Chapter 94: Chapter 94: Planning How To Earn Money

After checking the herbs, Sui Sui moved on to his next stop—the lake. He hadn’t seen the little lake spirit in quite some time, so he decided to check on it while he was here.

The lake remained as quiet as ever, its clear surface reflecting the surroundings. However, the moment Sui Sui approached, the water seemed to sense his presence and a small blue ball of light slowly emerged from the water.

As soon as it appeared, it floated toward Sui Sui almost immediately. The little blue ball came close enough to rub itself against his cheek before bobbing gently beside him, seemingly greeting him after his long absence.

"Hello to you too," Sui Sui said with a smile. "How have you been lately?"

He had barely finished speaking when several scenes suddenly flashed through his mind, Sui Sui blinked in surprise: It was a direct spiritual sharing from the little lake spirit.

In one scene, the small blue ball of light was hiding behind a rock, seemingly trying its best not to be noticed. In another, it was frantically fleeing across the lake as though something terrifying were chasing after it.

Sui Sui stared at the scenes for a moment before finally understanding what had happened.

It seemed that the little lake spirit had been bullied by MuMu while he was away.

Sui Sui couldn’t help but feel a little speechless.

MuMu had indeed kept his promise not to eat the little blue ball. Unfortunately, not eating it did not mean that MuMu would leave it alone.

Apparently, whenever MuMu would always ask the little spirit to play, at first it rejected MuMu, but then MuMu would disturb its house which was the lake, so it had to compromise.

MuMu wanted to play hide-and-seek, and whenever managed to catch the little lake spirit, he would lick it here and there, leaving the poor little blue ball terrified. Naturally, the lake spirit would then desperately try to escape from him, only to be chased again the next time MuMu spotted it.

Seeing these scenes, Sui Sui couldn’t help but laugh. "Aren’t you much stronger than MuMu in terms of cultivation?" If his guess was correct, this little thing should be thousands of years old. Compared to that, MuMu should still be a child, right? Although, Sui Sui honestly had no idea how old MuMu actually was.

The little ball of light’s movements were so expressive that Sui Sui could almost see the grievance written all over it. Through their spiritual connection, he could practically hear the little spirit complaining: Even if this little one is stronger, he is simply too boisterous! I don’t have any arms or legs, so how am I supposed to fight back?

Sui Sui could only smile helplessly at the complaint. "Alright, I’ll talk to MuMu about it. Although I can’t promise he’ll actually stop, you don’t have to worry. He won’t eat you. He’s just a naughty little kid, but he isn’t really that bad."

After comforting the lake spirit, Sui Sui suddenly remembered something else and looked at the little blue ball with concern. "Oh, by the way, how is your recovery going? Was the Spirit Crystal I gave you last time enough?"

The last time Yizhou had given Sui Sui a portion of the Spirit Crystals they had obtained from the cave, Sui Sui had poured almost all of them into the lake for the little spirit to absorb. He wanted to help it recover and upgrade as quickly as possible, so he had barely kept any for himself, relying instead on the small stipend he received from his parents for spendings.

Unfortunately, the little blue ball shook itself from side to side, clearly indicating that it wasn’t enough. Although it could now produce Spirit Water, the purity was still rather low. At most, it could be used to replenish some spiritual energy, but its effect was far from what Sui Sui had hoped for.

Sui Sui wasn’t particularly surprised. Although he had indeed given the lake spirit several thousand Spirit Crystals, that amount was probably nowhere near enough for the spirit that had been cultivating for thousands of years. On top of that, the lightning tribulation it had endured back then had been exceptionally powerful, so recovering from those injuries was naturally not going to be easy.

It seemed that Sui Sui would have to find more ways to earn Spirit Crystals.

Technically, he could simply ask the Bai Family for more resources. With the family’s wealth, obtaining Spirit Crystals would not be particularly difficult. But Sui Sui didn’t want to become someone who always relied on his family whenever he needed something. He wanted to be able to stand on his own feet and earn what he needed through his own abilities.

So he was determined to find a way to earn more Spirit Crystals by himself.

Fortunately, Sui Sui had already thought of an idea for this, although he was not sure if he would succeed, this method is of course through alchemy.

Alchemy was one of the most profitable businesses in the cultivation world. After all, cultivators could not always have a healer by their side. When they were injured during a journey or cultivation, medicinal pills were often the most convenient way to treat themselves.

And pills were not limited to healing.

There were Fasting Pills that allowed cultivators to go for days without eating, Spirit Recovery Pills that replenished their spiritual energy, and even cultivation pills that could assist cultivators in improving their cultivation. There were all kinds of medicinal pills, each serving a different purpose, and all of them had a steady demand among cultivators.

Pills were a highly sought-after commodity.

Although it would be hard, If Sui Sui could establish himself as a successful alchemist, he would not have to worry about relying on his family for resources. He could earn a steady income through his own skills while also having a reliable source of Spirit Crystals for the lake spirit.

The more he thought about it, the more promising the idea seemed.

Perhaps alchemy really was the right path for him.

Besides, Sui Sui had another advantage that most cultivators did not.

As a reader of the original novel, he knew about many opportunities that had yet to appear in this world. There were hidden treasures and rare items that even Yizhou had overlooked, such as the things he had discovered in the ice cave before. Some of those treasures had been of little use to Yizhou, but that didn’t mean they were useless to Sui Sui. In fact, there were quite a few things that could be extremely valuable to him.

And some of those opportunities would appear in the near future.

He already knew where some of the hidden treasures were and, more importantly, knew when they would appear. If he could obtain them ahead of time, he could either use them for himself or sell them for a considerable amount of Spirit Crystals.

Anyway, they were unowned items in the novel, so it’s not like he is stealing other people’s opportunity

Sui Sui could not help but feel a little excited when he thought about it.
