Chaos Devourer System: My Classless Ascension
Chapter 453 - 451:Congratulation.
Chapter 453: Chapter 451:Congratulation.
"Haaa... fuck!" It suddenly felt like all the energy within me had been drained by some supernatural suction force.
Why did it look like my father had made it his eternal duty to create problems for me everywhere before he kicked the bucket?
I had been landing into one mess after another that he left behind back on Terra, and now, here, light years away from our region, the old man’s fingerprints were still following me.
"Damn that old codger." I let out an internal breath as I took hold of myself.
Now, normally, none of this would have been of any concern to me.
Sure, the old man’s actions had far-reaching consequences, but then again, so what?
The old man was merely defending himself, fighting for his honor, for his pride, fighting to stay with Mother. What was he to do? Give up his freedom for the sake of people he had no idea about?
Hell, even if he did know what consequences his actions would’ve had, I’m sure he’d still do the same. After all, why was he to take the fall for a people he had zero ties with while leaving behind the one person that truly mattered back then?
So, no. My old man hadn’t done anything wrong. Hell, I would’ve probably done even worse if I were in his shoes, so I wasn’t really upset or bothered by the fact that his actions had doomed the talented males of many worlds under the Calderans.
Hell, I wasn’t even frustrated about the thing, because sure, the history was tragic, but who gives a fuck? My involvement in this issue would’ve been solely because it was those Caldera bastards that spawned the fool that dared take my Mel captive.
Yes, that would’ve been the reason. That would’ve been my only concern for involvement, but...
My eyes couldn’t help but glance behind the man still standing, landing on the beautiful visage of one blue-skinned, white-haired woman.
There, Nyssara was also stealing a glance back at me. Our eyes met, she smiled thinly, then looked away.
"Ahh.. you poor old fool." I could hear Shaia letting out a long breath at that little interaction.
"Husband is a lost cause, isn’t he?" Terra chimed.
"Unfortunately, dear Terra, he truly is." Shaia.
"Ladies, can you truly blame me?" I could only shake my head wryly at their conversation.
I didn’t need any more to understand what was happening here.
I had seen the princess fight. I had felt the aura coming off of her transformation. I had heard what that Calderan youth had been mouthing off about her divine bloodline nonsense.
It was enough for a picture to begin being painted in my head.
And if that image was true, then—
"I can’t very well have that, now can I?" I had already decided that the princess was going to be mine whether she knew it or not.
And now, you’re telling me that some Caldera family is about to turn her into a breeding cow for their inept children?
Call it childish. Call it irrational. Call it petty, whatever you wish, but I really couldn’t allow some inconsequential fools lay hands on what was already mine.
Malachi, Leo, Salazar, Paku, and the still-standing Shulvan behind me all righted themselves at once, their postures losing any casualness they had before.
They seemed to have felt the change.
"Durmont..." I called out as I closed my eyes, tilting my head upward, "tell me, what is the highest grade of bloodline within your family currently?"
"The current most powerful bloodline within our family would be mine, my daughter Lysera’s, and..." His words trailed off as I could feel him direct a hidden gaze to the back, at Nyssara.
"And, how many children have you lost to the Calderans? Or is it that in all these years you have yet to birth a child with mythic and above tier bloodlines?"
"It is as you have guessed. I have indeed given birth to not a few children with extremely high bloodlines, and most had been taken away before the Calderans changed, but... but..." The man began hyperventilating as he reached up to this point, needing his wife and kids to help calm him down.
"I see..." I didn’t need him to continue; I understood clearly what he meant.
"And, what of the princess, Nyssara? What level is her bloodline, and if you already knew what would happen, why didn’t you take precautions?" I had to understand clearly what was happening because it didn’t make sense for a people this brilliant to not understand the simple act of camouflage. If the Calderans are targeting high-level bloodlines, then hide those bloodlines with some weird advanced technology instead of all this flashy nonsense.
"We tried," the man’s weak voice cut through my thoughts like a blade, "we had tried. When I suspected my first daughter to have had a fairly high bloodline, I personally commissioned the creation of a bloodline dampener, one that would hide the bloodline of whoever wore it, reducing its grade to at least two levels below its actual level. I thought I couldn’t be too cautious."
"But?" I interjected, clearly feeling a "but" coming on, and sure enough—
"But it wasn’t enough. My daughter... she had awakened something even I couldn’t have ever imagined, a Divine-grade Omni-Beast Suppression bloodline."
A heavy silence fell within the room as the emperor’s words hung in the air.
"Not the branch bloodline we had, but the full bloodline of the Calderans themselves, and a divine grade one at that. It was a cause for worry. What would’ve been a reason for joy became one of my worst nightmares. I did all I could, I tried all I could, I commissioned another device, one to hide the bloodline completely, hide it until we were ready."
"I called on my father and my elders. We braved hell and high water as we even dared to tackle the titans of Aetheris, the Leviathan and Kraken, celestial beasts in their own right, all to give my daughter a chance. We lost many lives, yet, we succeeded. She had gotten the bloodlines of two of the most infamous creatures on this world. Things were finally looking up, until it didn’t..."
"You were betrayed." I spoke out in certainty.
The emperor went quiet.
"Haa... so such foolishness existed beyond just humans as well, huh?" I couldn’t help shaking my head as my eyes finally opened, a proper image of the events finally being painted clearly in my mind.
"Sana, my dear, how high up the spectrum is a divine grade bloodline? How far up is it from the lauded mythic tier?" I asked, trying to get a proper gauge on how important this princess was to these people.
"The bloodline/physique tiers are the same as what you knew from Terra," Sana began explaining as she turned to me. "You’re already aware of the levels before mythic. Now, for the levels after mythical, they are:
Immortal grade.
Celestial grade.
Divine grade.
Cosmic grade.
Primordial grade.
Nexus grade.
That is roughly the current known tiers of physiques and bloodlines." Sana concluded.
"Primordial? Nexus? Pardon me, but I do not believe I’ve heard of these tiers before." The emperor suddenly asked, confused.
"If you had heard about them from this backwater region, I would’ve been surprised. Do not worry about things that are beyond you at this moment." Sana dismissed the man as her attention returned to me.
"So, she’s just a level below what should be the highest tier the so-called cosmic power family has, huh? What are the chances that she’s going to be given off as a token of ingratiation to the main family by the branch overseeing this universe, since they themselves can’t actually keep her?" I asked, finally standing up.
"I’d say about 80% chances of them doing such a thing," was Sana’s reply.
"Hmm.. I thought so." I nodded as I turned toward the emperor and his family, mind made up.
"Like you were ever going to change it in the first place, tehee."
"Husband is truly a lost cause."
I merely shook my head as I ignored the two women in my head.
"Sana, where do the ABSOLUTE bloodlines I gave the others sit within this hierarchy?" I asked, somewhat curious.
"You already know the answer."
"Heh! Just as it should be," I laughed, and then, "Congratulations, Emperor Durmont," I spoke out to the still-confused emperor, "you have successfully won yourself a borrowed sword." The others slowly stood behind me as their auras began leaking out in excitement.
"For the sake of that beautiful woman behind you. For the fact that I cannot allow mongrels to dare touch what I already consider mine—"
"Ehh?" Nyssara.
"I shall help you eradicate this filth, and just as well, get my dues for the foolishness they had gotten involved with back in my home world." The words had barely left my lips when I felt the space outside the planet fluctuate as multiple ships boomed into orbit.
"Ahhh... it seems someone is just as excited to get things going. Well then, don’t mind if I do." I turned around, a shit-eating grin on my face as I addressed the others. "What do you guys say? Want to go give our new guests a proper welcome?"
....
....
"Gladly!"
