Chapter 206: Her confession

At the mention of the Lion King, Mira felt her heart beat go faint. She had not seen Jia Hao for the longest time and the last time that they met, she thought he had gone on an important quest only to find out that he had not.

Mira felt her teeth clench. Her fingers tightened into a rock and her grit teeth began to hurt. Hye Yang knew the exact words to say to get Mira to want break and it pissed Mira off so damn much. She was tempted to tell the Shaman to keep going and torture her sister even more but she really wanted to hear about her husband.

"Free her, but only for a little while and do not break the connection you have with her mind because I do not trust her." Mira stated out loud. Ming Tao looked just as tense.

When his other two warriors which he had sent to find the Lion King had returned without any lion king, Ming Tao had been worried since then and did not say a word to Mira. Now, Hye Yang saying this also got to him. He was torn between rage and the urgency to know the truth.

Although he knew that if the shaman kept on revealing Hye Yang’s memories, it would give a sure clue on Jia Hao’s whereabouts and what had happened to him but he also felt that Hye Yang should speak as she would be more current about Jia Hao’s whereabouts and he did not want to waste any more time by searching her mind. Ming Tao immediately settled on the decision. He wanted to know more about where Jia Hao was and quickly. Worst case scenario was that Hye Yang had him captured and sent to the other side of the region but could that even be possible?

Surely the other side which they had stayed clear from would not want to rage a war by having the Lion King, one of the rulers of this beast region in their midst. All of these possibilities made Ming Tao nearly lose his mind. He wanted to hear Hye Yang speak now more than ever.

Especially when he did not want to accept the slightest possibility that Jia Hao had been dead. Ming Tao immediately shook his head. That would not be a news he wanted to hear nor accept at all.

"Do as my wife says." Ming Tao stated, a rush and urgency in his tone. "I want to know about the lion king too!"

He added. Ming Tao looked up, to anyone watching, it would be like he was staring into empty space but he knew who he was looking up to. In their hidden spot were the other important guests he spoke about, still waiting for the right time to make their presence known and the right time was hearing from what Hye Yang had just uttered.

"Yes, oh great one." The shaman responded. He took a deep breath then shifted his body backwards a bit. He was still crouched and his back was still slanted forward to face Hye Yang, his fingers were still connected to her forehead but he was in a much relaxed pose than before.

Hye Yang let out a heavy sigh, panting and quivering. She looked utterly beat up and sweat trickled down every bit of her body.

"Thank you!" She blurted out like someone desperate for peace after living a very hardened life.

"Speak. It is the only reason why you were given ease." Mira said to Hye Yang, her tone spiteful. She looked at the shaman and questioned. "Are you still connected to her mind?" Mira asked him.

"Yes, wife of the great one." The shaman responded.

"And does she speak honestly? Will you know if she tells a lie?" Mira asked. Hye Yang had not started talking but Mira needed to be sure that the woman would not lie.

"Do not worry, she will not dare to lie. Her mind is so weakened and strained and as long as her mind is so broken and in pain, her body will obey to break free from the torture. If something goes wrong and she lies, I will not hesitate to inform you and make it right so please, rest assured great wife of the great one and trust in me." The shaman said to Mira.

Mira made a face. All that talk for ’no she cannot lie for I will know and she wants an out’? Mira stated boredly in her mind, this man can host a talk show, yikes! Mira said to herself.

[ In my opinion, it is better to satisfy your doubts that respond with an answer that will only lead to more questions, host! ] system chimed.

[ I mean, I am sure your pregnant self would be even more irritated if you needed to push further with questions. So take it easy on the man, host! ]

Mira made a face, she hated that system was right about this.

For now, I agree with you, Mira said to system in her mind.

[ Hehehe. But of course, when am I ever wrong or not agreeable with? ]

Mira had so much to say to system regarding that statement but she just kept her mouth shut. She knew that if she began responding to system, that the list would not end anytime soon and this conversation was the last thing she had on her priority list. She needed to know where her husband was and if he was okay.

Jia Hao was the first man to warm his way into her and he was the first man to have her spread her legs and pound into her. He was also the first man to protect her and understand her so many times. He put up with her actions and with everything she wanted and he never complained. He was also the father of her children, so yes, Mira really hoped that he was okay.

"This woman is taking so much time. Break her and reveal it to us if she would not speak!" Ming Tao yelled.

The shaman nodded. "Yes, oh great one." He muttered then focused his attention on Hye Yang. Hye Yang screamed. The change with her mind was so drastic that it felt like a lightning strike on her body.

"I did it!" Hye Yang cried out loud. "I made a deal with the beast region that would region was banned from ever getting in contact with them." Hye Yang blurted out loudly. She took a pause to catch her breath but immediately felt another jolt of lightning flow throughout her entire body. Blood spilled out of her mouth and onto the shaman’s body. Mira saw Hye Yang’s blood that fell on the shaman’s body dry up into the air like smoke till his attire was left spotless again. This made her body shake.

That was some next level witchcraft! Mira thought and she did not know when her body shifted backwards into her seat.

"I made a deal with them because I wanted my sister out of the way. I wanted to be what she was and have all the things that she had. But the deal came at a cost that I had to do or my life would have been in danger!" Hye Yang stated. "I hated to do it. . . ." She cried. "But I had to. I could not turn back and I was so caught up in my hatred that I did not want to. I needed to sacrifice the lives of our beast people or have my life taken away from me!"

The moment that Hye Yang said all of these, the crowd went into an uproar.

"She confessed!"

"Oh my goodness, so the revelation was true!"

"That fox is evil!"

"I cannot believe I stood by her all this time!"

"I cannot believe that she would do such a thing!!"

The words blended into a loud chatter amongst the beast people. Everyone was against Hye Yang.

"Keep talking." Ming Tao ordered. He did not care about all of the things she was saying, the only one he wanted to hear about was Lion King Jia Hao and the dumb fox was busy admitting to the things they had seen from her memories in the mist.

Ming Tao wanted to yell that she should shut up and say what he wanted to hear but he knew that her confession was getting the beast people circled around them to believe that Mira was innocent so he kept his protest to himself.

"That was when I had them slaughter animals and have it laced with fox scent with magic so it would not seem like a fox cub was killed and I set my sister up." Hye Yang said. Her voice was a breathy whisper right about now.

"What happened to the cub?!" Someone barked from the crowd. "Yes!! Tell us, where did all those beast people do?!!"

"And you better not forget to say what you did to the Lion King! I do not think you innocent one bit!"
