Compared to their own group’s embarrassing situation, Yun Ran and Dragon Spirit were comfortable inside the carriage.

The Young Prince finally understood why Yun Ran and Dragon Spirit had taken the carriage and immediately became so angry his neck bulged.

"So, these two knew it would rain, and although we are in the same group, they didn’t even give us a heads-up!"

He couldn’t believe Dragon Spirit couldn’t sense the weather change and just watched them suffer with indifference.

After cursing silently, the Young Prince was clearly still not over it and continued to complain, "What a bad heart they have!"

Yun Ran naturally heard the commotion outside the carriage, but she didn’t care at all. She put on earplugs and snuggled into the blanket to continue sleeping.

As for Dragon Spirit, he hadn’t slept at all and was meditating while listening to the Young Prince’s grievances outside.

He directly lifted the curtains of the carriage window and snorted coldly, "Out traveling, and you can’t even read the weather. Blame me?"

Everyone else: ...

These words were indeed a slap in their faces, but they really had no rebuttal.

Watching the previously resentful individuals suddenly expedite their tasks, Dragon Spirit coldly snorted again and forcefully drew the carriage curtains shut.

That night, only Yun Ran had a good sleep; the others were tossed and turned by the heavy rain, ending up in quite a mess.

In the morning, Yun Ran awoke, stretched comfortably, lifted the curtain, and jumped off the carriage.

The air after the rain was especially fresh, lifting everyone’s spirits.

Dragon Spirit, seeing Yun Ran get up, quickly brought her breakfast after she finished washing up.

Noticing Dragon Spirit’s clearly schadenfreude expression, Yun Ran merely glanced at him sideways and accepted the breakfast to eat.

Yun Ran’s lack of reaction made Dragon Spirit a bit exasperated, "Why don’t you ask me what happened?"

After a bowl of porridge, Yun Ran felt warm all over.

"The expression on your face is so obvious, it’s practically screaming, ’Come ask me!’ Don’t I know you? Even if I don’t ask, you’ll tell me anyway."

So why waste her breath saying an extra word?

Dragon Spirit: ...

"You really are... fine, I won’t argue about the trivial stuff, but let me tell you, I watched quite a show last night!"

Without needing Yun Ran to probe further, Dragon Spirit started telling his story.

If it was just getting rained on, it wouldn’t be a big deal; everyone on this trip was skilled and strong enough not to be affected.

But their misfortune was not anticipating the heavy rain, which led to a lack of precaution during the night’s rest.

Ultimately, it resulted in many of their supplies being soaked through by the rain; some items that absolutely couldn’t touch rainwater were now ruined.

Even for Azure Dragon and others, who were not short on money or resources, the oversight felt like a significant slap in the face.

Especially at dawn, when Dragon Spirit descended dry from the carriage and prepared breakfast for Yun Ran using his own equipment.

The invisible pressure and bravado infuriated the conceited Young Prince to the point of distorting his nose.

Dragon Spirit clearly held a grudge from earlier when he was trapped and could only hold it back for Yun Ran’s collaboration with them.

Now, being able to openly take a jab at them, the exhilaration made every pore of his body cheer.

After finishing the last bit of food, Yun Ran spoke, "Alright, take it easy, don’t really anger them halfway into retaliation.

After all, they gave us a lot of supplies. If we make them mad, where else would I find generous enough people to freeload?"

At this moment, Dragon Spirit genuinely admired Yun Ran for her ’fairness’ to continue freeloading.

"Fine, I’ll restrain myself, but if they’re just too incompetent, I can’t help it."

After the sky brightened fully, the caravan resumed its journey and quickly left the One-Line Sky location.

Just when Yun Ran thought they would reach their destination smoothly, an unexpected turn occurred.

The carriage abruptly halted without any warning, causing Yun Ran to lurch forward and spill half of her tea.

At that moment, Yun Ran sensed an extremely intense murderous aura.

Yun Ran put down the teacup and stood up to lift the curtain, finding Dragon Spirit already at the front of her carriage.

"Didn’t you say that the ’Xiao’ banner was highly respected, making both black and white factions bow? And it’s only the second day!"

Dragon Spirit felt somewhat awkward, but he considered himself a bit unlucky, what he had researched was indeed like that; who knew the information had so much embellishment.

"You can’t blame me, I’m not a local, how would I know they were exaggerating."

The caravan guards had all drawn their swords and were on high alert.

The murderous aura became increasingly solid, but neither Yun Ran nor Dragon Spirit really regarded the threat seriously.

"They must be targeting the caravan; it has nothing to do with us, let’s return to the carriage."

Dragon Spirit’s clearly detached attitude surprised Yun Ran, she thought Dragon Spirit would rush out to show off.

"What kind of look is that? I’m not an idiot, why would I rush out now? True experts always appear last!"

Yun Ran: ...

Turns out, Dragon Spirit was just putting on airs, she thought he learned to keep a low profile.

"Whatever suits you, I’ll just stay here and watch, being inside the carriage all the time gets boring, let’s watch the excitement."

Upon hearing this, Dragon Spirit immediately felt that it seemed okay and miraculously pulled out a large bag of sunflower seeds to show her.

"Watching performances without eating sunflower seeds is half as fun!"

Yun Ran looked at the bag of seeds larger than her head, her expression turning somewhat odd.

"Don’t you think you’re becoming more like Ginsengfruit, pulling things out of nowhere?"

This kind of compliment might as well not be given!

Dragon Spirit immediately showed a fake smile, "Thanks for your compliment!"

The two then harmoniously began cracking sunflower seeds, completely ignoring the tense atmosphere enveloping the entire caravan.

"Whir, whir, whir..."

A gust of wind blew in, carrying a faint scent of blood.

Soon after, countless birds, as if startled by something, began flapping their wings frantically to escape.

Yun Ran quickly pulled out a paper umbrella to shield herself as a flock of birds flew overhead, it’s easy to get unlucky if not careful!
