Chapter 120 - 119: Morgan Qrow
Chapter 120: Chapter 119: Morgan Qrow
Inside the house of Sol, AJ sat on one of the chairs, observing the items in the living.
While doing that, AJ noticed a portrait of what appeared to be a child Sol in the midst of six other children standing in front of an adult male human and an adult human woman.
"Sorry for the wait." Sol’s voice sounded.
AJ turned to the direction of the voice and saw Sol walking while carrying a tray with two cups on it.
Sol brought down one of the cups and handed one to AJ.
"Banana tea?" Sol said.
"Thank you." AJ said as he took the cup from Sol.
Sol walked towards one of the chairs and sat down.
"Now, I’m not going to waste your time much, but you should really be wary of your opponent, tomorrow." Sol said as she crossed her leg, "Remember when I warned you in the infimary after our match that there would be opponents far stronger than me including scary ones as well? Well, this one is one of them."
"Well, I-I am aware of that." AJ replied, "I got news of what she did to Billy, Loah and Rachel... And I’ve met her in person."
"You have?" Sol asked as she slightly tilted her head to the left.
"Well, y-yeah." AJ answered, "She seemed so polite and well mannered but there was... Something wrong. Like my instincts were telling is not right with her... Like she was evil or something."
"Well, your instincts were right. Looks like you’re not as stupid as I thought." Sol said, "If I’m to describe that bitch, I’d say she’s a demon wearing a woman’s face.
Her heart is so black and cold. She’s extremely inhumane."
"Tell me..." Sol continued as she took a sip from her tea, "Do you know anything about Harrison academy?"
"Harrison academy...?" AJ whispered as he brought his head down, "Harrison..."
"There was... There was one thing I heard my school teachers talk about when it came to that school and it was about the infamous reaction of a ’demon’." AJ continued as he raised his head back at Sol.
"That ’demon’ was no other than Morgan." Sol replied, "She was the incident that made that school popular for the wrong reasons."
"H-huh?" AJ said in confusion.
"And in case you want to ask something like how do I know or if I was told the story, I know because I was her schoolmate at that time.
Oh, and her name back then wasn’t Morgan Qrow... It was Elizabeth."
"Elizabeth Rockchild." Sol continued speaking as her irises glowed.
Hearing that information, AJ was completely caught off guard.
"..."
"Elizabeth... Rockchild? B-but that last name is the name of a wealthy family!" AJ continued, "H-how did she get involved in an incident so terrible, and why would she even participate in something like ero-wrestling?
Her family is rich! There’s no reason for her to be in something like this!"
"True... Her family is wealthy." Sol said, "Many people know that the Rockchild family were so rich that the patriarch believed he had enough wealth to contest with the twelve families until reality hit him hard and the family went ’broke’.
But their kind of broke isn’t our kind of broke (that’s the wealthy for you)."
"Anyway, back to what I was saying." Sol said as she placed her cup on the table, "Morgan is a cold hearted demon but Elizabeth herself was a sweetheart.
Despite coming from a wealthy family, Elizabeth never looked down on anyone. She was humble and awkward but that nature of hers made her a target of bullying by other rich children."
"Elizabeth wasn’t one for violence. As a matter of fact, she hated it." Sol said as she leaned back against her chair, "She had a view that people who resort to violence are nothing more than barbarians and it is never the answer to a problem.
That’s right... That same Morgan that mutilated the mouth of whoever that guy was was once that same Elizabeth."
Sol exhaled and continued speaking.
"But of course, not everyone shared her worldview. No matter how she tried in resolving things peacefully between her and her bullies, it wasn’t working.
She even tried going to the school authorities for help but they did nothing."
"So... What happened next?" AJ asked.
"Isn’t that obvious?" Sol asked, "After enduring everything for too long, she finally reached her breaking point and snapped.
And what happened next was not a pretty sight."
A flashback takes of a pre-teen Elizabeth who had a bow at the back of her hair and was wearing a short sleeve buttoned top, black skirt, leggings and shoes, being soaked in blood and panting heavily.
Her eyes were blank with rage.
’Yeah, it was clearly not pretty.’
Surrounding Elizabeth were bodies of other pre teens that were mangled and soaked in blood, laying half dead on the ground.
After the remembrance, Sol lifted her eyes to gaze at AJ.
"The Harrison academy had a school court and they took her there to be tried for her actions as they were deemed inhumane." Sol said, "They said she went too far and that they can’t decide if her actions were that of a person, animal or demon.
Of course when they asked her about what she had to say for herself, I can’t forget what she said or how she acted."
Another flashback takes place as pre-teen Elizabeth stood in the school trial in front of the teachers, student and her parents.
Her head was tilted down and her face overshadowed.
"What do I have to say for myself?" Elizabeth asked, "I remember how I came to you. I remember how I kept coming to you and begging for your help.
I remember how I cried about the bullying and pleaded for an intervention but you did nothing.
You simply told me to ’ignore them’ and I should ’understand where they are coming from’.
You even told me that they liked me and that’s why they are picking on me.
I tried so hard to put up with the harassment... The violence... Yet when I finally react, I am the bad guy?"
The words of Elizabeth made some of the parents in the courts exchanged uncomfortable glances at each other.
"Fine." Elizabeth said, "I did it-"
"And I liked it!" Elizabeth continued as she lifted her head, revealing a disturbing smile while her irises glowed.
Her sudden admission and disturbing visage brought a shocked and horrified gasp from the people.
"Heck, I loved it!" Elizabeth said, making the people gasp again.
"And I would do it all again." Elizabeth said smugly as she slightly tilted her head to the right, "Ten times, twenty times, thirty, fourty, fifty, sixty, seventy, eighty, ninety, a hundred, two hundred, and I’ll do it all with a smile on my face."
’The verdict was given and Elizabeth was expelled from Harrison academy.’
After the recollection, AJ stared at her with a visage filled with many emotions.
"What?" Sol asked.
"N-nothing..." AJ answered, "It’s just... It just-"
"That you feel her expulsion was unjustified?" Sol asked.
"N-no... I don’t know... I.." AJ replied.
"You’re free to think that." Sol said, "Many believe it was deserved. Many also believed that it was the fault of the adults and they had all failed her... That all of this could have been avoided if the adults and authorities behaved like one."
Sol picked up her cup and sipped on her tea again.
"Her parents did nothing?" AJ asked, "She must have told them, right? For her to say that no one intervened."
"I believe so." Sol replied, "Her parents did try to talk things out with the headmistress but she wasn’t having it.
She called the look in Elizabeth’s eyes the look of a soon-to-be murderer and the scary part is that she wasn’t wrong."
"Wasn’t wrong?" AJ asked in confusion.
"You see, you can make a case that the adults in her life failed her and I and many others would agree but it doesn’t change what happened to her afterwards." Sol said, "After that incident in Harrison, she was transferred to another school but her records showed that that wasn’t the only school she got transferred to, and each of them had one thing in common... Excessive and disturbingviolence."
Hearing Sol’s explanation, AJ himself was at loss of words.
"I said it before that Elizabeth was a child who detested violence and always believed in being civil. However, the moment she tasted it coming from her own hands, she didn’t how or when to draw the line." Sol said, "Comparable to one tasting a forbidden fruit and learning how delicious it is.
Anyway as she got older, her violence had gotten so bad that she ended up in prison. The only issue is that when she got there, the suicide rates started spiking and it was so terrible that she had to be placed in a solidarity confinement."
"A-and what ... What did her parents do?" AJ asked.
"What did they do? They disowned her, of course." Sol answered, "They even once announced it in public that Elizabeth was no longer their daughter.
From what I also learnt, they never for once came to visit her in prison. Not one day.
It was like the shame was too much for them to bear and they were trying to erase a part of their lives and history."
Silence stayed in the air for some time, leading AJ to bring his head down with a sombre expression.
"How did she get out?" AJ asked.
"The great pardon." Sol answered.
"You mean that period when a large number of criminals were granted release?" AJ asked as he raised his head.
"Yeah." Sol answered, "If your name appeared on the list regardless of your crimes or how dangerous you were, you would be granted release, but the moment you’re sent back to prison again... You’ll be locked up for life with the keys thrown away... Literally."
"EBW does have a couple of ero-wrestlers that were from the great pardon and your opponent is among." Sol continued as AJ brought his head down again.
"How did she get into ero-wrestling?" AJ asked.
"Now that’s where I’m headed." Sol replied, "You see even though she was pardoned, fitting back into society was extremely difficult.
No one wanted to hire an ex convict, not to talk of someone with her records.
What was keeping her alive was somehow the money she had in her savings (surprised her parents didn’t take that from her). But even she knew that it won’t last forever.
Luckily for her, she came across the Tough Enough advertisement for ero-wrestling and not only did she apply, she made it to the main roster, passing in first batch."
"When asked what she should be called in EBW, it took some time until she chose the name Morgan Qrow." Sol continued as she sipped her tea again, "But that name wasn’t just her ring name, she made it her new name. After all, Elizabeth was disowned by her parents. She’s dead to them.
And when she stepped into the main roster, she became one of the scariest and most dangerous ero-talents the company had to offer especially on Wednesdays, earning the epithet of ’Theomen’."
"The omen?" AJ asked.
"Yeah, and it suits her." Sol said, "Not to mention that bastard can talk to crows.
I don’t know how she did and does it but they seem to do as she commands and tends to follow her around.
After making a name for herself in the company, she left and focused on running her boutiques in Manuwuge city.
Why she chose to go back to ero-wrestling, I have no idea.
Maybe it’s because she missed it. Maybe it’s because of you, but regardless this match of yours tomorrow isn’t going to be a ’CanyoubeatMorgan?’. No, it’s going to be more of a ’CanyousurviveMorgan?’ And from my honest opinion, I don’t think you can do either.
’But’ you not only survived Magoi but you also beat her, so I might wrong."
"However, one thing is certain." Sol continued as her irises glowed, "If you don’t have your shit together, then you consider your chances of survival laughable... Terribly laughable."
The duo stayed silent for a period until Sol spoke again.
"I have taken too much of your time. You should really be heading out."
AJ nodded and stood from his seat.
"Thank you for informing me this and the hospitality." AJ said as he bowed his head.
"By the way, please don’t forget to rate me five stars and give me a good review." AJ said while grinning with his eyes closed.
Sol stared at the AJ for a moment and sighed.
"Sure, sure, sure." Sol nonchalantly said.
AJ walked towards the door and Sol followed after him to open it and watch him leave.
As soon as AJ had entered the van, he waved at Sol and drove off.
Despite AJ leaving, Sol continued to stare at the thin air of his direction and had a quick memory of her child self and Elizabeth in the Harrison academy uniform.
"Don’t you know that those who use violence as a way to settle things are nothing more than barbarians?" Elizabeth said as she pointed at Sol while pouting, "We must always use our words. There always has to be a better way to reach people without resorting to hurting each other."
The memory of Sol’s childhood moment was suddenly overlapped with her battered adult self laying in an alley with blood gushing out of the back of her head.
Her eyes were dull and her face pale from the injuries.
During that moment, several crows cawed and footsteps echoed.
"My, my, my. Look at the state of you. Pathetic if you ask me." Morgan’s voice sounded.
The blood flowing out of the back of
Sol’s head reflected the shadow of Morgan’s face invertedly.
"Don’t tell me you are done." Morgan continued, "We still have much to-"
"Discuss." Morgan said as Sol’s blood reflected her irises glowing.
