Chapter 387: Chapter 228: Lu Fan: I Am Entrusting the Company to Silu and Sifan
Jiang Sifan lowered his head and said nothing.
Jiang Silu didn’t press him, simply standing there and watching the sunset with him.
By the time Lu Fan’s car pulled into the manor, the sky had already gone completely dark.
He got out of the car and strode into the living room.
Jiang Silu was sitting on the sofa. When she saw him come in, she stood up and called out softly, "Dad..."
This time, her tone was more natural, less strained than before.
Lu Fan answered, "Ah, you’re here?"
He then walked over with a smile, his gaze falling on Jiang Sifan.
Jiang Sifan stood up. He wanted to say something, but he didn’t know where to begin.
Jiang Silu tugged on his sleeve and whispered, "Call him Dad."
Jiang Sifan didn’t say it. A faint blush crept onto his face.
"It’s alright, you can call me whatever you like," Lu Fan said with a cheerful wave. "Sifan, you’re here! No work today?"
Jiang Sifan nodded, his voice a bit tight. "We just finished all the studio’s recent projects. The workload isn’t heavy right now."
Lu Fan sat down across from him. His expression turned serious as he said, "You’ve done a great job. I’ve heard about the studio’s performance—it’s practically become a prime example of entrepreneurship at the Jinling Institute of Technology. Jiali told me your business volume has grown quite a bit again this month."
Jiang Sifan felt a surge of happiness, mixed with a little embarrassment.
He lowered his head, blushing as he offered his thanks. "You helped me a lot when I was starting the business. Thank you."
"You’re my son. It’s only natural that I’d help you," Lu Fan said, his tone gentle. "Besides, all these companies and assets will be yours and Silu’s to manage someday."
Jiang Silu quickly shook her head, her tone earnest. "I don’t want to manage companies! I like designing and drawing. Just looking at ledgers and contracts gives me a headache."
"Fine. When the time comes, I’ll give you your own design team," Lu Fan chuckled, ruffling her hair. "Whether you want to design a park or the Marine Corridor, you can do whatever you want."
Jiang Silu blushed and giggled shyly. "Thanks, Dad."
Lu Fan’s gaze returned to Jiang Sifan, who kept his head down and didn’t join the conversation.
"Sifan," Lu Fan said.
Jiang Sifan raised his head.
Lu Fan looked at him and asked, feigning ignorance, "So, what brings you here this time?"
Jiang Sifan took a deep breath. "It’s nothing important. Silu said she missed you and wanted me to come with her for a visit. I... I also wanted to come and thank you. For everything you did before. Thank you."
He finished speaking and lowered his head again. "Now that I’ve said my thanks, I should be going."
Lu Fan nodded, then suggested, "You came all this way. At least stay for dinner. Old Luo has been preparing for a long time; he’s been busy in the kitchen all afternoon."
"Brother, just stay for dinner. Uncle Luo made so many dishes, and they’re all your favorites," Jiang Silu chimed in.
Jiang Sifan hesitated for a moment, then nodded.
...
At the same time, in the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Building at Jinling Institute of Technology, Wen Wan was organizing materials in the studio.
The door was ajar. Her head was bowed, the tip of her pen scratching softly against the paper.
"Excuse me, is Jiang Sifan here?" a clear, crisp voice came from the doorway.
Wen Wan raised her head and saw a girl standing at the door, peeking her head in to look inside.
She was wearing a white dance leotard with a light jacket thrown over it. Her hair was pulled back in a high ponytail, giving her a sharp and energetic look.
Wen Wan stood up and said, a little timidly, "He went out. He’s not here today."
The girl pushed the door open and stepped inside. She glanced around and said with a smile, "Oh, I see. Alright then."
Wen Wan asked quietly, "Did you need our class monitor for something?"
"He’s your class monitor? Oh! Well, our dance club came to the Jinling Institute of Technology for an exchange program today. We just finished our performance, and I wanted to give Sifan a surprise, so I came to check on him. Turns out he’s not here."
Lu Yao then introduced herself. "My name is Lu Yao. I’m roommates with Sifan’s younger sister."
As she spoke, she gave Wen Wan a quick once-over, her eyes lingering on her face for a moment before scanning the rest of her.
Wen Wan wore a simple, white long-sleeved shirt. With her hair in a ponytail, she stood there quietly, looking very pretty.
Lu Yao continued with a smile, "You must be Sifan’s startup partner, right? I’ve heard Silu mention you. She said you’re amazing and have helped Sifan a lot."
"Not at all. The class monitor is the amazing one. I just help out here and there," Wen Wan said, shaking her head as a faint blush colored her cheeks.
Lu Yao propped her chin on her hand and looked at her, a hint of envy in her voice. "It must be nice, getting to work with Sifan every day. It takes me over forty minutes by car to get to the Jinling Institute of Technology. I only get to see him when our team comes over for exchange events."
Wen Wan was a little surprised to hear this and asked curiously, "Do you see each other often?"
"We’ve met lots of times! He even watched me dance last time, right in your main school building. His face got all red after I finished," Lu Yao replied happily, nodding.
As she said this, she started laughing, as if she had remembered something amusing.
As Wen Wan listened, her fingers began to unconsciously twist the hem of her shirt.
She lowered her head and said softly, "So you two are that close."
"What’s your name?"
"My name is Wen Wan."
"By the way, Wen Wan, let me ask you something," Lu Yao said, growing excited, not noticing the other girl’s expression.
Wen Wan raised her head, a little puzzled. "What is it?"
Lu Yao leaned in a little closer and lowered her voice. "Sifan... does he have a girl he likes?"
Wen Wan froze, her heart skipping a beat.
Her voice was faint as she stammered, "I... I don’t think so."
"Wen Wan, you’re really beautiful," Lu Yao said suddenly, after staring at her for a moment. "Your skin is so fair, your eyes are so big, and you have this quiet, elegant air about you."
