CEO's Reborn Wife
Chapter 2716 - 2734: Not a Word About It
Breathing softly, I’m awake~ — James Black’s wife.
James has been waiting for a WhatsApp message from Jane Sampson, thinking she should be awake around this time. He picked up his mobile phone to check and saw her message.
James plugged in his headphones and moved to a deserted corner, directly calling Jane.
Jane was surprised, answering the call, "You actually have time to call me at this moment?"
"I’m not at the base now," James explained, "Go back to your room first, I have something to tell you."
Jane heard James’s tone, as if he had something serious to discuss. She acknowledged, mentioned to Aunt she was going back to the room to fetch something, and took her mobile phone upstairs.
Once she had closed the room door, Jane spoke to James, "I’m back in the room; you can speak now."
"I’m not returning to the base today. I’m at the airport with my grandfather and auntie; we should be boarding in about ten plus minutes, heading back to the hometown to meet your grandparents," James said.
"Did something happen?" Jane immediately got tense upon hearing her grandparents were also going over.
"Do you remember the nightmare you had that night? In your dream, there was a desk calendar. You could see the date on it clearly," James lowered his voice, "The day before yesterday, a friend of mine detected some data. Based on his professional deduction, he suspects an earthquake might occur. Yesterday, both daytime and evening, he didn’t rest, always monitoring the data fluctuations. Early morning, over five o’clock, he called me, very confidently telling me the chance of an earthquake is ninety-five percent."
"Due to some reasons, the leaders at his workplace didn’t believe his reports, thinking he had made calculation errors and was misled by data. Many deeply believe they are in a non-active area; an earthquake is impossible. My grandfather and I are going over to handle this issue now."
James said, "We’ve decided to evacuate the residents marked as the seismic zone as soon as possible, relocating all the public to a safety zone. Jane, regardless of whether there is an earthquake or not, do not mention a single word about your dreams to anyone, okay?"
Jane froze there, then gently nodded, "Yes, I remember."
"When are you, your grandfather, and auntie coming back? The earthquake was intense in the dream; you shouldn’t go there," Jane said, "I don’t know why the time in the dream changed, but..."
James interrupted Jane’s words, reassuring her current unease and panic.
"Don’t worry, we will reach today and surely return to Capital Province tonight," James stated, "Relax at home, we’ll be back soon, we might even have dinner at home later, take good care of yourself."
"Alright, you all be careful," Jane replied, "I’ll be waiting in the house for you all to return."
Outside the door, Aunt knocked, asking Jane to come downstairs for breakfast. Over on James’s side, the boarding reminders sounded, prompting Jane to end the call and leave the room.
"By the way, Jane, when I went out in the morning, I saw that girl from the Lancaster Family, probably named Amelia, waiting outside the great courtyard’s doorway. No one knows who she’s waiting for," Aunt said while serving Jane the meal, "When I was out buying groceries, she was already there; the guard said she’s been waiting for more than an hour now, and when I returned, she was still waiting, no one went out to fetch her inside."
