"What rubbish are you on about now?" Yen questioned, his expression cold as he stared at Drax.

"Rubbish? I’m only saying the truth here," Drax said, his eyes still fixed on Ken. "Some people should learn to grow as soon as possible if they wish to survive. Things have changed, so they should also accept that and grow with them."

Yen was clearly fuming as he was about to approach Drax. "You asshole, what gives you the right to even..." But Ken held him back, stopping him from speaking or moving any further.

Ken stared at Yen and said, "Why waste time on insignificant voices? Clearly not worth the time." He then glanced at Ethan. "Since I’ll be leaving, I’ll treat you all to a meal. Let’s go. The usual spot."

"But..." Yen wanted to speak, but Ken stopped him.

"Let’s just go. Too much talk is boring," he said as he pulled Yen away, leaving the scene. Ethan simply followed them, while Mr Drax and Lizzy stood there watching them leave.

Mr Drax remained there for a long while, watching Ken from behind until he was completely out of sight.

He slowly clenched his fist, his eyebrows furrowed while he bit his lower lip at the sight ahead.

"Let’s go," Lizzy said with a smile, holding him firmly by the hand. "We’ll be late for the date."

Mr Drax forced a smile as he nodded. "Oh, yeah. Let’s go."

"I’m fine. I don’t need to be here," Nyx insisted, sitting on the hospital bed while June sat beside him.

"No, you should be here. You’re hurt, and you used a lot of energy, so you need to be properly checked," June insisted, running his hand over his forehead and cheeks like a child.

"But... you’re being expelled. That’s the more important thing..." Nyx bit his lower lip before continuing, "You can’t leave the academy. You have to find a way to stay. I can tell them that I’m the one who did it. I’ll prove it to them. Then I’ll be the one to get expelled. Or maybe... I can beg them. Maybe they’ll listen."

June smiled and shook his head. "Silly. Don’t even think about that at all. Do you think they’re interested in the truth or an apology? Naive," he added. "They clearly want me out of the picture so they can do whatever they want."

June sighed. "So don’t even get close to them, else Mr Kevin will easily find a way to use you. Don’t. Promise me, okay?"

Nyx bit his lower lip as he slowly nodded. "But... how am I supposed to stay at the academy without you? We’re a pair. We should be together forever. Who am I going to study with? Who do I kiss when I want to activate my skills? Who..."

June blinked. He didn’t know if he should be shocked or moved. How deep had this boy been initiated by Ryan’s Yaoi shenanigans?!

June cleared his throat with a smile. "Don’t worry. It’s not like I’m disappearing off the face of the earth or something. I’m always here, okay? Just not in the academy for now..."

Nyx seemed disappointed as he asked, "How long will it be like that...?"

June smiled. "Not for long..." He thought for a while before running a hand through Nyx’s hair. "I’ll find a way to come back. I’ll find a way to stay closer to you, okay? So, for the meantime, wait for me... Trust me."

Nyx hesitated before slowly nodding. "Okay... I’ll trust you."

June smiled and nodded. "Good boy..." He kept his hands in Nyx’s hair, gently patting him. "Golden boy..."

But Nyx took June’s hand from his hair and slowly brought it down to his chest. He held onto June’s hand in his huge palms, pressing it firmly against his chest.

June blinked in surprise as he stared at Nyx. His cheeks were flushed, and his heart was fluttering. "Huh?" He couldn’t help but wonder what was happening to him.

Why was his heart beating so fast at this moment?!

Nyx stared into June’s eyes, his hand still pressed against his chest. He had a firm expression as he spoke in a soft, gentle tone. "So... when will I get your response?"

June understood what he meant. A response to his confession. And at that moment, June’s heart fluttered even more.

Nyx smiled as he stared at June’s hand. "I won’t force you... Take your time..." He stared into June’s eyes as he leaned closer.

June’s heartbeat stopped as Nyx’s face drew closer. He was close—too close. They were only a second away from a kiss. June could feel his breath against him, and it had him thinking the craziest thoughts possible.

What would happen if he just leaned closer and kissed him?!

Nyx’s eyes ran down to June’s lips, staring at them in the most hungry and possessive way possible. He swallowed, his Adam’s apple bobbing, before biting his lower lip at the sight of June’s lips. The tension was off the roof.

"I want you to say yes..." Nyx’s eyes remained fixed on June’s lips as he spoke, his voice low, husky, and domineering.

June didn’t know Nyx had this side to him—a full-blown, domineering, possessive side.

He could feel his knees weaken in that moment.

"I..." June tried to speak, but Nyx brought a finger to his lips, pressing him into silence. June swallowed hard.

"I’ll wait for your yes..." Nyx said as he lowered his finger and pulled away from June. His expression suddenly lit up with a sunny smile as he said, "So, feed me."

June blinked, speechless. His heart was still fluttering as he stared at Nyx, who was smiling as if he hadn’t just made the most heart-attacking move right now?!

Why was he acting so innocent?

"Oh." June nodded as he turned to get the food he had brought for Nyx from the floor. "I got this for you... Your favorite." He smiled.
