And just like that, he stretched out his hand, lunging forward in a flash as he threw his fist across the young man’s face. It happened so fast that the young man didn’t even see it coming.

The next second, the young man went flying off the rooftop, crashing hard onto the ground below.

The moment he landed, his body smashed into a pool of blood. He lay there lifelessly as the blood continued to spread around him.

He was clearly dead. The figure stared down at him before adjusting his black face hat. Light fell across his face, allowing his features to become more visible.

And as the figure slowly adjusted his hat, Rayder smiled again, shaking his head.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk..." he sighed. "You shouldn’t have played such silly games with me. So troublesome."

He shook his head and turned away. "What a hassle. I’ll have to handle this mess," he muttered before walking off, leaving the murder scene as it was.

Morning arrived, and the Espers and Guides from June’s intake had the same class. As a result, the two groups were gathered in the same lecture hall.

While the lecture was going on, June was struggling with every demon inside him to keep from falling asleep. He fought to keep his eyes open, staring at the lecturer as he spoke in what sounded like a strange language to his half-asleep brain.

Ryan, who was sitting beside him, tapped him on the shoulder and casually commented, "Your boyfriend keeps staring at you... Tell him to pay attention in class, or he’ll end up failing because he can’t take his eyes off you."

June turned in the direction Ryan indicated, only to find Nyx sitting at a distance, staring at him with unwavering attention. His eyes lit up the moment June’s gaze met his.

From his expression alone, June could tell that Nyx had been staring at him for quite a while.

"That little..." June bit his lower lip. "We were both chatting until late last night, and I’m the one suffering the consequences while he’s effortlessly awake. Evil."

He shook his head in disbelief.

Nyx blinked innocently at him from across the room, looking as though he had done nothing wrong.

Ryan smiled. "Lovers already chatting until late at night? Wow, you guys are jobless."

"Shut up," June snapped, turning back to Nyx, who was still staring at him with such intense attention that he might as well have been the lecturer.

He had kept Nyx company until late last night, chatting with him about all sorts of topics. Nyx was still frightened by what he had told June earlier, and keeping him company through their conversations had been the closest June could get to helping him feel better.

Ryan shook his head with a smile. "The nerd is used to staying up all night studying. You... you wanted to compare yourself to that?"

"I stay up reading yaoi too... Same thing," June defended himself, only for Ryan to shake his head and smile again.

"Anyways, tell your boyfriend to look away. He’s going to get us into trouble soon," Ryan reminded him.

June smiled, folding his arms. "Well, he’s apparently not the only boyfriend staring."

"What do you mean?"

June raised an eyebrow and pointed to the side with a knowing smile. Ryan turned to look, only to meet Kael’s eyes.

Kael was sitting at the back with his arms folded, staring intently at Ryan. However, the moment Ryan turned to meet his gaze, he immediately looked away and pretended to be paying attention to the lecturer.

June smiled and shook his head. "What a way to get romantic, don’t you think?"

Ryan rolled his eyes. "Shut up. There’s nothing going on between us."

June grinned. "I never said there was, though."

"..." Ryan glared at him. "Keep talking, and I’ll ship you with Simon."

"You dare not..."

"Hey!" the lecturer called out, drawing their attention. The two immediately stopped talking and looked at him. "Talk again, and you two will leave my class!"

And with that, they zipped their lips and sank into their seats, remaining silent for the rest of the lecture.

Lectures were finally over, and they had gone to the cafeteria to grab some lunch.

While Ryan and June sat together discussing the latest Chapter of a yaoi they had read, Nyx approached with a can of milk drink for June.

"Here, for you," Nyx said as he sat beside June, handing him the drink like a loyal puppy, minus the wagging ears.

June smiled at him. "For me?"

Nyx nodded. "You seemed tired today, so you should have this. It’ll help boost your energy."

June smiled as he accepted the drink. "Thanks a lot. That’s why you’re the best."

Ryan stared at the two of them with a disgusted expression. "As if you weren’t blaming him a second ago for keeping you up..."

June brushed a hand over his lips. "Shut up. Single people have no say in love stories."

"..." Ryan was left speechless. "You... Pathetic."

June ignored him and turned back to Nyx, smiling as he took a sip of the milk drink.

"Thanks. I’ll enjoy it."

Nyx smiled shyly, rubbing the back of his neck. "That’s good..."

June smiled at him before adding, "But you shouldn’t focus all your attention on me during classes. It’s not good for your grades."

Nyx bit his lower lip. "But I keep wanting to see your face... I don’t know how to go without seeing it for too long..."

June found himself melting at his words, a smile spreading across his face. His expression earned him a pair of disapproving side-eyes from Ryan, who could only watch the two of them with growing disgust.

June ran a hand through his hair, tucking a stray strand behind his ear as he replied, "Well, I understand. I mean, I’m pretty and all, but you still have to take your studies seriously... okay?"

Nyx nodded enthusiastically, smiling at him. "Okay, don’t worry. I’ll balance it well."

June nodded in satisfaction as he took another sip of his drink, while Ryan shook his head in defeat.

"God save us from these couples... I’m about to have my eyes fall out..."

And just then, Simon and Kael arrived and joined them at the same table to eat, leaving the surrounding students in the cafeteria utterly shocked.
