and once in the chest, but had survived.

However, regardless, gunshots to the head and chest were not minor injuries.

"Who are you? What are you doing here?" Seeing Ye Qiu approach, carrying a bouquet and stopping at the room entrance, the Chinese men outside became very alert.

Having been severely injured once, Hong Wu Ye shouldn’t be subject to any more sneak attacks.

The San Francisco police also had staff come over initially, and only left after confirming no more threats.

"I’m the grandson of a friend of Mr. Wu."

A friend’s grandson?

He looked unfamiliar to them.

They felt Ye Qiu didn’t seem familiar!

"How can we be sure you’re Mr. Wu’s friend’s grandson?" asked a leading middle-aged man skeptically.

Ye Qiu casually said a few words, surprising them and making them think this young man’s identity might indeed be unusual.

"Mr. Ye, can you really save Mr. Wu?"

"My grandfather was friends with him; why would I harm him?"

Ye Qiu said coldly.

Seeing the two young women beside Ye Qiu, they sensed that this young man was unlikely to pose a threat.

Neither was there any murderous or violent aura about him, suggesting he wasn’t there to harm Hong Wu Ye.

After no longer doubting Ye Qiu’s identity, the middle-aged man hurriedly found the attending physician, and once inside the ICU room, they saw Hong Wu Ye lying on the bed with medical tubing, his face pale as death, devoid of blood.

"Mr. Ye, can you really cure Mr. Wu?" the middle-aged man asked again.
