Chapter 1823: ERROR

SLAAAASH!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

Dozens of skeletal monsters burst apart as Elayne sliced through them. She dashed into the monastery, slammed her foot into the ground, and spread her Terrain. Mushrooms, moss, withering trees, and other twisted forms of this realm’s “nature” erupted around her. She sealed the monastery door shut and turned the surging plants into a thick barricade.

“Who are you?!”

“W-What are you doing?!”

“Eh?! What’s that?!”

“RUN!”

A few people still remained inside. They panicked and screamed at her, demanding to know why she was doing this. Elayne had no time to explain. She shouted for them to flee, and they did, once they saw the enormous skeletal hands clawing up the monastery walls.

The Class Change Stone was not far, but six people were in immediate danger: three skeletons and three young White Ghost priestesses. Elayne clenched her teeth and rushed toward them instead of the room holding the stone.

“Elayne?!” Mark called out, confused by her choice. “Wait, we must prioritize—”

“These people are in danger and it’s all my fault! I won’t let them die! I won’t!” Elayne roared.

Sailor, now finished healing, leaped off her back. He shaped his water magic into chains and seized her.

“I get it, but we need you to get stronger, boss! So go ahead!”

“Uwaaah?!”

Elayne cried out as Sailor lifted her high and hurled her toward the building containing the Class Change Stone. She crashed through the ceiling.

CRAAASH!

“Sailor! You damn bastard!” Mark snarled. He would have attacked him right then if he weren’t already locked in combat with the monsters.

“Look,” Sailor said calmly.

The bone monsters abruptly changed direction. They ignored the fleeing people and surged toward Elayne instead.

“They want her! Now let’s go—we’ll follow right behind and pincer the motherfuckers!”

“You’re one reckless son of a bitch,” Yaga sighed. “But you’re not bad at quick thinking, Sailor. Someone like you is an invaluable ally!”

“Hah, thank you, granny! Want me to lift you up?” Sailor grinned.

“No, I can handle this,” Granny Yaga replied.

She floated into the air on a ghostly aura. Three grimoires materialized around her, pages flipping rapidly as dozens of runes flared to life.

“I’ll fight too, even if these old bones aren’t what they used to be…! I am not some defenseless old lady like you think! Nobody lives as long as I have without learning a trick or two!”

.

.

.

CRASH!

Elayne smashed through the ceiling of the Class Change Temple. Rubble and shattered wood rained down as she landed hard in front of the Class Change Stone. Fortunately, the room was empty, no one had been inside when the ceiling collapsed.

The footsteps of the Bone Monsters grew louder. They began smashing the door, while others climbed the walls and aimed for the hole she had created.

“That idiot Sailor—what does he think he’s doing?!” Elayne fumed, teeth clenched, rage boiling inside her. Yet she knew there was no time to dwell on it. She rushed toward the Class Change Stone.

“Damn it! One thing after another, all my fault! And I can’t do a single thing to change anything! It’s so frustrating I’m going mad! How long do I have to endure this?! How long?!”

She struck the stone in her fury, nearly shattering it. Cracks spiderwebbed across its surface, and panic instantly replaced her anger.

“A-Ah! Oops? H-Hahah… Um, System, I hope this isn’t bad— Aaaaahhh?!”

BBZZZTTTT!

A strange translucent energy erupted from the cracks. Glitching numbers, letters, and incomprehensible messages engulfed her.

“D-Did I break it?! I did! Oh no, no, no!”

She thrust her hands into the fractures, desperately trying to contain the glitching substance. It spilled over her anyway, merging into her skin and sinking deep into her soul.

“Gaaah?! Ungh!”

Sharp, throbbing pain lanced through her entire soul. Each pulse brought flashes of alien images—another place, another time, another being.

A vast, endless darkness.

A single woman weeping as everything she loved was destroyed.

Her own creation sparing her—only to condemn her to millions of years of solitude.

Drifting through the void, her tears eventually dried. She stared into the abyss, longing for death.

Until something changed.

Countless energies and divine powers gathered from across the cosmos, converging into a single white star.

The white star opened its eyelids, revealing itself as a giant eye with a silver pupil.

Long eyelashes of white light flared outward.

Another eye appeared beside it.

She looked up in awe; face filled with disbelief.

Then a gigantic white hand emerged from the darkness, scooped her up, and lifted her toward the eyes.

Elayne heard words she could not comprehend.

“Daste baste etes dosk, teteruk, taraska hadwth dhaw.”

An alien tongue from another universe entirely.

This being was…

An Alien God.

“W-What the hell is that???”

White roots spread in every direction, absorbing the black void and blending with it.

The eyes scanned the history of this shattered reality.

Then they poured white energy into it.

Everything began to reverse.

“A-Ahhh!”

Elayne gasped and snapped back to herself. Glitching colors, letters, and numbers still swirled around her. She struggled to comprehend what she had just witnessed.

Slowly the chaos faded. She stared at the new system messages appearing before her as the glitching patterns dissolved.

She glanced at the Class Change Stone. The cracks had already sealed themselves.

“W-What just happened— Huh?!”

When she turned, she saw every Bone Monster had frozen in place. Giant mushrooms, black, purple, and red, sprouted across their bodies. Long roots burrowed into their joints, locking them completely immobile.

Clouds of spores drifted through the air.

Elayne felt her power surging. A strange new ring had formed within her Spiritual Heart.

“Wait…!”

She looked back at the system window she had momentarily ignored.

[Due to a processing error, your Class Change had been temporarily halted and the data collected was corrupted.]

[The corrupted data has been successfully recovered, but a large quantity was damaged. The system resolved the issue by merging fragments together.]

[The Corrupted, Cleansed, and Recovered Data of the [Circle Of Twilight], [Circle of Dreams], and [Circle of Spores] has been converged to create the [Circle of Mycelial Twilight].]

Elayne’s eyes widened as the words burned into her mind, glowing across the window.

[Congratulations! You have unlocked a Unique Class: [Nether Spirit Druid: Circle of Mycelial Twilight – Tier 2]]

[Your Nature Soul has been permanently altered. You now wield the combined powers of the Circle of Dreams, Circle of Twilight, and Circle of Spores.]

[Warning: This Class was not intended to exist. Unknown consequences may occur.]

“Huh?!”
