Chapter 232: Chapter 171: The Top-Floor Suite Costs 88,000 a Night?
Liu Shiting nodded, but she was already thinking about something else.
A short while later, Mr. Liu returned.
During dinner, Mrs. Liu was the first to ask, "Honey, have you heard of Zijin Mountain Villa?"
Mr. Liu paused, his chopsticks hovering in mid-air. "What villa?" he asked, surprised.
"Zijin Mountain Villa," Liu Shiting chimed in. "My roommate says her dad lives there."
Mr. Liu gave her a suspicious look. "Is this the same roommate whose father’s company you asked me to look into last time?"
Liu Shiting replied, "Mhm, why?"
Mr. Liu put down his chopsticks and thought for a moment before saying, "Zijin Mountain Villa... That’s not a place for just anyone. Years ago, a mysterious figure bought out half the mountain and built a private estate. Outsiders only know it as Zijin Mountain Villa. Very few people know who actually owns it."
Mrs. Liu was stunned. "Half a mountain? How much must that have cost?"
A look of awe crept onto Mr. Liu’s face. "Money is one thing, but the crucial part is having the influence. You can’t just buy that stretch of land because you feel like it."
He looked at Liu Shiting. "Are you sure your roommate said her father lives there?"
Liu Shiting nodded. "Yes, she told me so herself. That they live in Zijin Mountain Villa."
"Are you sure it’s Zijin Mountain Villa and not Purple Cloud Manor?" Mr. Liu was still skeptical. He knew his daughter’s roommate’s father seemed to have some pull, but he couldn’t possibly be the mysterious tycoon who had bought out half the mountain.
Liu Shiting answered firmly, "She said Zijin Mountain Villa."
Even though Liu Shiting was so certain, Mr. Liu insisted, "You must have misremembered. People don’t just casually mention a place like Zijin Mountain Villa."
He went back to eating. "Your roommate probably said Purple Cloud Manor. There’s a villa complex over there, and it’s quite nice, too."
Liu Shiting was indignant. She pouted and said, "She said Zijin Mountain Villa herself. How could I have misremembered?"
Mrs. Liu stepped in to smooth things over. "Alright, alright, let’s not argue. Whether it’s Zijin Mountain Villa or Purple Cloud Manor, it’s clear your roommate’s father is a man of means. By the way, have you gone to see his son?"
Mr. Liu, who didn’t know about Jiang Sifan, was puzzled. "What does his son have to do with this?"
"You don’t know what’s going on with the kids. This Silu... she and our son didn’t click. But, as it turns out, she has a brother, and Shiting quite likes him. I think he’s a great prospect, and we need to lock him down. It would be best if they got married right after graduation. That way, not only would Shiting be set, but our family business would prosper along with our in-laws."
Mr. Liu frowned. "Their family may have money, but Shiting is only a freshman. You shouldn’t be filling her head with these kinds of ideas."
Obviously, as a doting father, Liu Ba had no desire to marry Liu Shiting off so quickly.
But Liu Shiting had her own ideas.
She said to her father, "I think he’s a great guy. He’s already starting his own business as a freshman."
"So that’s why you asked me to write down my business experience and strategies," Mr. Liu said. "It was for him, wasn’t it?"
Liu Shiting nodded, her face turning red. "Of course. You didn’t think I was going to start a business myself, did you?"
"In any case, I’ll say this: if you like him, I won’t stop you. But don’t worry about business alliances or building future wealth. Don’t listen to your mother’s nonsense," Mr. Liu cautioned.
Mrs. Liu retorted, "What do you mean, ’my nonsense’? I’m just trying to make sure Shiting can be a wealthy, carefree wife someday."
Liu Shiting didn’t say anything else, but she had already made up her mind.
After dinner, Liu Shiting went back to her room.
She lay on her bed, thinking about Jiang Silu.
’Uncle Lu definitely lived at Zijin Mountain Villa.’
’It didn’t matter whether her father believed it or not. She did.’
An image of Jiang Sifan surfaced in her mind.
Tall and slender, with sharp, well-defined features. When he spoke, his gaze was steady, calm, and unhurried.
’Most importantly, he was Jiang Silu’s brother.’
Liu Shiting took out her phone and scrolled through the photos she had saved.
She had taken them secretly at a restaurant. In the photo, Jiang Sifan and Jiang Silu were getting drinks together, and they looked very close.
’If she could be with Jiang Sifan...’
At the thought, Liu Shiting’s heart skipped a beat.
Her mom had always wanted her to find a well-off boyfriend, but the trust fund kids she’d been introduced to were either slick-tongued players or total bores. She hadn’t been interested in a single one of them.
But Jiang Sifan was different. He was discreet, mature, and handsome.
’And his dad lived at Zijin Mountain Villa.’
’What kind of family must that be!’
The more she thought about it, the more she felt she had to seize this opportunity.
And so, Liu Shiting stood before the mirror, getting ready.
Her meeting with Jiang Sifan was scheduled for four in the afternoon.
She changed into a pretty dress and posed for a moment in front of her full-length mirror.
Hearing the commotion, Mrs. Liu came to her door. "Shiting, are you going out?"
Liu Shiting didn’t try to hide it. "I’m going to the School of Science and Technology to see Silu’s brother, Sifan."
"You’re going to see her brother?" Mrs. Liu immediately pulled out her phone and transferred three thousand yuan to Liu Shiting. "This is your first time going out with him, so make sure you’re generous. You can’t have him thinking you’re stingy."
Liu Shiting didn’t hesitate to accept it. "Don’t worry, Mom. I’m not one of those stingy girls."
"Oh, right. You should just take my BMW 5 Series," Mrs. Liu added. "Yours might not be impressive enough."
