Chapter 104: Chapter 103: New level

The Internet became flooded with comments after the triple threat.

Pinger, B-cube and several other sites were overwhelmed with comments of the participants as some were positive, some negative and some mixed:

"That match was awesome!"

"A 10 out of 10"

"So far that match was the only good thing this day"

"The match was boring. The pet won"

"Of course, the nepo-bastard won due to her opponents behaving stupidly. Who would have guessed?"

"Go Caesar!"

"Eren got robbed hard"

"Caesar sucks"

"Eren should have won. Fuck you, Cassius"

"I hope EBW doesn’t agree to this sham of a victory? Eren should have won plus I bet my kids school fees on this"

"Another win for the privileged, huh. Honestly, that pet should just get out of the company."

"Cassius, our expectations were low but holy fuck! How do you fumble this bad?"

"How tf do you hire people and still lose?"

"This is the first time I have seen someone reverse a marking point attempt like Caesar"

"If you ever think you are dumb, just remember Cassius"

"Caesar is the greatest"

"For someone who this was supposed to be his final match before he takes his leave of absence, Eren was done dirty"

"The Mizukai nepo once again gaining victories she didn’t earn"

"If I had a rux coin every time Cassius screwed shit up, I’d be a billionaire by now"

"Did anyone notice Eren behaving strange?"

"The fumbling of Cassius needs to be studied because how does one screw up this bad?"

"Not gonna lie, that final pin from Caesar was hot"

"For all those who are fans of that Mizukai pet, I hope you sleep on scorched pillows"

Meanwhile outside the EBW medical room, a male beastfolk medic was speaking to the EBW talent and logistics manager - Amalia Xin.

"You requested for my attention?" Amalia asked.

"Yes. It’s concerning Eren Brock." The medic answered.

"What about him? Are his injuries so bad that our equipment can’t fix it?" Amalia asked.

"No. No, our equipment can fixed them. If given him a few days and he’ll be perfectly out on the road." The medic answered again.

"So what is the problem?" Amalia asked with an arched brow.

"It’s.... It’s just... He has been poisoned." The medic answered.

Amalia stayed silent for a while, trying to make sense of what was just revealed.

"What?"

"Our machines detected strong readings of poison in his blood stream, and it heavily affected him in his match." The doctor said, "From what we learnt, it’s a day old which means it’s slow but thankfully it wasn’t lethal."

"That’s odd. EBW has a good screener for drugs and compromised healths of talents." Amalia said as she crossed her arms, "If he was poisoned, it should have been able to detect it."

"Unfortunately, it didn’t detect this one." The doctor replied, "Our equipment are good but everything has it’s limits no matter how great or advance they are."

"So what kind of poison is it? The type that could bypass our systems and let us allow a compromised talent to fight in the ring?" Amalia asked with an arched brow.

"From my experience, there are only a few non lethal poisons that are capable of doing such but the signs matched the tellanix."

The revelation of the beastfolk’s words made Amalia’s eyes widen in shock.

"Tellanix? That’s impossible...! How did he get in contact with it? That thing is banned in seventy-nine cities including this city Manuwuge!" Amalia said.

"I don’t know. Someone could have dropped some in his food or knowing the type of person Eren is, he must have gotten into a fight with someone possessing it and out of the desperation and fear for his or her life, the person used it on him."

"The poison was already wearing him down before notice, subtly making him weaker. It just came full force during his match" The doctor continued as Amalia titled her head down and turned her face away, "He was heavily compromised."

Amalia furrowed her brows and subtly clenched her fists.

"The tellanix itself isn’t fatal but the injuries he accumulated especially from the masked attackers makes it difficult to treat him properly." The medic said, "Will he be fine? Yes, but it might take a week or two for our equipment to restore him. Not to mention, he’ll still be in a coma because of the poison effect for months."

Amalia still stayed quiet for some minutes before she turned her gaze back to the doctor.

"I understand. Thank you for letting me know about this." Amalia said, "Treat him properly..."

Amalia turned her back on the doctor and started walking forward.

"I’ll try and gather intelligence to get to the roots of this." Amalia said with a scowl as her irises glowed.

The two days later in Bellwa city, within the halls of the Mizukai mansion, Caesar stood in front of the Mizukais, gazing up at them as they sat upon their chairs like royalties.

"Congratulations." Toma said with a smirk to Caesar, "You exceeded the expectations of many once again and won."

"True. The eyes of everyone were on that barbarian but somehow she managed to take the victory." Rin replied Toma while keeping her gaze fixed on Caesar.

"Though, I must say she wouldn’t have gotten that victory if that animal wasn’t attacked by outsiders and if that fool didn’t ’sell’ him out." Akari said with an elegant cold smirk, "It seems her opponents are becoming more foolish around her."

"Not that it’s not a good thing." Akari continued as Toma and Rin turned their sights to her, "It is but we really need to talk about it for moment.

First it was Damien who had her beaten and for some reason, wanted to repeat his technique and ended up staring at the audience like there was something interesting there.

Now it was Cassius who used underhanded tactics to seize control of the match, and when it was in his palm, he ended up compromising himself."

"All I’m saying is that if she keeps winning based on her opponents stupidity, then it will weaken her credibility." Akari said as she slowly fanned herself, "We cannot keep relying on that, now, can we?"

"I do not know, elder sister." Gendo said to Akari with a yawn, "The beastfolk did quite well considering the people she was facing.

Whether her opponent was robbed and the other foolish doesn’t matter. I for one found her resilience and battle IQ impressive... Especially at the last moments."

"They were impressive." Rin replied Gendo, "Not only were they impressive but this this month, the beastfolk’s pay has drastically increased.

When she first entered even though she skipped the due process, she was still in the lowest rank. Her pays from her first two losses were still higher than her months of trying to pay back the debts."

"When she had her first victory last week against Damien, she recieved the winners bonus that EBW offers their match winner." Rin continued speaking as she adjusted her glasses, "But now... Now with this match and her rising popularity, our ’representative’ here has managed to enter a new rank."

"A new rank, elder sister?" Akari asked with a raised brow.

"Yes, a new rank." Rin answered, "This month, our little beastfolk managed to skip a step and entered into a higher rank... ’Themidcardrank’."

"Hmmm! That’s interesting!" Toma said to Rin with a grin.

"It is. And it is impressive, too." Rin replied, "Normally before ero-wrestlers can get to mid card, they have to move from the under card rank to the upper under card. And to even do that can take years, ’yet’ Caesar did was able to skip that step and reach that status."

"She didn’t begin her ero-career at the beginning of last month yet she did something many haven’t done and even took years to do." Rin continued as Raizan slightly tilted his head.

"Putting many ero-wrestlers to shame." Rin continued speaking as Akari struggled to maintain her smile.

"Now, we can negotiate her payments on a mid-card level but not her bonuses." Rin said as she glanced at Raizan, "That is exclusive for the main eventers.

Should she keep up her momentum, she will no doubt enter that rank, and perhaps..."

"Win a title to become the face of the company." Rin continued as Caesar bowed her head down, "And of course, with all that success, she will in no doubt pay off the debt and be free."

"But do not forget, beastfolk." Rin said as she narrowed her eyes, "Until you’ve paid off your parents debts, ninety percent of your EBW payments still goes to us. The remaining ten is yours is to keep."

The family’s gaze sat on the eldest Raizan as he stayed quiet during their discussion.

"I must say... I am impressed." Raizan said to Caesar, "I did not expect you to win neither did I care if you did as long as you performed well and you did.

You exceeded my expectations and won."

"And it is just as Rin said, keep up your momentum and you will be free from us." Raizan continued as Akari subtly gritted her teeth in her efforts to control her anger.

"You may go now." Raizan said as he leaned back on his chair.

Caesar nodded her head in response and turned her back to walk away with the guards escorting her.

While she was walking, both her and Akari’s irises simultaneously glowed.
