Max, Aron, and Stella then quickly stepped onto the platform.

Max was a bit anxious, as right in front of him were ten thousand soldiers standing in lines, each radiating a fierce aura that he hadn’t even seen in the elites of the noble armies of Flameheart City.

But when he felt carefully, he was shocked, as it seemed all ten thousand of them had blood energy similar to the level of Bloodline awakeners. He was shocked that ten thousand bloodline awakeners were standing right in front of him.

And these were merely soldiers of the City of Blood.

Then—

The moment the soldiers saw Max step down from the wyvern, they simultaneously dropped to one knee.

BOOM!

Their movements were perfectly synchronised.

The sheer force of nearly ten thousand people kneeling at once created overwhelming pressure that spread through the entire military camp.

Then they roared in unison.

"WELCOME BACK, YOUNG LORD!"

Their voices thundered across the military station. The sound reverberated through the surroundings like a massive explosion.

The terrifying aura released by nearly ten thousand Bloodline Awakeners surged into the sky, creating an oppressive and powerful atmosphere that shook the entire military camp.

Max stood there, stunned, unable to believe what had just happened. He didn’t expect such a kind of welcome, a welcome by ten thousand bloodline awakeners.

It had to be known that even the total number of bloodline awakeners in the entire Flameheart city, all nobles and rogue bloodline awakeners in total, didn’t exceed two thousand. And yet, right now, nearly ten thousand Bloodline Awakeners were kneeling before him, bowing to him and welcoming him.

This turn in the situation was too much, as a few days ago he was just a peasant who was being bullied by some ordinary thugs, and now ten thousand bloodline awakeners were bowing to him.

Seeing this, not only did he gain some confidence, but he also seemed to feel excited, as in the future when he would lead the army of tens of thousands of bloodline awakeners fighting demons and monsters.

"Alright! Disperse. The City Lord wanted to meet the young master first." Aron’s loud voice rang in the middle of the army camp, and then the soldiers slowly parted, making a way for them.

Max, along with Stella, quickly followed Aron as he slowly walked away. The entire estate was too large and took them some time as they came to a massive garden.

Calling it a garden was almost an insult. It was practically a forest.

Ancient trees covered the area, their enormous branches reaching toward the sky. A small stone path led from the entrance deep into the forest-like garden.

Aron stopped at the entrance. "From here, only you can continue."

He looked at Stella. "She has to stay here."

Max glanced at Stella. After a brief moment, he nodded.

He then turned around and began walking alone along the small path. Step by step, he disappeared deeper into the massive garden.

The path was long; he walked almost half an hour before he saw a small courtyard where a person was already sitting calmly, drinking a bloody red wine.

He appeared to be a handsome man in his late twenties with slightly pale skin, but his slightly crimson eyes seemed to show indifference, like something he only felt toward the one person: the Lady of Salvation.

It was like he was broken free from the shackles of the world itself, not belonging to the same dimension at all.

He seems to look towards him, and their eyes meet. The moment their eyes met, he seemed to see a colossal ancient blood dragon that seemed to drown the world in blood and slaughter.

Max immediately broke eye contact.

His breathing became slightly heavier, and cold sweat quickly soaked his back.

The scene had only lasted for an instant. Yet it felt as though he had just stared directly into the eyes of an ancient monster capable of destroying the world.

The man noticed Max’s reaction. A faint smile appeared on his face.

"Not bad." His voice was calm.

"Your mind is quite stable."

He casually raised his glass. "Come. Let’s have a talk."

Max nodded after taking a deep breath and slowly sat down to the right of the man. He could already guess who the person right in front of him was, and because of this, he was a bit anxious.

First, there was an invisible pressure from the depth of his blood, like he was a child in front of a grandfather. It was instinctive; he felt he might not even be able to control his own blood right in front of him.

The second was a different kind of feeling, like those eyes seemed to see through everything, which was even more intense than the Lady of the Salvation. Making him a bit afraid, as he might see through him and his past life on Earth.

"You should already guess, I am your ancestor and the city lord of this City of Blood." He said calmly, looking at the nervous Max.

"Don’t worry, you will be safe here, and only due to special circumstances were many people lost. But that trouble is mostly solved, and you just needed to train and grow up as a valuable member of the City of Blood."

"Your talent is better than I expected; your bloodline concentration is quite high, so you need to grow up quickly, and only reaching Domain level would you be able to truly understand the truth of the world."

Max, who quietly listened, seemed to understand what the city lord was saying but also didn’t understand what he meant at the same time. Like what truth? Is knowing that important? He couldn’t figure it out.

But what made him feel good was that his talent might be good, as he didn’t know how the talent between the same bloodline is determined, but if such a big boss said he had decent talent, it should be quite good.

"Go, you should slowly adjust to the brand new lifestyle, and qualified people would be arranged for your guidance and training." City Lord said calmly.

Max nodded.

"Yes, Ancestor."

He respectfully bowed before silently leaving the courtyard.

"What do you say? How do you feel about him?" The City Lord seemed to talk to himself, but immediately a small bat appeared and turned into a human form.

"He seemed a bit different, but I cannot figure out why, but he may be the one we needed."

The two of them simply looked toward the direction Max had disappeared.

Neither spoke again.

Yet the atmosphere within the courtyard seemed to become strangely heavy.
