Chapter 535: Chapter 533:Ravena (3)

"Ahhh... what a delightful meal you are, Ravena." The satisfied voice of the black-haired youth echoed through the room as he wrapped a towel around his waist, his lascivious eyes taking in Ravena’s vulnerable form, a sickening smile on his face.

"To think I waited this long, but I guess it’s all the same. The best meals are best left well done." He laughed. "Wait for me, I shall return after freshening up and we may continue," he added, making his way toward the bathroom as the door closed shut behind him.

Silence returned to the bedroom as Ravena slowly curled up, pulling the sheets to her chest as she tried to gain some semblance of security.

Three days. She had spent three days with this animal and not once had her so-called father come to check on her, leaving her bound, used, and weak.

"Regulus..." her thoughts fractured as she called out to the one person she could think of.

"Big brother..." her body hunched over, her shoulders trembling as she was almost breaking into tears. The strain of the act on her psyche was one that threatened to undo her completely.

"I... can’t..." she strayed, her thoughts going down dangerous paths, "not like this... not anymore." Her shoulders shook even more as her thoughts kept fraying at the edges.

"Big brother... I can’t—"

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!

The entire floating isles shook violently as a cataclysmic force struck them head-on.

"RAVENAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!" Regulus’s loud shout thundered through the air.

Ravena’s head snapped up at the sound, her eyes flickering. "Big brother?"

...

Outside the barrier protecting the floating isles, a confrontation was currently underway between Regulus and the elders of the family.

"Young master, please calm yourself!" a white-browed old man pleaded.

"Where is my sister?" Regulus demanded, ignoring the old man.

"Young lady Ravena is fine."

"Where. Is. My. Sister!" Regulus iterated, his murderous aura mounting.

"Young master, I assure you—"

BANG!!!

The man was turned into a blood mist as Regulus struck out with a slap, his patience having thinned out completely.

"Move!"

One word, and the rest of the obstruction made way.

The man stretched forth his hands, and then—

RIIIIPPPP!!!

Tore open the barrier like it was made of cloth, his senses peering through the crack, covering the entirety of the isle as he searched for his sister’s location. Yet the moment he found it—

"No..." his face paled.

"No... no... no..." Regulus’s body blurred as he vanished from his place, heading deep into the depths of the isles where their "guests" had taken up residence.

Crash!!!

The roof of the building shattered on impact as a figure came tunneling through.

"No..." Regulus’s feet stumbled as the man almost collapsed, tears running down his cheeks the moment he saw her.

"Ravena..." he called out, his voice weak and trembling.

"Big... big brother." Ravena locked eyes with her brother, a myriad of emotions passing through them, and none of them good.

THUD!

His knees gave out as he fell, his tears turning to blood.

"No... no..." He couldn’t believe it. He refused to believe what he was seeing. His baby sister, she...

THUD!

The sound of someone landing behind him didn’t even register in Regulus’s mind.

Valen didn’t speak. He couldn’t. His face had already gone grim the moment he saw the scene of Ravena trembling in fear and despair, with his best friend on his knees and tears of blood running down his face.

Valen was already aware of Ravena’s plight with her family, but this...

"Regulus..." the man called out, "I need you to—"

"Huh!? Who the hell are you bastards!? Are you the ones making all that noise!?" The voice of the startled black-haired youth broke the silence as he pointed at them, his face a mask of rage.

Ravena’s trembling intensified at the mere sound of his voice as she retreated, her expression turning frightful.

Crack!

The sharp sound of something shattering could be heard through the room as Regulus’s heartbreak showed plainly on his face.

"Va... Valen.." the man called out, his voice broken.

"Did you bastards not—" The black-haired youth choked on his words as an arm wrapped tightly around his throat.

"You will be silent in my presence, you filthy animal." Came Valen’s murderous voice as he reduced the young man into a whimpering mess.

Turning around, Valen looked at his friend, whose body was currently bleeding a golden murderous aura. "Make it painful and swift, spare none of them," he said, and the only reply he received—

ROOOOOOOOOARRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!

—was a thunderous roar that shook the entirety of the central continent as Regulus’s body was covered by a blinding gold radiance, his Mythical Draken bloodline stirring to life as he let it all out.

ROOOOOOARRRRRRRR!!!!

Another thunderous roar shook the land as Regulus vanished, and what took his place—

"You... touched... my... sister." The booming and broken voice of the three-headed golden dragon echoed for all the continent to hear as its aura pressed down, creating a feeling like the weight of the world falling upon the shoulders of all within the central continent.

"You... you shall pay...." The dragon spat as its maws, all three of them, opened widely, an obscene amount of energy condensing within.

A suffocating aura of death fell instantly upon the entire floating isles as elders burst out one after the other, Magnus in their lead.

"Regulus!!!!" The man roared out, "do you wish to become an eternal sinner to your family?"

ROOOOOARRRRRRRRR!!!!

The only reply he received were golden immolation flames that bathed the entire floating isles in pure carnage.

The skies of the central continent on that day lit up a brilliant golden color as the vanquisher descended like judgment upon his own family.

"DEFEND!!!!!!!" Magnus called out loudly, his face paling at the sight of the flames as his aura burst out, his own figure transforming in turn.

The elders behind him didn’t dawdle, as they all let go of their restraints, putting their all into stopping the incoming attack. But—

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMMMM!!!

It was futile. The moment the flames from Regulus’s attack met their resistance, it all crumbled like brittle glass, the flames engulfing them and the entirety of the floating isles.

Buildings, formations, sacred grounds—nothing was spared as everything was turned into molten sludge, the floating isles for the first time in their history being brought crashing down from their lofty position.

"Outsiders!!! Your deaths shall be one of hellish torment!!!" The dragon’s booming voice echoed through the fiery inferno as another barrage of flames blew toward the internal reaches of the isles, hell-bent on turning whomever resided there into ashes.

"PLEBEIAN!!! YOU DARE!!"

The outsiders taking refuge within the Draken family were incensed, their auras flaring as they made a move to put the arrogant man in his place. But—

FWOOOOOOOOOOOSHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

The results were unchanging as Regulus’s flames swallowed up their attacks, turning their abodes into fiery hells.

"AHHHHHH!!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!"

"IT BURNS!!! IT BURNS!!!"

"PLEBIAN!!!"

Painful and agonizing shrieks were all that could be heard from the location as Regulus didn’t relent, spewing forth another mouthful of flames that turned the place into a molten hell.

His rampage didn’t slow. That day, Regulus was determined to wipe out the entire Draken family. But—

"Big... big brother..."

The weakened voice of Ravena, despite all the carnage, all the noise, all the death, still reached Regulus. He stopped, his draconic form dissipating instantly as he appeared at once beside Ravena.

"Don’t..."

"Ravena..."

"Don’t... don’t become an eternal sinner for my sake. You... you’ve made them pay. It.. is enough." Ravena spoke, her eyes pleading as she begged her brother, even now, to spare the family.

"Ravena, they..."

"I know... brother... but you’re here... that’s all.." She took a deep breath, trying to steady her turbulent emotions, "that’s all that matters. Spare them, for today. For me."

He was unwilling. Regulus truly was. This den of snakes had done something unforgivable to his sister, and now she wished he spared them?

"Ravena..."

"Please, brother... I just need you to do one thing for me," she begged.

"What is it?" he asked.

"Make... make him pay." Ravena forced herself to say as the weakness finally came over her and she closed her eyes, slumping softly into the waiting arms of her brother.

Silence returned to the broken room as only the cries and shrieks of horror from the Draken family could be heard.

"Regulus..." Valen called out to his friend, as Regulus raised his head, the tears of blood having returned.

"Valen... I’m going to make him pay. Dearly."

"Then why do we still stay here talking when there’s punishment to be done?"

Regulus nodded, scooped Ravena up into a princess carry, and—together with Valen, and with the now-frightened Aaron in tow—disappeared from the broken room.
