Mira felt a force push her body backwards within the blink of an eye.

She also inhaled something as well. Something that she had never inhaled so far in the air and she could not fathom what that strong scent could be.

The screen above Mira made her realise what Hye Yang had done. Her sister. . . . At the very last moment of her life attempted to poison her and kill her baby.

Mira could not even fathom the level of wickedness this Hye Yang had in her blood. Exile was only mercy to Hye Yang at this point.

Mira let out a scream as her body still fell forward. The push made her body shift backwards a distance before she was about to hit the ground and it happened in such a short while that she could not process how to even set her feet on the ground to regain her stamina.

Just then, Mira felt the brush of wind swoop past her body and a hand secured her from hitting the ground. With her heart beating heavily in her chest and breathing heavy and fast, she gripped onto the hand that stopped her fall in fear. Mira turned to look at the one who caught her. He held her up with an angry expression on his face.

This made Mira swallow. It was Alpha Wolf Wei Jie, her own husband who still despised her.

"Are you okay?" Wei Jie asked in a worried tone. His face was still hardened with wrath yet he talked to her warmly. This was the first time that Alpha Wolf had communicated with her like she was a proper human being.

Mira nodded her head vigorously, still phased by what she read on the screen as Hye Yang pushed her. "I think I am." Mira blurted out then coughed. She put her hand over her lips so her cough does not settle right before Alpha Wolf Wei Jie’s face but the wetness of her palm stunned her. Mira looked at the palm she coughed on. Blood.

It was blood. Hye Yang had actually tried to poison her and get rid of her child.

Wei Jie’s nose creased. He immediately perceived Mira’s blood and his eyes darkened. He helped Mira to stand up. "If you cannot raise yourself, hold onto me." Wei Jie said to Mira.

Mira clung onto his hand till she stood on both her feet and Wei Jie ensured that she was standing upright before letting go of her. By now, the cheetah warriors were holding Hye Yang to the ground. Her body was pinned flat and both of her hands were secured behind her back but Hye Yang managed to smile as she raised her head to look at Mira’s legs.

Hye Yang had expected to see blood trail down Mira’s legs. She wanted to cause a scene and reveal the death of the Mighty Cheetah’s unborn true born child that seemed to not have been revealed to the people yet but her brows furrowed into confusion when she did not sight any blood.

Not a single drop had touched the ground. Hye Yang struggled to raise her head higher to look at Mira’s thighs but they both looked clean too.

This could not be! Hye Yang thought, That concoction was so powerful that it would make an elephant have a miscarriage! Why was Mira Yang still unfazed??!! WHY WAS SHE NOT WRITHING IN PAIN ON THE GROUND AS SHE BLED HER BABY AWAY??!!

Hye Yang’s brows narrowed into pure rage. It was irritating to know that she had always been unlucky yet her sister was lucky even now. Nothing else could be a reasonable explanation to justify why Mira was not bleeding unless Mira had another sorcerer backing her up who had her protected. Now that would make a lot more sense but if that was the case, Hye Yang was in big trouble because the sorcerer could show up at once and reveal what she had planned to do to the wife of the mighty cheetah.

If Mira had a sorcerer, then it would mean that the sorcerer would have felt the change in Mira’s body once Mira had inhaled the toxin.

Hye Yang began to shake. She wondered if Mira’s sorcerer was no sorcerer at all but the shaman who was in their midst.

"You dare try to harm my wife before me?!" Jia Hao thundered in a roar. Mira was right in front of him but he had not reacted fast enough to catch up to her. His body was still fazed by the unhealed and not fully healed wounds he sustained from the fight with the rogues and that rendered his body movement slowed. Then there was Ming Tao who did not understand how the mother of his child had been by his side one second then not at the very next second. If Wei Jie had not gotten to Mira as soon as he did. . . . Ming Tao did not want to imagine what would have happened next.

"Forget the sentence. Kill her. I want that woman dead." Ming Tao uttered without thinking. His bones began to crack as she shifted into his beast.

Mira watched from the spot she was pushed to, her hand clutched round her belly. She was too scared to move, she did not want to do anything that would make the regeneration process slowed and cause a fatality that she feared.

Mira’s child had not been born yet but she was already attached to the baby and so was the baby’s father. The one thing she feared the most now more than ever was losing this life growing in her womb. "Ming Tao. . ." Mira called out, her voice laced with terror. "That woman poisoned me when she pushed me." Mira whispered through trembling lips.

Ming Tao’s head immediately darted towards Mira and he ran to her then shifted into his human form and stood by her side. Although he wanted to kill Hye Yang, his wife was his first priority before anything else.

Ming Tao studied Mira’s form, he trailed his eyes and hands all over her body till his hand rested on her stomach. He felt the roundness of her stomach then let out a sigh of relief. This was before Mira showed Ming Tao her palm, the one she coughed in.

"Hye Yang tried to get rid of our baby when she pushed me." Mira muttered to him in a low tone. "She poisoned me when she pushed me, Ming Tao." Mira whispered again, her head was a chaotic, terrified mess as the scene replayed in her head. Her sister had not only tried to end her life once, but three times now and even at a very terrible time for Hye Yang, even after begging for Mira to show her mercy, she still tried to get rid of the one soul that had never even been born yet to cause Hye Yang any harm.

Alpha Wolf Wei Jie felt his body hair stand with fury. He had watched every single thing that had been displayed with hope that some of it was false but they all ended up being true, but now. . . . Now that he had witnessed Hye Yang try to do something so diabolical in front of so many people, not a single thought of sympathy for her crossed his mind any longer.

Hye Yang needed to go and whether voodoo she had done to make him believe her and trust in her blindly in the past had completely worn off from Alpha Wolf Wei Jie’s eyes.

"Somebody get the healers! Now! I want every healer in the cheetah clan to come and take a good look at my wife and report every single thing to me this instant!" Ming Tao yelled. Panic was in his tone and suddenly, he did not trust the roundness of Mira’s stomach anymore. He needed midwives to check in on his baby. . . . On their baby. . .

Ming Tao’s head was beginning to be a complete disaster. "DID NOBODY HEAR ME?! Gather every mid wife and healer and get my wife properly checked and taken care of this instant!" Ming Tao yelled aloud. The crowd began to murmur words full of questions and certain cheetahs began to move forward from the crowd. Ming Tao knew Mira and him wanted to keep this baby a secret till they were ready to reveal it to the entire beast tribe but now was not the time to be reasonable. He did not want to take any chances when it came to the health of his most beloved wife and his baby.

He really wanted to be a father. He had longed for that his entire life since he was a proper beast man and ruler but now, more than ever, all he was concerned about was his wife’s wellbeing.
