Breeder To The Brutal Alpha King

Chapter 102: Secret Boyfriend

Chapter 102: Secret Boyfriend

Kaden’s POV

The moment the door shut behind her, the heavy silence of the room collapsed on me.

Boom!

I pulled my arm back and slammed my fist straight into the stone wall. The rock cracked under my knuckles, and a shower of gray dust fell over my boots, but I barely felt the physical sting.

I was furious.

But I wasn’t angry at Rebecca. I was absolutely furious at myself.

I stood there, my forehead resting against the cold stone wall, my chest heaving as her desperate questions echoed over and over in my head. Did you use her as an excuse just so you could have me? If Rebecca dies tonight, will you actually be happy?

Gods, she actually believed it. She stood right there in front of me, trapped inside another woman’s flesh, and genuinely believed that I preferred Stephanie. She thought I was completely ready to turn off her life support machine just so I could throw her away and crawl into bed with a maid.

Inside my mind, a dark, mocking sound filled my head. My wolf let out a loud, bitter laugh, scratching at my thoughts.

’You wanted a reaction, Kaden,’ he taunted, his voice dripping with dark amusement. ’You wanted to push her to the edge to see what she would do. Well, congratulations. You got exactly what you wanted.’

I bared my fangs, growling under my breath. ’Shut up.’

But he wouldn’t. ’She is jealous, Kaden. She is completely heartbroken. She thinks you hate her true self so much that you would rather have anyone else.’

The truth of his words hit me like a physical blow. I closed my eyes, and my mind flashed back to everything that had happened. I remembered every single sacrifice Rebecca had made to protect Stephanie. She had risked my wrath, offered her body willingly just to keep that innocent maid safe from harm.

And now, I finally understood why her questions had sounded so incredibly desperate, so raw and full of agony.

She wasn’t just trying to save her friend anymore. She was grieving.

I turned around slowly, looking out the massive window at the training grounds below. Rebecca was nothing but a breeder—the woman who had taken everything from me, the woman blamed for the death of my late Queen, Helen. By all the laws of our pack, I was supposed to despise her. I was supposed to use her, punish her, and break her until there was nothing left.

But as I stared at the door she had just walked through, my jaw clenched tightly, and a dark, possessive hunger flared deep within my chest.

"Idiot woman," I muttered into the empty, quiet room, my frown deepening. "Stephanie was never the one I wanted."

I sat down heavily in my large leather chair, rubbing my aching temples as her desperate face flashed behind my eyelids.

"Please! Just give me five more days!"

Her pleas echoed loudly in my mind. She had begged for five more days, promising with everything she had that Rebecca would be back by then. She had been so completely terrified, willing to bargain anything just to buy herself some time.

Should I do it? Should I grant her those five days and watch what she does? Or should I keep pressuring her, tightening the noose until she snaps and tells me everything herself?

I leaned my head back against the chair, staring up at the ceiling. Part of me wanted to keep pushing. I wanted to see how far she would go before she finally broke. But another part of me, the more calculating part, knew I had to be careful. The seer’s warning was still loud in my head. If I pushed her too hard, her soul might leave this world completely, and I would lose her forever.

Besides, what if she was up to something fishy? I needed to find out what it was.

I have to watch her. Every single second of her day. I need to know who she talks to, where she goes, and what she does when she thinks nobody is looking. If she wants five days, I might just have to give them to her—but I will make sure those five days feel like an absolute living hell under my roof.

Suddenly, Logan’s voice cut through my thoughts, a sharp mind-link breaking my focus.

’Alpha King, the cars are ready. We have to leave right now for the emergency meeting with the Peculiar Pack.’

I let out a long, heavy sigh, rubbing the bridge of my nose. ’I’m on my way,’ I mind-linked back.

I stood up, quickly washed the dust off my hands, and changed into a fresh black shirt. I couldn’t afford to look distracted. I had to push the thoughts of Rebecca and Stephanie to the back of my mind for the rest of the day.

The entire afternoon and evening were nothing but endless, boring meetings. Dealing with neighboring Alphas who only cared about borders and trade agreements made my inner wolf highly irritable. By the time my private caravan finally drove back through the royal pack gates, the moon was already high and bright in the night sky.

The moment I stepped out of the heavy black car, Logan was already waiting for me by the entrance. His posture was stiff, and his face was completely serious.

"Alpha King," Logan greeted, bowing his head quickly. He walked beside me as I headed toward the main doors. "I have just received some new information regarding Rebecca."

I stopped walking, turning my sharp green eyes toward him. "Go on."

Logan hesitated for a split second, looking around the quiet courtyard to make sure no guards were too close. "Our spies just got back from the Blood Moon Pack. According to them... Rebecca had a secret boyfriend before you took her."

The exact moment those words left his mouth, a sudden, burning wave of pure jealousy hit me right in the gut.

My inner wolf bared his fangs, scratching wildly inside my chest. I knew it was the past. I knew she was mine now, locked in my palace as my breeder. But fuck, I was absolutely furious. The thought of another man touching her, kissing her lips, or looking into her sea-blue eyes made my blood boil.

I forced my voice to stay dead calm, though my jaw clenched so hard it ached. "Go on."
