Chapter 135: Breakfast Made with Love
Chapter 135: Chapter 135: Breakfast Made with Love
~Third- POV~
Whatever happens with her, it can wait until tomorrow, he thought.
Without replying to the message, Frederick locked his phone and placed it face-down on the nightstand. Then he wrapped both arms securely around Reynold, pulling him closer. He pressed a gentle kiss to his forehead and whispered, "Goodnight, sweetheart. Sweet dreams."
Reynold responded with a soft, sleepy hum. Frederick pulled the silk duvet over them both and closed his eyes. Before long, they had drifted into a deep, peaceful sleep.
By the following morning, soft sunlight streamed through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting a warm glow across the bedroom.
Reynold was the first to wake. He slowly opened his heavy eyes, shifting slightly in the warmth of the bed without disturbing Frederick’s arm, which remained firmly wrapped around his waist.
A tiny, self-satisfied grin touched his lips.
"Time to grow up, Reynold. You’re a fiancé now," he whispered to himself.
Carefully lifting Frederick’s arm from around his waist, Reynold eased himself out of bed and placed his feet on the floor. Once he was standing, he tiptoed across the room toward the dresser where he’d left his phone. His original plan was to secretly look up advice on how to become the perfect, most loving partner now that their relationship was official.
But the moment his screen lit up, his eyes widened.
Dozens of missed calls and unread messages filled his lock screen. Some were from his family, while most came from unknown numbers. He also noticed several missed calls and messages from Julian.
Reynold stared at the screen, his brows furrowing as he scrolled through the endless notifications. What was going on? Why was everyone suddenly trying to reach him? He was still trying to make sense of it when he realized. The media release had dropped. The whole world knew.
He considered checking the messages, but decided he wasn’t going to let the flood of opinions or the inevitable public attention ruin his morning. Instead, he placed his phone back on the dresser, screen facing down, and quietly left the bedroom.
Making his way downstairs, he headed straight for the spacious, modern kitchen, where several housemaids were already busy preparing breakfast. The moment Reynold walked in, they paused their work and bowed politely.
"Good morning, sir," they greeted in unison.
"Good morning," Reynold replied warmly, giving them a bright smile.
"Is there anything you need, sir?" one of the housemaids asked.
"Actually, I’d like to prepare breakfast myself today," Reynold said with a smile.
The maid looked at him with surprise. "Oh, sir, you don’t have to trouble yourself with that. Mr. Corvin wouldn’t want you stressing over breakfast. Just let us know what you’d like, and we’ll take care of everything."
"It’s alright. I really want to do it myself today," Reynold insisted with a smile. "I promise I won’t overwork myself."
The maids exchanged glances before one of them finally nodded.
"Alright, sir. But we’ll stay and help you with everything."
Reynolds nodded. "Okay, then. Let’s do it together."
With the maids assisting him, Reynold took charge of preparing breakfast. He moved around the kitchen, giving instructions and occasionally humming to himself as the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, warm pastries, and sizzling breakfast dishes filled the air.
Once everything was ready, they carried the dishes into the adjoining dining area and began arranging them on a serving trolley. Reynold was just helping one of the maids arrange the plates when familiar footsteps echoed from the grand staircase.
His head immediately turned toward the archway, and a mischievous grin spread across his face.
"I knew he’d wake up before I finished," Reynold whispered to the maids. Then, quickly motioning for them to play along, he added, "If he asks, tell him you haven’t seen me."
Before they could respond, Reynold quickly slipped away from the dining area and hid behind the nearby pantry wall, positioning himself where Frederick wouldn’t see him as he entered.
A few seconds later, Frederick walked into the living area, dressed in a black silk robe, his hair slightly tousled from sleep. His eyes wandered around the open space, searching for his fiancé. When he spotted the maids in the kitchen but saw no sign of Reynold, his brows drew together.
"Good morning, sir," the maids greeted him politely.
"Have you seen Reynold?" Frederick asked, getting straight to the point.
The lead maid kept a straight face and shook her head. "No, sir."
Frederick frowned. "You haven’t seen him?"
"No, sir. We haven’t seen Mr. Blake this morning."
A hint of worry crossed Frederick’s face. Had he failed to check the bedroom properly? He glanced toward the staircase, preparing to head back upstairs and search the room again.
He had just turned and was about to take a step when Reynold’s voice suddenly rang out behind him.
"Good morning, Sugar Daddy!" Reynold greeted him playfully.
Frederick stopped and turned toward the sound. The moment Reynold stepped out with a triumphant, dimpled grin, the worry on Frederick’s face gave way to relief.
He crossed the kitchen in three long strides and pulled Reynold against his chest. Then he gave his ass a playful smack.
"Why do you like scaring me, baby?" Frederick grumbled near his ear.
The housemaids exchanged amused smiles before bowing and quietly leaving the kitchen and dining area, giving the couple some privacy.
Reynold pouted exaggeratedly, looking up at Frederick with wide, innocent eyes. He looked so bright and strikingly handsome in the morning light that Frederick couldn’t resist reaching out to pinch his soft cheek.
"Ow! Daddy, stop!" Reynold protested playfully, rubbing his cheek.
"Come on, stop making that face. You know what that look does to me," Frederick chuckled, giving his cheek another gentle pinch.
"Daddy, that hurts! Stop it!" Reynold complained, swatting his hand away.
Frederick laughed, smoothing down Reynold’s slightly messy morning hair. "You know you always get me with that sound."
Reynold smiled and turned toward the serving trolley beside the dining table, where the breakfast dishes had been neatly arranged.
"Actually, I woke up early specifically to make you breakfast."
Frederick raised an eyebrow, genuinely surprised. "You made breakfast?"
Reynold nodded proudly. "Yes."
"Why, baby?" Frederick asked, wrapping an arm around his waist. "We have an entire team of people to do that for us."
"Because I wanted to cook for you myself," Reynold replied, leaning his shoulder against Frederick’s chest.
"So you prepared all of this by yourself?"
"Well, the maids helped me with the preparation, but I did all the actual cooking," Reynold clarified, proudly puffing out his chest.
Frederick’s expression softened. "Thank you, love. Then I’ll be more than happy to eat every single bite."
"You’re welcome, Daddy. I’m happy to do it for you," Reynold replied with a bright smile.
Frederick pulled out a chair at the grand dining table and settled into it. Reynold busied himself arranging the breakfast, placing a cup of rich black coffee beside Frederick’s plate, just the way he liked it. He then served him perfectly seasoned eggs, golden roasted tomatoes, and sliced grilled steak.
Frederick watched his every move, a quiet, amused smile playing on his lips. "You know... you’ve never cooked for me before."
Reynold placed the last silver fork beside Frederick’s plate before leaning against the edge of the table, his arms crossed and a confident smirk on his face.
"That was then. You hadn’t put a ring on my finger yet. Now that you have, I can do things like this because I know my effort won’t be wasted."
Frederick chuckled softly, reaching for Reynold’s hand. He brought it to his lips and kissed the back of his fingers, then the brilliant diamond sparkling on his ring finger.
"Alright, baby. Fair point."
Reynold pulled up a chair beside him and sat down, resting his chin on his hands as he watched Frederick take his first bite.
Frederick cut a small piece of steak, paired it with some seasoned eggs, and brought it to his mouth. He chewed slowly, allowing the flavors to settle while Reynold watched him expectantly.
Finally, Frederick looked up, his dark eyes gleaming with genuine approval.
"Sweetheart... this is incredible. The flavor is perfect."
Reynold instantly beamed, his shoulders relaxing as a happy laugh escaped him. "Really? You’re not just saying that?"
"I never lie about food, sweetheart," Frederick murmured, taking another bite to prove his point before sipping his coffee. "It’s exceptional."
Satisfied with his reaction, Reynold reached for a croissant from the basket in the center of the table and took a bite, watching his fiancé enjoy the meal.
The quiet dining room was bathed in warm morning light streaming through the glass walls of the Parisian penthouse, far removed from the storm of notifications waiting for them on their phones.
Frederick gave Reynold’s thigh a gentle squeeze beneath the table.
"You continue to surprise me every single day, Mr. Blake."
Reynold leaned over and pressed a quick, buttery kiss against Frederick’s cheek.
"Get used to it, Mr. Corvin. You’re stuck with me now. And if you love my cooking so much, you can send all the chefs in this house away. I’ll take over their jobs, and you can pay me all their salaries."
Frederick chuckled, shaking his head.
"Baby, I want you to concentrate on your studies, not spend your time in the kitchen. Your job is to enjoy yourself, rest, and let me take care of you. I need you in my bed, keeping Daddy satisfied while I spoil you. I’ll pay you three times the combined salaries of all the chefs in this house and back home."
He pushed his chair back, stood up, and served Reynold some more food.
"Here, eat more, baby."
Reynold smiled up at him. "You’re so sweet, baby. And you’re entirely mine."
Frederick leaned down, brushing a kiss against his lips.
They both laughed before settling back into their breakfast, enjoying the quiet morning together.
Once they had finished breakfast, they returned upstairs to their bedroom, where they showered and changed into fresh clothes. With their outing planned for later, they decided to spend some time relaxing together. They settled into the comfortable lounge chairs beside the massive window, enjoying the view of the sprawling green estate.
Frederick turned to Reynold. "Have you checked the news yet, baby?"
Reynold shook his head, looking a little sheepish. "No, not really. I saw the notifications, but I was too scared to read what people were saying."
Frederick smiled warmly and took Reynold’s hand. "I checked a few comments earlier. Most people are celebrating us. The only thing some keep bringing up is your age, saying you’re young and lucky to have me. But there’s hardly any negativity, just a few jealous comments here and there. After all, not everyone is happy to see someone else enjoying the kind of life they can only dream of, especially when it’s my baby who’s living it."
Reynold chuckled, feeling instantly relieved...
