Chapter 517: Chapter 515:Bearer of finality.

"Inevitability, huh?" I couldn’t help musing to myself as,

BOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!

I watched the carnage unfold around me.

I had just felt the poking hands of someone using a law I was more than familiar with as they tried to take someone from my presence.

My gaze turned to Xuan; the man hadn’t attacked, or rather, he had been forced to sit back as Paku and Malachi ran wild amidst the armada of ships that had shrouded the space around the Martial Spirit World.

It hadn’t taken us more than an instant to appear here after I’d felt those prying hands.

But that wasn’t what made me troubled.

It wasn’t even the familiar auras I was feeling aboard a ship that was very clearly the leading ship—auras I’d felt clearly a few months ago on Aetheris Prime.

"They’re here." Sana’s hardened voice reassured my assumptions even further, "and just as I thought, he sent his personal digits. Not just figures he uses, but those part of his own personal task force." Her voice was grim.

It was obvious: whatever or whoever it was aboard that ship wasn’t anything to scoff about.

But even then, they weren’t my major concern. They weren’t the reason I was currently bearing a very grim expression.

"Dante! What are the orders?" Malachi’s voice reached me from the center of the carnage as the monkey was currently glowing a vibrant golden hue, his staff already pointed upwards.

"End it. Fast! We’ve got bigger problems." I ordered, no longer in the mood for games.

"Alright!" A golden light bathed the entire region as Malachi’s voice, low as a verdict, echoed through the entire place,

"Begone from my presence, you filthy mongrels!"

WEEEEENGGGGGGH!!!!!

A sound akin to that of metal striking metal thundered outwards as the light condensed inward, converging back into the monkey, and wherever it passed, whichever ship was unfortunate enough to be washed over by the retreating glow was instantly vanquished. No explosions. No blaring alarms. Just gone. Like someone had pushed a delete button on their existence.

HUMMMM!!!

A resonant hum echoed through the now silent region as only a single ship had been spared from the carnage, as a domain of swirling chains had effectively nullified Malachi’s attack, saving the ship from erasure.

A moment of silence passed as we just waited for the beings within to bring themselves out, and we didn’t have to wait long, as soon enough,

"It would seem we’ve found her." An intent echoed through the heads of everyone as multiple beings appeared right before us.

"This..." Xuan’s eyes, for the first time ever, shook as they widened in horrific realization.

"Harbingers of Penance!" A grim voice resounded through the empty region as multiple figures began showing themselves. Their attires suggested they weren’t natives of the High Planar Galaxies, but their auras suggested a very powerful force. Most of them had been those on the topmost floor with us back at the Treasury Tower, yet now, all that could be seen on their faces were fear and horror.

"We greet the messengers of the judge." They all, without exception, bowed their heads in greeting as they faced the pale white beings that had appeared before us.

"Messengers of Penance?" A feminine voice broke the solemn silence as this time I turned around. ℴ

The voice didn’t hold the same reverent tone the others did. Instead, it sounded more unsure than awed.

"A servant of the Lifetree? Do you wish to get involved in these matters as well?" The leading harbinger, the one numbered 01, called out in creepy familiarity as my eyebrows rose gently.

"Lifetree?" I focused my gaze on the woman, now fully interested.

The Lifetree. The key to bringing back Mom and Dad, because even now, I was still being waylaid by my existence level from bringing them back.

"I have no such intentions. I was merely curious, but now, I shall take my leave." The woman shook her head gently as she got ready to leave, but,

"Stay." My voice stopped her.

"Hmm?" Her eyes left the being numbered 01 as she turned towards me. "You? I recognize that voice. You must be the one that had been bidding like a lunatic earlier, hehehehe... quite the funny one, aren’t you?" She laughed, but I wasn’t amused.

I’d just found a clue to probably my most prioritized target; I wasn’t in the mood for games, especially not now.

"Not feeling very chatty, huh? Well, whatever." She shrugged, uncaring for my cold attitude. "As for staying? Sorry, dear, but if I want to leave, then I shall leave. Perhaps if you had something worth it, I might stick my neck out for you with these guys, but unfortunately, you’re just unrealistically beautiful, and beauty doesn’t replace life. So sorry, but I think I’ll still take my leave." She laughed, waved, and tried to leave once more, but,

"It wasn’t a request." Shulvan had already appeared behind the woman as his hand wrapped tightly around her neck, sealing her powers shut as she dangled helplessly in his grasp.

"Let... let... let me go." I ignored her struggles, finally focusing my gaze on the four beings that had remained silent until now.

"You... the tower resides within you." The leading voice called out.

"You dare touch what belongs to Master?" Another echoed.

"A thousand deaths is a mercy undeserved by the likes of you." The third chimed in.

"Your judgement has been decided, mortal. Your sentence is death. Now, will you hand her over of your free will, or shall we take matters into our hands?"

""""Make your choice!""""

I remained silent as I focused on the beings before me, my eyes glancing behind them, at the figure of a purple-haired youth whose aura signature I recognized all too well.

"A Calderan, and some ants that still do not know in whose presence it is they stand. Indeed, a truly amusing gathering of insects." I could see the patience get wiped out from their faces the moment my words registered in their heads, but I couldn’t care less because this time,

"I have no time for insects." I raised my head up as my cosmic eye began heating up, my eyes peeling away through the myriad layers of reality and the dimensions within and around it, my gaze finally landing on the being hidden or rather lounging within,

"Still not willing to show yourself? O bearer of Finality."

An apostle had arrived, and it was time for my payback.

A/N: Damn! The gears switched up fast! From a relaxed auction to meeting an apostle? I’m sat.

Anyways, as always...
