The man, full of bravado now, even took out his phone again, pretending he was going to call the Police Department to deal with Qin Tianxuan.

Yan Xinyue frowned. “Director Chen, let it go. Just teaching him a lesson is enough. If you really get the Police Department involved, he’ll probably lose his job.”

Yan Xinyue was just headstrong and arrogant. She wasn’t actually that malicious.

But this was Director Chen’s moment to show off. How could he possibly back down?

He clasped his hands behind his back. “I’m the director of security for Shangdu National University. This matter must be handled properly!”

Qin Tianxuan smiled. “Can you let me explain?”

Director Chen rolled his eyes. “Shut up! Did I say you could talk? Do you think you get a chance to explain?”

The man’s breath reeked of alcohol.

‘Drinking on the job, not giving anyone a chance to explain… A mere university director is already putting on such official airs?’

Qin Tianxuan’s gaze darkened. “Having a security director like you is a disaster for University City. You’re more trouble than you’re worth!”

Director Chen raised his hand and swung a slap at him.

Qin Tianxuan easily dodged it.

Director Chen flew into a rage. “Believe it or not, I can have my men lock you up in a small room right now! Here in Shangdu, I could kill you and no one would ever know!”

The situation was about to explode.

Even Yan Xinyue was getting uneasy. Just then, a teacher walked in from outside. “Director Chen, Teacher Yan, the principal wants a Mr. Qin to come and see him.”

Director Chen froze for a second, then let out a savage grin. “Shit, even the principal was disturbed by a bastard like you. Good. I’ll take you to him. We’ll see how the principal deals with you!”

Yan Xinyue sighed.

She hadn’t expected things to turn out this way.

‘My daughter, Hua Hua, keeps clamoring to play with Uncle Qin. How am I going to explain this to her later?’

‘Come to think of it, this whole thing started because of me.’

Yan Xinyue walked over and sneered, “Just your bad luck. Our principal is on very good terms with a big shot from the Lanling Commerce Association. His background is deeper than you could ever imagine. You’re finished this time!”

Qin Tianxuan said coolly, “What, feeling guilty?”

“Nonsense! You brought this on yourself!” The beautiful young woman grew angry. “Someone like you needs to be taught a lesson!”

Qin Tianxuan took out his phone and played a video from the Fang Jinyuan Nightclub. “See for yourself. This Fang Jinyuan is not a good person. I’ve already given him a small punishment, but you’d be wise to stay away from him!”

Turning around, he waved his hand drunkenly. “Take this troublemaking punk to the principal’s office!”

Qin Tianxuan walked casually, surrounded by the group of security guards.

With his hands behind his back, Director Chen slurred drunkenly as they walked. “Ever since I became the security director for University City, not a single motherfucker has dared to cause trouble here!”

The principal’s office, located on the top floor of the administration building, was spacious and luxurious.

At the moment, Principal Zhang, a man in his forties, was sitting there with a reserved air, a document in his hand.

It was this year’s donation amount from the Lanling Commerce Association!

He, Zhang Tianyun, had come from under the patronage of Prince Lanling. Over the years, he had done better and better for himself in Shangdu and was now the head of the National University.

The moment he hung up the phone, the door opened.

Principal Zhang was furious. “Don’t you know how to knock?”

Director Chen chuckled. “Brother-in-law, there are no outsiders here. These guards are all my old buddies. What’s there to be afraid of? See? I brought the troublemaker.”

A glint flashed in Zhang Tianyun’s eyes as he slowly stood up.

He looked Qin Tianxuan up and down. “Our young lady asked me to have you wait in my office. May I ask what your relationship is with our young lady, Mr. Qin?”

Qin Tianxuan just smiled.

Principal Zhang rubbed his forehead, about to ask for a clearer answer, when a clatter of hurried footsteps and shouting erupted from outside.

‘Hm? Is someone else here to cause trouble?’

He saw two plainly dressed elderly people desperately push past the security guards and enter the office, wiping away tears.

In their hands, they carried mountain-raised chicken eggs, red dates, and peanut oil.

“Principal Zhang, we’ve been here for two days, all the way from the mountains. We don’t have money for a hotel and just couldn’t hold out any longer. We had no choice but to come see you like this.”

The old man rubbed his dark, cracked hands and carefully set down the local goods. “We’re poor, so we can’t afford anything nice. These are red dates we grew in the mountains, eggs from our own chickens, and this oil… we just pressed it. It’s not like the city stuff with all the coloring. Here, smell how fragrant it is.”

Principal Zhang was impatient. “Where are you from? What is it? I don’t have time to wait on you!”

With a pleading look, the old man tremblingly took out an acceptance letter. “Our child was really accepted by the university! But because he filled out his ID number wrong, someone else took his spot! You’re a man of justice, sir, please help us.”

The woman standing next to the old man was crying by now. “It’s so hard for us to raise a university student. Our child is so distraught he’s been hospitalized! Please, be kind and look into it for us, won’t you?”

Principal Zhang was clearly annoyed. He turned and glanced at Director Chen.

His brother-in-law hurried over and whispered, “This is about that admission spot we just sold. Brother-in-law, don’t go soft now. We took three million for it. Shit, they’re just some poor bastards from the mountains. They don’t know any better. I’ll handle this for you!”

Principal Zhang gave a cold nod. “There’s still an outsider here. Get these two old folks out of here, quickly!”

Director Chen turned around with a smirk. “You two, this is the principal’s office. If you have a problem, come talk to me at the security office!”

The two elderly people weren’t fools. They refused to leave, no matter what.

Director Chen got angry. He lifted his foot and kicked over the basket full of eggs. “So you won’t accept my kindness, is that it? What is this trash anyway? You don’t even know how to give a proper gift. Men! Get them out of here! Take them straight to the security office. I’ll show them the might of this university!”

The security guards rushed forward like a pack of wolves. The two elderly people trembled, letting out a mournful cry, “Is there any justice in this world? Is there no one to step in and do what’s right?”

Just then, a tremendous force erupted with a whistling sound, instantly sending all the security guards on the scene flying.

Qin Tianxuan clenched his fists, his expression as dark as it could be.

He viciously stomped on a security guard’s leg, breaking it. His eyes filled with a murderous aura as he shielded the elderly couple.

“I’m taking care of this.”
