Bloodbound To My Four Archenemies.

Chapter 58: Triple problem.

June 29 2026, 10:51am.

Nyx’ara stumbled into the room and almost lost her footing when she came face to face with six stoic-expressioned men whose presence and aura seemed to suck out the entire air from her lungs.

Her eyes darted frantically around the room, looking for a ’somewhat nice’ face, but to her horror, nothing like that existed here.

Draven and his two brothers, Kieran and Rhys, sat at the front with their arms crossed over their chests, while Damien, their cousin from the wedding sat to her side, his deep eyes fastened on her the entire time.

The other two unfamiliar faces were Rowan, the quad’s beta... wait, Rowan wasn’t unfamiliar... and Micah, who was Damien’s father and she didn’t need to spend another second around him to know that he was someone she didn’t want to mess with.

She gulped.

"I-I accidentally opened the wrong door. I should leave now!" She rushed out, her eyes wide with apprehension and worry. However, just as she tried to leave, she was suddenly hyper-aware of the wall of heated muscle standing behind her.

Azriel.

His warmth seeped into her blouse from behind, lighting her skin with a fiery kind of fire that seemed to consume her whole.

Her face heated up when he leaned down to brush a stray tendril off the nape of her neck and drawled; "I invited you... so you should stay."

But she didn’t want to stay... at all.

The feel of his breath against her neck made several goosebumps jump across her body. Her breath hitched just as fireworks lit up on her flesh. She found herself leaning against him before realizing what she was doing and frowned slightly;

"A-Alpha... this looks private."

His eyebrows raised but his eyes never left her face. From here, he could feel the sharp stares of everyone in the room as their eyes shot daggers at him but he didn’t flinch. Instead, his entire attention was on Nyx’ara, and on the tiny almost invisible freckles scattered across her face.

It took him a moment to talk— mostly because he was busy savoring the taste of her fluster and reveling in the way her body trembled under the attention. He drawled;

"We have a PA situation."

She stilled. "A w-what?"

"Do you have problems with your ears?" He snapped, his voice small but hard and enough to make her flinch in fear.

"Y-yes."

Her blatant response cooled some of the rage in his blood, and when he looked at her this time, there was a bit of pity in his eyes... and respect.

She continued; "I have told you before. I have a ha-hard time hearing and seeing and speaking."

Triple problem.

He thought, yet he could not understand how someone like her had managed to kill and break his sister...

He shook his head to dispel that thought and clamped his hands on her shoulder. Without saying anything more, he began to lead her into the room, ignoring the sharp stares from everyone else, helped her into a chair, and walked over to his, his smile strained as he mumbled;

"Nyx’ara will be our PA... at least until we get a new one, so you can all stop glaring daggers at her and go straight to business."

At the sound of his voice, his brothers turned to him but none of them gave a visible reaction to his sudden decision. If anything, they all looked like they were in on it.

Besides Draven who could still feel the warmth of her skin on the tips of his fingers and taste her sweetness on his tongue.

Everyone else was unfazed... well, besides Uncle Micah who seemed very visibly irritated. He rolled his eyes and hissed; "This is stupid."

Amongst the four, Rhys was the one who hated Uncle Micah the most and this was partly because he had once seen the way he used to treat his mother before her demise. So as soon as he uttered that statement, Rhys turned to him and cocked his eyebrows, his lips twitching with distaste as he snarled;

"What is stupid?"

"This!" Micah growled, his facade cracking with each passing second. "It is stupid that you all think it is reasonable to invite a complete stranger into our meeting."

"The stranger in question is our wife!" Kieran bit back, even though the word ’wife’ tasted vile on his tongue. For him, it was one thing to insult Nyx’ara and another thing to watch someone else insult her.

He could not stand the latter.

"Oh please!" Uncle Micah snapped, rising from his seat with so much force that his chair fell backward. "This girl is a thief and a murderer and I think that you all are parading her as your wife just because you want to remain in power!"

"And I think you are this piqued because you have lost your chance at getting into power!" A different voice snapped at him, and it wasn’t until the sound had settled and everyone froze that Nyx’ara realized she had been the one who said that.

Her lips clamped shut and her eyes widened as everyone turned to look at her.

"What did you just say?" Micah hissed, his voice lowering into a deadly whisper, but at this point, Nyx’ara had lost her voice.

Gone was the courage that had reared its head, forcing her sudden outburst.

Gone was the spark of rage she had felt at being so blatantly insulted.

Her face colored a deep red as everyone’s eyes bore holes into her skin, and as for the quadruplets, they could hardly hide the smile on their faces as they watched her scramble for words.

Micah, who couldn’t believe that he’d been challenged by a riffraff such as Nyx’ara, stalked her slowly. His eyes were thinned into fierce slits as he made his way toward her.

"Who do you think you are to talk to me in that manner, little girl?" He asked coldly, but she didn’t respond. She couldn’t because her heart was beating so fast, she could literally hear it in her ears.

Her eyes darted one more time to the quads, a flicker of hopelessness crossing her face before she lifted her chin and met Micah’s gaze squarely;

"Their wife," she said slowly... unsurely. "And their PA."

Her words probably did not sit right with him because then his lips curled inward. His hand balled into a tight fist which he lifted above his head.

He was however just about to strike her hard across the face when a loud bang sound echoed through the room, making everyone stop in their tracks, and then slowly, as if controlled, they all turned to the front where the sound had come from.

Draven rose from his chair with the pace of a wounded feline, his dark eyes swirling with rage and contempt— all directed at his uncle.

A flicker of bone-deep malice crossed his features when he saw the fear in Nyx’ara’s eyes and saw the trembling in her spine.

He was the only one with the right to scare her like that... and maybe his brothers.

In his hand was a large silver Glock which he held so carelessly that you’d instantly know that he was ready at any point to shoot. He snarled; "Uncle, I think you have overstayed your welcome."

Micah froze. He couldn’t believe his ears.

And he mostly could not believe that he was being discharged like this because of a murderer.

His eyes, filled with hate, darted between Nyx’ara and Draven and then he seethed; "Are you doing this because of her? The girl who murdered your only sister?"

But Draven didn’t flinch. He didn’t even spare him a glance. "Yes, I am doing it for my wife."

A rush of adrenaline ran down Nyx’ara’s spine at the moment he made that statement and for some reason, in that moment, something shifted within her.

She stopped seeing him as such a monster.

She stopped thinking he was one emotionless rigid jerk but... human.

Her throat instantly went dry when Draven pulled her to his side, tucking her safely until she was pressed against his warm muscle.

His hands glided from the small of her back to her butts and then he flashed her a smile before peering down into Uncle Micah’s eyes as he snarled;

"And in case you’ve forgotten... She’s your Luna."
