Chapter 389: Chapter 228: Lu Fan: I’m Handing the Company Over to Silu and Sifan

Jiang Sifan’s fingers tightened slightly.

His heartbeat quickened, and his mind was buzzing.

Just him and Silu.

No one else.

No wonder he had said the company’s businesses would be handed over to him to manage in the future.

He was suddenly in a daze.

He thought of that room, those autographed sneakers, that basketball hoop.

He remembered Sister Jiali, and all the help he’d received behind the scenes.

He remembered the cautious hope in Lu Fan’s eyes every time he looked at him.

The car stopped.

Chen He looked back at him. "Young Master, we’ve arrived."

Jiang Sifan snapped out of his daze, pushed the car door open, and got out.

He stood by the car and thanked Chen He. "Thank you, Uncle Chen."

Chen He replied, "You’re welcome. Get some rest, Young Master."

The car drove away.

Jiang Sifan stood on the roadside, watching the taillights disappear into the night.

He stood there for a good while before turning and walking toward the studio.

The light in the studio was still on.

Jiang Sifan pushed open the door and saw Wen Wan sitting at her desk. An open ledger lay in front of her, a pen resting beside it.

She looked up at the sound, and her eyes brightened when she saw him come in.

"Class President, you’re back?" she asked, standing up, a hint of happiness in her voice.

Jiang Sifan looked at her, and his heart softened. A pang of concern hit him. "Why are you still here? Didn’t I tell you to head home first?"

Wen Wan lowered her head, a blush tinting her cheeks as she explained, "I thought I’d finish reconciling today’s accounts before leaving. I don’t have anything to do at home, anyway."

"I’ll finish up. It’s getting late, I’ll take you home," Jiang Sifan said, walking over and glancing at the ledger on the desk.

Wen Wan opened her mouth to protest, but he had already closed the ledger.

All she could do was nod and pack up her things.

The two left the studio. Jiang Sifan mounted his electric scooter, and Wen Wan sat behind him.

A cool night breeze drifted by.

After they’d ridden for a bit, Jiang Sifan spoke up. "I saw my dad today."

"He had the servants make so many dishes—over thirty of them," Jiang Sifan said with a sigh. "Goose feet in abalone sauce, chicken stewed with fish maw, lobster sashimi, steamed eggs with black truffle... The whole table was completely full."

Wen Wan murmured softly, "That must have been delicious."

"It was pretty good," Jiang Sifan said with a nod. "If I had known, I would have brought you along so you could try it."

"I might not be used to food like that. It’s okay," Wen Wan said reassuringly.

After a moment’s pause, Jiang Sifan added, "He said that in the future, the company’s businesses are to be handed over to me and Silu to manage."

Wen Wan was stunned for a second, then she smiled. "Isn’t that great?"

"I’m not mentally prepared for it," Jiang Sifan said, his voice tinged with resignation.

Sitting behind him, Wen Wan gazed at his back and suddenly remembered what Lu Yao had said that day.

She hesitated for a moment, then asked softly, "Class President."

"Hm?"

"What... kind of girl do you like?"

Jiang Sifan’s hands tightened slightly on the handlebars, and his heart began to race.

He didn’t look back. Clearing his throat, he asked in a slightly unnatural voice, "Why the sudden question?"

Wen Wan lowered her head, her voice barely a whisper. "I was... just asking. A girl named Lu Yao came looking for you today. She wanted me to ask you what kind of girl you like, or if you like her type..."

As the words left her lips, she felt a dull ache in her heart.

It felt as if she were personally handing the boy she liked over to someone else.

But to her surprise, Jiang Sifan said, "She’s actually quite pretty, but for some reason, it’s not enough for me to like her. Anyway, I’m not thinking about getting into a relationship right now. And even if I were going to find a girlfriend, I’d ask you first."

"Ask me?" Wen Wan’s cheeks grew warm.

"Ask if you’re willing to be my girlfriend. Ha ha. After you reject me, then I’ll look for someone else."

"I..." Wen Wan was suddenly overcome with shyness.

Her cheeks flushed red, and she whispered so softly that only she could hear, "I’m willing..."
