Chapter 316: I Call the Shots in University City

  • Next Chapter

The new assistant to the president of the Lanling Commerce Association, Bai Chuxia, was the talk of the town lately.

Personally scouted by President Li Qingcheng to work by her side, the newcomer had shot up to the position of chief assistant in just a few days, as if she’d taken an elevator.

A minor character like Fang Jinyuan didn’t even register on Bai Chuxia’s radar.

But they were, after all, both from the Lanling Commerce Association.

Fang Jinyuan yelled desperately.

In the hallway outside, Bai Chuxia looked up and saw something. A delighted expression lit up her face, and she started running over.

Her own assistant and subordinates, trailing behind her, were startled and hurried to keep up.

Fang Jinyuan grew smug. He pointed at Qin Tianxuan and Brother Fei in the classroom. “Listen up, all of you! The person arriving now is the special assistant to our association’s president, Bai Chuxia! Haha, scared now? The Lanling Commerce Association is not someone any of you can afford to provoke!”

Bai Chuxia had already burst in like a gust of wind.

She seemed so anxious!

Fang Jinyuan was stunned. ‘This Assistant Bai usually doesn’t even spare me a glance. I can’t believe she’s so concerned about me now!’

‘Could it be… she’s interested in me?’

At this thought, Fang Jinyuan scrambled to his feet, desperately straightening his shirt and running a hand through his messy hair.

Bai Chuxia rushed in.

Fang Jinyuan put on his most handsome expression. “President Bai, you’re too concerned about me. There’s no need to rush over like this. I can still hold on…”

The guy’s face was beaming, his eyes filled with a touched expression.

Unfortunately, before Fang Jinyuan could finish his sentence, Bai Chuxia lifted her foot and kicked him hard in the shin with her high heel.

Fang Jinyuan cried out in pain and fell to his knees.

Annoyed, Bai Chuxia kicked him again. “Get the hell out of my way, you idiot! Don’t block the path!”

Darting past Fang Jinyuan, she flew like a little bird straight into Qin Tianxuan’s arms.

Ah!

‘Just what is happening?’

Fang Jinyuan was petrified, standing there utterly dumbfounded.

Bai Chuxia was now hugging Qin Tianxuan’s waist intimately, completely ignoring the shocked stares from everyone around them.

“Brother Qin, I’ve been meaning to find you, but I couldn’t get in touch. I’m the president’s assistant now! It’s all thanks to you putting in a good word for me that I got this position,” Bai Chuxia said in a bright, clear voice.

Qin Tianxuan was happy for her too. “The Lanling Commerce Association is a good place. You have a bright future there. Keep up the good work.”

Bai Chuxia pursed her lips into a smile, her eyes twinkling. “What exactly is the relationship between our president and you? I hear her mentioning you all the time.”

Qin Tianxuan was speechless. “She’s just my little follower.”

‘That…’

Bai Chuxia found that a little hard to believe. She lowered her voice. “Our President Qingcheng is incredibly charming. Brother Qin, you’d better keep yourself in check. Don’t forget, I’m Weiwei’s best friend. Be careful, or I’ll tell on you.”

Although she was joking, Qin Tianxuan was still startled. “You little brat, don’t joke about things like that.”

Bai Chuxia let go and giggled.

Turning her head, she saw the idiotic-looking Fang Jinyuan. “Hm? This is a junior employee from our association. What’s wrong?”

Qin Tianxuan couldn’t be bothered to explain.

Over on the side, however, Brother Fei quickly explained what had happened.

Bai Chuxia’s delicate eyebrows shot up. “So he’s that kind of bastard!”

She glared at Fang Jinyuan.

That single glance was enough to make Fang Jinyuan fall to the ground in terror. He scrambled back over desperately. “Assistant Bai, please give me one more chance! I worked my ass off to get into the Lanling Commerce Association. Please don’t fire me!”

Without the Lanling Commerce Association, he, Fang Jinyuan, would be less than nothing.

Bai Chuxia sneered. “What, you still think you can keep working here? You think life is that easy?”

Drenched in sweat, Fang Jinyuan turned to Qin Tianxuan and started kowtowing desperately.

He was truly terrified, the sound of his head hitting the floor echoing with loud thuds.

Qin Tianxuan spoke calmly, “This is an internal matter for the association. Chu Xia, you handle it.”

‘What a joke!’

‘Now he knows how to kowtow and beg for mercy?’

‘Where was this attitude earlier?’

Bai Chuxia gave a light wave of her hand. Two burly men from behind her came forward, grabbed the weeping Fang Jinyuan, and dragged him away.

“Oh, our president is still waiting for me outside. Brother Qin, you should go see her in a bit. President Qingcheng has been looking for you like crazy.” Bai Chuxia made a cute gesture, then left with her people in a whirlwind.

Qin Tianxuan’s mood improved considerably. That girl, Bai Chuxia, just had that kind of charm, like a sea breeze in early summer, full of life.

At that moment, all the students in the classroom were looking at him with boundless adoration.

A few of them looked like they were about to ask Qin Tianxuan for his autograph.

“What’s going on here? Where’s Teacher Fang, the man I invited?!” A sharp shout shattered the calm.

Yan Xinyue appeared with a school administrator, both staring dumbfounded at the scene inside.

The scene was chaotic. Brother Fei and his few underlings, in particular, looked like gangsters at a glance.

Yan Xinyue immediately jumped to the wrong conclusion. “Well, well. You, a delivery boy, actually called gangsters to a school to cause trouble? You scared off Fang Jinyuan, didn’t you?”

Qin Tianxuan shrugged. “Nothing to do with me.”

Brother Fei, not wanting to implicate his boss, bowed with his men and made a swift exit.

Yan Xinyue was furious. “Still say it has nothing to do with you? You’re the one who brought these thugs here!”

The man beside her narrowed his eyes. “Xinyue, don’t worry. I’ll handle this! In University City, what I, Mr. Chen, say, goes!”

The students in the classroom all stood up, wanting to explain the situation for Qin Tianxuan.

The man bellowed, “All of you, get out! Class is dismissed for today.”

“But…” The students didn’t even get a chance to explain before other teachers arrived and ushered them away.

The scene became deathly silent.

The man unbuttoned his suit jacket, then called for school security. A dozen or so guards appeared and blocked the classroom entrance.

Qin Tianxuan frowned. ‘Why is this Shangdu National University so arrogant? Is this a University City or a Jianghu sect?!’
