Chapter 418: Chapter 237: Jiang Silu Decides to Help Lu Fan! Seeking Jiang Guoqiang’s Forgiveness?
Jiang Silu looked a little embarrassed and said shyly, "He runs a company and invests in a few industries on the side."
Lin Xiaoyi exclaimed in amazement, "Investing on the side? That’s a pretty big ’on the side’..."
Chen Yu took her hand, her voice filled with envy. "Your dad is so amazing. He brings you snacks *and* finds you a place to practice."
Silu blushed and didn’t say anything, but deep down, she felt a small thrill of happiness.
Lu Fan stood in the doorway and told them, "You can come here to practice every evening from now on. I’ll have Chen He drive you."
"Thank you, Uncle Lu!" Lu Yao was so happy she nearly jumped for joy.
The girls chattered their thanks, then eagerly started practicing their dance.
Lu Fan stood to the side and watched for a bit. Silu was dancing with great concentration. Her movements weren’t the most precise, but they were beautiful to watch.
Her hair was tied in a ponytail that swung with every turn, revealing the pale nape of her neck.
Lu Fan smiled. He didn’t want to disturb them, so he turned and went to the adjacent lounge area.
After finishing a routine, Silu walked over for a drink of water.
Lu Fan handed her a bottle of water, twisting off the cap before asking, "Tired?"
Silu shook her head and took a sip.
She hesitated for a moment before asking softly, "Dad, how are... you and Mom doing lately?"
Lu Fan chuckled. "Pretty good. She hasn’t been yelling at me much lately."
Silu laughed too, then asked, "What about Grandpa and Grandma?"
"Grandma already knows who I am." Lu Fan’s smile faded slightly as he looked at her.
Silu froze, her voice changing as she asked in astonishment, "Grandma knows? Was she... was she angry?"
"She was a little upset at first, but not anymore," Lu Fan said calmly, shaking his head.
Silu breathed a sigh of relief. "What about Grandpa?"
"Grandpa doesn’t know yet. But don’t worry, I’ll do my best to earn his forgiveness," Lu Fan explained with a smile.
Silu looked at him and nodded. "When winter break is over, I’ll go see Grandpa. I’ll spend more time with him and keep him company."
Lu Fan looked at her with a gratified smile. "That’s my girl. Our Silu is such a good, thoughtful daughter."
Silu lowered her head, blushing.
She took another sip of water, then turned and ran back into the studio to continue practicing.
Lu Fan leaned back on the sofa, watching her retreating figure with an expression of clear satisfaction.
The girls practiced until almost nine o’clock.
Chen He drove them back to school, and they chattered nonstop the entire way.
Lin Xiaoyi grabbed Silu’s hand, her voice full of envy. "Silu, your dad is the best! He’s handsome, rich, and he treats you so well."
Chen Yu nodded in agreement. "I know, right? If my dad were half as good as yours, I’d be smiling in my sleep."
Silu, embarrassed by the praise, mumbled, "He wasn’t always this nice... He used to be different."
"What was he like before?" Lin Xiaoyi asked, her curiosity piqued.
Silu just shook her head and said no more.
Lu Yao glanced at her and changed the subject. "So, are we going again tomorrow? That fitness center is awesome, a hundred times better than the one at school."
Lin Xiaoyi and Chen Yu nodded eagerly. "Yes, yes, yes! Of course we’re going!"
The car stopped in front of the dormitory, and the girls got out.
Lu Yao walked ahead, humming the song they had just been dancing to.
Lin Xiaoyi and Chen Yu walked arm in arm, still talking about the fitness center.
Silu walked behind the others, glancing up at the sky.
She thought about what her dad had said—that Grandma already knew the truth. Her heart fluttered with a mix of nervousness and anticipation.
That night, Silu lay in bed, tossing and turning. She couldn’t fall asleep.
She picked up her phone and sent a message to Lu Fan.
Jiang Silu: Dad, thank you for today.
Lu Fan replied quickly.
Lu Fan: You’re welcome. Go to sleep soon, don’t overdo it.
Silu read the message and couldn’t help but smile to herself.
She thought about it carefully. ’Grandma knows Dad’s true identity, but Grandpa still doesn’t.’
"No way. I have to help Dad!" she decided. She would call her grandpa the very next day.
