Chapter 1706: Chapter 832: Asian Actors_3

Zhou Lan nodded and said, "This time in Berlin, you have seven public events, along with a private screening of ’Treasure.’ Although it’s a private screening, there will still be a red carpet segment and subsequent media interviews. I’ve already spoken to the director and Sister Ning Yao, and both of them will attend. Additionally, you need to attend Jinling Jewelry’s brand event, and there’s a special screening for ’Life.’ The special screening for ’Life’ is officially added by Berlin, and the jury will join in."

Zhou Yun listened, utterly surprised.

"Huh?" She wasn’t aware of such an arrangement.

Zhou Lan said, "It was Berlin’s official team that contacted me, wanting to add this segment. I saw there was time, so I agreed immediately. It’s a very important task for you; the Berlin Film Festival rarely organizes special screening events for individual actors. Usually, it’s only for very influential films. Previously, the film ’Falling Leaves’ that you starred in didn’t enter the main competition of the Berlin Film Festival, and Shi Luoqi completely refused other sections. Although Berlin invited you that year, in the end, we didn’t go. I guess they want to mend our relationship."

"Uh, but actually, I have no issues with Berlin," Zhou Yun never had such a thought.

Zhou Lan said, "But it’s good for you. When ’Life’ is specially screened, all jury members will participate. It’s the official team supporting you, reflecting how much Berlin Film Festival values you."

"Okay, great," Zhou Yun said, somewhat excited. "So, does this mean I need to ask for quite a long leave from the crew?"

"You’ll need five days. I talked to Brillanch and Tim, and they said it’s alright," Zhou Lan said, "The film’s shooting progress has exceeded expectations, especially since there are many other actors’ scenes yet to be filmed, making it easy to adjust."

"That’s good."

"It’s also thanks to the ’Variety’ issue; the producers want to appease our anger. When we ask for leave, they are almost eager, seeing it as a chance for both sides to step down." Zhou Lan shrugged, smirked, "There are many faces from Chinese cinema at this Berlin Film Festival. You being able to attend makes everyone happy. Oh, by the way, there’s another agenda I forgot to tell you. There’s a Mandarin film in the main competition, Zhang Lv’s ’Silver Light.’ They’ve invited you to watch it, along with Ning Yao starring in ’Mortal Realm.’ Although ’Mortal Realm’s screening is scheduled later, you’ll have returned by then."

Zhou Yun said, "Then explain it to Sister Ning Yao, I’ll ask Song Chi to go for me."

"Okay, sounds good."

The online debate about ’Variety’ and Zhou Yun lasted three to four days. Because neither side responded or commented, the hype gradually diminished. However, after this incident, many people have come to dislike ’Variety,’ but what consequences this dislike might have is yet to be seen. Many things are outcomes accumulated over time.

’Variety,’ being such an established magazine with far-reaching influence, won’t be toppled by just one incident, but what impact this might have on it, no one knows.

When news about Zhou Yun needing to take leave from the crew spread, Hugh Redman was the first to shout about having Zhou Yun treat them to a meal.

"With you leaving, our filming tasks become heavier, you must treat us to a meal," Hugh Redman said.

Zhou Yun naturally agreed with a smile.

During their meal, Chris Pine checked his phone and suddenly exclaimed.

"Xiao Yun, the Berlin Film Festival is organizing a special screening event for you? And all jury members will attend?" Chris Pine asked.

His question surprised even shocked the others.

Zhou Yun said, "Huh? Has the Berlin Film Festival officially released this news?"

Chris Pine nodded and said, "Yes, it was just released. They said they’re very pleased to announce this special screening event for a remarkably talented actress and eagerly await her arrival at the Berlin Film Festival to enjoy this film gathering together."

Zhou Yun was delighted and laughed.

"Why did they say it so exaggeratedly?"
