“However, we are not someone that can be easily provoked either,” he then smirked before continuing. “If it is before, then we may have some problems, which will also give those guys eyeing us from the dark and waiting for the right opportunity to take action to accuse us of a bunch of nonsense.”

“Unfortunately for them, those from the Black Serpent Mafia have gotten involved this time, which gives us the right to move against them.”

“Regardless of their reason, having contact with the Black Serpent Mafia is quite sensitive right now, especially when we are currently at war with them.”

“Even the World Government will side with us since there is clear evidence that the Black Serpent Mafia is involved with the Voidwalkers, who were the common enemy of the world.”

“We all have the right in the world to destroy these guys without thinking about any consequences – even without getting our ancestors involved.”

Rose Gold Island, one of the main islands of the Coralara Archipelago, was also one of the two main hubs for trading between multiple groups, such as sea adventurers, pirates, and mercenaries.

This was also where one of the Black-Market Organization’s main secret bases was located.

Underground, a metal door was suddenly swung open, and a bulky guy entered.

There was a person lazily leaning on the sofa a few meters away from the metal door, who suddenly snapped out of his sleep due to the loud sound.

“Lazing around, huh? Don’t you remember what the boss said when he ordered us to keep an eye on the kid that they had brought a few days ago?” asked the bulky guy after seeing the latter.

The other guy groggily rubbed his eyes while getting up. “Oh! It’s just you.”

After a while, he raised his head, revealing a pair of eyes with strange pupils. “The boss has already ordered us to move all the goods from this base to our main base. There seems to be something big that is going to happen, which is why we are preparing for it.”

“Over half of the goods have already been moved out, alongside the most important ones. What is left here is nothing but a bunch of secondary goods that can be sold outside.”

He then paused, seemingly thinking about something before continuing. “I am not sure about this either, but it seems like the higher-ups are thinking of abandoning this place or at least turning it into some sort of special prison to hold some captives or host some informants.”

The bulky guy gave the latter a scrutinizing look before saying. “Don’t change the topic, Argus. I am asking if the kid has spoken out about the inheritance of the Dark King and the other matter concerning the other organizations.”

“The other branch has transferred the kid here because of you. They want you to dig any kind of information from the kid through those abilities of yours.”

“They seem to be in a rush because the Black Serpent Mafia has set its eyes on him. I am not sure about his connection with them, but it seems like it is quite important to them, which is why they are starting to make their move.”

He then paused for a moment before pointing up. “I am not sure about it either, but it seems like it is quite a big deal. Those guys are starting to make their presence known upstairs.”

“They do not care about hiding their tracks either, openly provoking our shops even though fully knowing that we are their owners.”

The guy, who was called Argus, just shrugged his shoulders. “The kid is still doing fine. Since he has been transferred into our care, we have been taking good care of him as per the boss’s orders.”

He then paused for a moment, thinking about something, before continuing. “However, I must admit that the kid is quite cautious.”

“He is only dropping quite a few hints about what we want from him. He only feeds us with little bits of information that are neither useless nor too useful, making it hard for the team leader to decide what to do with him.”

“He is quite smart for understanding his current situation. He knew that he could be thrown out like a useless piece of trash once the organization had gotten whatever they needed from him.”

Hearing this, the bulky guy scoffed. “Heh! He is only delaying the inevitable!”

Argus shook his head. “In my eyes, he is just doing what he can to preserve his life for as long as he can, and it is quite effective.”

“Don’t you think that the higher-ups are starting to lean toward keeping him alive and turning him into a decent agent of our organization? Who knows if he will also end up like us?” he added.

Hearing this, the bulky guy went silent for a moment before nodding his head. “I can’t deny that either.”

“The boss has ordered his transfer here because it is easier to defend against the Black Serpent Mafia in this place. After all, our influence here is quite powerful. Even if a huge battle takes place here, most of the powers within here will help us to defend their bases, which will be more favorable for us.”

He then paused for a moment, thinking about the words that their boss had told them before continuing. “I am not sure what kind of negotiations the higher-ups are making, but I can tell that it is not going well, especially since the boss has told us about the multiple transfers that we have been doing these past couple of weeks.”

A few moments later, he seemed to have recalled something and turned to the bulky guy. “Hadeon, what about the other matter that the team leader has entrusted to you?”

Hadeon, the bulky guy, thought for a moment before shaking his head. “I am not sure either. Those suspicious guys lurking in the islands seemed to have disappeared without a trace. It is as if they have never been there in the first place.”

“They are quite skilled, though. Not only are they able to dodge our surveillance, but they have also managed to escape from the other guys that are scattered throughout the area.”

“I am not sure if they have pulled back already, or if they are among the people that the Black Serpent Mafia has dispatched to mess with us.”

“After all, aside from the members of the Black Serpent Mafia, who are creating trouble from time to time, no other foreigners or suspicious groups appear on any of the islands.”

He then paused for a moment before continuing. “However, we still can’t overlook the possibility that they manage to find a good place to hide from us, especially if they have some accomplice in any of the islands.”

“But you don’t have to worry about that. I have already told our people to keep an eye on this matter and even asked some inspectors to pay a visit to any suspicious groups that appear just recently.”

He then paused for another time before asking. “Speaking of which, where is the team leader? Why is he not here?”

“We went to see the boss. We have gotten some pretty decent information from the kid earlier. He wants to ask a few people to verify its credibility. I think he needs at least two special units for the mission this time,” answered Argus.

Hearing this, Hadeon could not help but frown deeply before asking. “Another information? Are you sure that it requires a special unit for? What if it is another useless info? Just like the other day?”

Argus shrugged his shoulder. “That is for the team leader to decide. It is not like we have not gained anything from the information that the kid has provided us. All of them have decent credibility. It’s just not as exaggerated as we are expecting.”

Hearing that, Hadeon nodded before suddenly standing up. “I understand.”

After that, he started walking toward the inner rooms.

Seeing this, Argus suddenly raised his brows before asking. “Where are you going? The training room is on the other side.”

“I will train later,” Hadeon paused before turning to Argus. “I am planning to enjoy the new girl that has been transferred here before the others get the taste of her.”

Hearing this, Argus further deepened his frown before saying seriously. “That girl is a bit odd-… dangerous even.”

“I am not sure where the people outside have found here, but I do not like the vibe that she is giving. I don’t even know why they have not brought her to the headquarters instead,” he added.

Hadeon shrugged his shoulders while answering. “That is not important. All I can see is that she is quite fine.”

After that, an extremely perverted look suddenly appeared on his face, especially after recalling the seductive figure that the said girl had.

Argus frowned a little before saying. “Just do it in moderation. If something like the other day happens again, then you are on your own.”

Hadeon smirked as he added. “Heh! I will make sure to take ‘care’ of her well and make sure that she will also enjoy it,” before adding inside.
