Chapter 1969: Using the Trump Cards (Part 3)

Right after arranging something for Arthur and Leonard, Shin swiftly charged straight to Voss, who was still in the middle of consuming the rest of the Unforgiven Ones.

Given the rate of consumption, it seemed like he would be able to finish devouring all of them. It was also quite clear that his realm was slowly getting stronger, particularly when the evil aura surrounding his body was getting more intense.

Shin, who was currently flying straight to him, took out another batch of talismans and channeled his Mental Energy into them while keeping the advanced ones that were already revolving around his body to continue to form a small battle array around him.

Sensing his rapid approach, Voss had to divide his focus and further burrowed his long arms into the ground, channeling his powers into it.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Not long after, a bunch of black roots started coming out of the ground and formed a blockade that was intended to stop Shin’s approach.

Some of them even started attacking him, further slowing him down.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Swoosh!

Unfortunately, Shin was able to bypass them with the help of his True Sight Skill, which was able to read their trajectory and find a path for him, alongside his foot technique that was reinforced by the Five Elemental Lightning.

Crackle! Crackle!

Shin seemed to have transformed into a flash of lightning that left a series of electric trails behind during his approach.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Realizing that Shin was rapidly approaching him without being obstructed by the array of blockades that he had summoned, Voss started becoming agitated and paid more attention to the incoming opponent, increasing his pace.

Seeing the dense black roots that were swarming his way, Shin adjusted his breathing while placing his right hand on his sheathed sword.

Whoosh!

The lightning that was surrounding his body suddenly turned into wisps of blazing embers. He had also started breathing fire after adjusting his breathing technique.

Click!

When the black roots were about to reach him, he suddenly pushed the sword with his thumb, separating its guard from the lid of the sheath.

Shing!

Swoosh!

Fully unsheathing the sword, Shin swiftly swung it horizontally and released a blazing crescent before him that cut and burned all the incoming roots.

However, the roots were so dense that they were able to close the gap that he had just created. They then immediately surrounded him before swiftly attacking from every direction.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

They not only wanted to trap him inside, but also wanted to crush him inside the fully enclosed cage that they had created.

Seeing this, Shin swiftly unsheathed the other sword hanging on his waist. He then channeled his Divinity Grade Mental Energy and used his flame innate attribute to coat both swords before taking a stance.

Swoosh!

With the pair of blazing swords at hand, Shin gently waved his arms, leaving a series of overlapping afterimages on their path and a blazing trail in the air.

A moment later, the two swords suddenly flashed as he threw a series of slashes around him.

Outside the cage made of the black roots, a group of fiery lights suddenly shone from the little gaps that they had before a series of blazing flashes cut through them, followed by a devastating explosion.

Boom!

Immediately after, a flash of fiery light suddenly broke through the blazing smoke and quickly flew straight to Voss.

Roar!

Seeing the incoming light, Voss suddenly became enraged and released an eerie and beastly roar.

“Stand down and don’t disturb my meal!” he shouted while staring at the fiery figure that was flashing toward him.

Boom!

His aura suddenly erupted, followed by his back growing larger as something was trying to come out of it.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

More roots suddenly grew out of the ground and tried to obstruct the blazing figure coming his way.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

Unfortunately, before they could even reach their target, a batch of talismans suddenly flew at them. These talismans stuck themselves into the black roots before releasing an intense light and exploding immediately after.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

A series of explosions immediately erupted. They looked like a series of fireworks exploding in the sky as Shin, who was currently enveloped by an intense yet gorgeous flame, charged through them.

He repeatedly swung his sword and decisively cut all the incoming roots swarming at him. He seemed to be dancing amid all the explosions and drawing a beautiful portrait in the air along with the trails of fire around him.

Seeing that all his attacks remained ineffective against Shin, Voss became even more enraged. He did not know that his mind was already being consumed by the evil core within him, further affecting his mind.

The Evil Seed that he had artificially created and let himself be consumed by it was thoroughly trying to devour him now. This power that he was trying to control and make his own was now fully consuming him, particularly his soul.

It had now outgrown him due to his greed, making him a puppet of it.

Roar!

With another eerie and beastly roar, the growing back of Voss exploded.

Wail!

Immediately after, a huge cluster of black miasma suddenly came out from his back and melded with his body and the surrounding roots, seemingly trying to affect them.

Wail!

Along with the eerie cries that were coming from the black miasma, the black roots started transforming at an alarming rate.

Human faces started growing from those roots, making their appearance much horrifying.

Seeing this, Shin knew that he was already running out of time. Without a choice, he could only risk it all and charged through all these blockades without caring about anything else.

Swoosh!

After sheathing one of the swords, he suddenly held the other with both of his hands while readjusting his breathing technique.

Crackle! Crackle!

This time, he called forth the strongest Five Elemental Lightning that he could muster while holding the sword over his head.

A moment later, he suddenly took a step forward, ignoring all the eerie tree roots swarming his way, before swinging the sword with all his might.

Shing!

Crackle! Crackle!

Boom!

With a thunderous explosion that came alongside his powerful swing, a huge lightning crescent cut through everything on its path and proceeded to head to Voss, who was still greedily devouring the rest of the Unforgiven Ones that now turned into a singular core before him.

Swoosh!

Voss opened his scary mouth wide and was about to eat the evil core floating before him.

Unfortunately, the lighting crescent that Shin had sent had reached him in almost an instant, right after cutting through every obstacle that was supposed to block it.

BOOM!

It then exploded right after hitting his body, producing a massive storm of lightning that repeatedly bombarded him alongside his surroundings.

Roar!

Enraged, Voss hit everything around him.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

He looked like a berserk creature that was on the loose, creating chaos around him.

The damage that the ’Thunder Eclipse’ had dealt to him might look grievous at first, but he immediately recovered right after the black miasma coming out of Voss’s back.

Seeing this scene, Shin could not help but wear a more solemn expression. “His regenerative abilities have become even stronger.”

“Fortunately, I somehow stopped it from devouring that pill,” he added while turning his head toward the direction where the evil core was sent flying after the most recent explosion.

“Time to destroy it before it can even cause more problems later,” he mumbled before sheathing his sword.

Crackle! Crackle! Crackle!

With the Five Elemental Lightning dancing around his body, Shin suddenly tapped his foot into the ground before disappearing from his current location.

Swoosh!

He transformed into a lightning figure that dashed through the swarm of blackened roots while making his way toward the evil core.

He was planning to take advantage of the situation when Voss was still in his crazy state to destroy the core and stop the evolution process for good.

Swoosh!

However, he underestimated the greed that Voss was currently feeling. Along with the corruption that the evil core was giving the latter, Voss’s obsession with power had grown so immense that he could no longer think of anything else aside from devouring everything around him.

Voss started racing against Shin. He started sprinting toward the unified evil core that was formed by the other Unforgiven Ones, fixated on acquiring it rather than thinking about anything else.

Realizing this, Shin did not hesitate and released all the talismans revolving around him.

Swoosh! Swoosh! Swoosh!

They flew toward a different location and started forming a grand formation that centered around him.

“Fortunately, the Link Strengthening Array is still in effect. Along with Leonard’s and Arthur’s current state, I am in my strongest state possible,” he mumbled.

Joining his palms together, Shin activated the grand formation.
