Chapter 217: Oh. . . No. . . My baby. . .

"No. . . wait. . ." Mira called out softly, fear tickling at ever word she uttered.

"NO!" Ming Tao yelled. It did not take long for Mira to be surrounded by cheetah beast people and it got her heart racing.

Mira wanted to stay calm. She tried to but having Ming Tao panic and call for people who just surrounded her made the realisation hit harder. The best way for her to stay calm was not be bothered and stay put but he was ordering her away to be looked after. Mira was not sure if Ming Tao did not know this but a patient’s heart rate mostly dropped when a doctor was present in the room and she was surrounded by so many beast world doctors and pregnancy nurses.

It only made her worry and assume her situation way worse than it was. Actually, her situation was terrible but because she had system, she could overcome it.

"Ming Tao, seeing so many people is making me restless and uncomfortable. I can stand." Mira managed to say despite the fear that clawed into her mind.

Ming Tao was not engaging in anything she was saying. "I will not let you stand here. Being here already puts you at a risk in your condition!" He replied. Ming Tao’s hand reached for his hair and he was distressed. He felt like a failure. The air was way too hot and inconvenient for a pregnant woman. He barely made it to his wife when she was pushed and now. . . He nearly lost his baby. He did not want to cave into Mira’s demands anymore and wanted to get her away from Hye Yang and the negativity that surrounded Hye Yang. "Please, let me do this one thing and take care of you."

Mira gulped. She understood where he was coming from but she needed him to understand that the best way to help her right now was not to try to help her at all. Ming Tao was evidently alarmed.

"I know, but after all of this, I can handle this alone." Mira said to Ming Tao. She turned around to the cheetahs coming closer to her. "STAY BACK! DO NOT TOUCH ME!" She raised her voice in the most polite manner she could muster despite being panicked.

"You listen to me and not my wife right now. Take her for care." Ming Tao retorted. The cheetahs looked confused but proceeded to crowd around Mira again despite her protest.

"If you come any closer!" Mira yelled. They did not listen. Nobody was listening. If they touched her, she might lose her baby but no one wanted to listen and none of these people advancing towards her had any idea that she was pregnant. "I said stay back!" Mira’s feet trembled on the ground. She took one step backwards and felt an ache on her abdomen. This made her wince.

She was panicking and doing everything system said she should not. "Ming Tao, listen to me, having them around me is not good for me."

"Ensure to handle my wife with care. She’s very delicate." Ming Tao said to the cheetahs. "Please, allow me to let them take care of you."

"YOU’RE NOT LISTENING TO ME!!" Mira screamed at him. She could not longer see his face with all the people standing before her and the ache on her stomach became more intense.

Reading this from the screen was not making Mira get any less relaxed. Everything was unfolding way too quickly for Mira and Mira began to hyper ventilate, her attempt to calm her breathing when she heard a loud smack that stopped everyone from moving. The sea of heads before her darted forward towards the direction of the slap, this diversion gave Mira the chance to see past the cheetahs.

Holding Ming Tao by his shoulder was Jia Hao and from the look of Ming Tao’s face bent to the side and Jia Hao’s fierce look, Mira guessed that Jia Hao had hit Ming Tao right across the face.

"Your wife is speaking to you, stop panicking and listen to her!" Jia Hao uttered in a frustrated groan. He understood where Ming Tao was coming from, he knew how utterly deranged he would be too if he was in this situation but one thing he knew was to always listen to his wife and right now, she said what was best for her and the baby was staying put so that cheetah needed to listen to the mother of the child! She knew better than anyone what she needed the most.

The sting on Ming Tao’s cheeks burned. It made his brain bit a reset. "Stay away from my wife and listen to what she says." Ming Tao ordered.

The cheetah people had a lot of questions which they shared through exchanged glances but did not say a word. They began to walk back into the crowd of the mixed tribes little by little till none of them were around Mira.

This gave Mira the chance to steady her breathing past hyper ventilating and her head was beginning to settle down. She felt a release of her muscles and realised that the pain she felt earlier must have been a muscle clasp.

This made Mira let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you." She muttered to Jia Hao. She was mad that Ming Tao did not listen to her but now, her aggression was mainly directed towards someone else. The woman who was still pinned to the ground awaiting her branding and after what she just pulled, Mira would ensure than Hye Yang would never escape her torment for the rest of her life.
