Chapter 100: You’re Stuck With Me Forever
Chapter 100: Chapter 100: You’re Stuck With Me Forever
~Third- POV~
All he could do now was wait for Frederick to return and possibly announce that he had officially been demoted from his bedmate to a couch occupant.
Meanwhile, outside in the dark driveway, Frederick’s shock gave way to a sharp, demanding intensity.
"If I was wrong, then tell me!" Frederick demanded, taking a step closer to Eva. His voice was tight with frustration. "Tell me exactly what happened back then!"
Eva stared at him, her eyes glistening with unshed tears, but she said nothing. Instead, she slowly stepped forward, closing the distance between them. She slipped her slender hands beneath the lapels of his white suit jacket and rested her palms against his bare chest.
She looked up into his eyes, her voice dropping into a soft, vulnerable whisper. "I miss you, Frederick... I miss us."
She leaned in close, tilting her face up, attempting to press her lips against his.
Before her mouth could even touch his, Frederick caught her by the wrists, stopping her instantly. He pushed her back with firm, unyielding force, breaking her grip entirely.
"Stop," Frederick ordered, his voice turning dangerously cold. "If you’re not ready to tell me the truth, then leave. And keep your word, Eva. Stay away from me, and stay away from everyone I care about."
Eva stumbled back, staring at him in disbelief before letting out a bitter laugh.
"So you’re really leaving me for that boy?"
"Obviously," Frederick replied without hesitation, standing tall with a cold, unbothered expression.
Eva swallowed her pride, a sharp, spiteful smile spreading across her face as she turned toward her car.
"Then I wish you both the best of luck. You’ll regret losing me, Frederick."
Without waiting to watch her drive away, Frederick turned and strode into the mansion. The house staff greeted him respectfully as he entered.
"Welcome back, sir."
Frederick acknowledged them with a brief greeting before heading upstairs. He hurried down the hallway toward his bedroom, stopping outside the closed door.
The muffled sound of a heartbreak song drifted through the door, accompanied by the unmistakable melancholy of its lyrics.
Frederick frowned, thoroughly confused, before pushing the door open.
There, on the floor beneath the room’s soft ambient lighting, sat Reynold. He held an almost empty glass of wine in one hand, swaying dramatically to the mournful music, completely lost in his own tragic world.
And judging by his expression, you would think his entire life had fallen apart.
Frederick stepped farther into the bedroom and crossed his arms over his chest, staring down at Reynold with a mixture of disbelief and amusement. For a moment, he said nothing, simply watching him.
Reynold had his eyes squeezed shut, swaying as he sang along to the heartbreak ballad with exaggerated passion. Anyone watching him would think he had just caught his husband cheating on him.
Finally, Frederick walked over and lowered himself onto the floor beside him.
"Sweetheart... what on earth is happening here?"
At the sound of Frederick’s deep voice, Reynold opened his eyes. Already tipsy from the chilled wine, he blinked at him several times before letting out a loose, melodramatic chuckle.
"Ah... I understand," Reynold murmured, nodding wisely to himself.
Frederick raised an eyebrow. "You understand what?"
"You don’t have to feel sorry for me." Reynold placed a hand over his heart, looking as though he were preparing to deliver a heartbreaking farewell. "I’ll leave on my own. You don’t have to throw me out."
Frederick stared at him, utterly bewildered. "Where exactly are you going?"
"I... I don’t know." Reynold’s confidence crumbled as he looked up at Frederick with wide, glassy eyes. "Please don’t send me away tonight. It’s already so dark outside..."
Frederick rolled his eyes, a small smile tugging at his lips as he leaned back against the side of the bed.
"What are you even talking about?"
Reynold leaned closer, studying Frederick’s face with exaggerated concern. "Are you heartbroken too, Daddy?"
"Heartbroken?" Frederick scoffed softly. He reached over, took the crystal glass from Reynold’s hand, and placed it out of his reach. "Heartbroken over what? You’re completely drunk. That’s enough wine for tonight."
"I understand..." Reynold sighed, waving a dismissive hand. "Just sit with me. Let’s drink away our sadness together."
"Who’s ’our’?" Frederick asked, his brows furrowing in confusion. "I’m not sad."
"I understand," Reynold repeated solemnly. "It’s not easy to admit it. I’m sad because he’s going to leave me."
Frederick leaned forward, resting his elbow on his knee. "Who?"
"My boyfriend," Reynold mumbled.
"Oh?" Frederick repeated, his brows drawing together in confusion. "You have a boyfriend now?"
Reynold’s face fell, and his lips pushed into a miserable pout. "It’s true... I don’t have a boyfriend. He never loved me." He shook his head, refusing to accept his own words. "No, no..."
He leaned toward Frederick until their foreheads were almost touching.
"He said he likes me, but I’m too young. He wants me to grow up a little first." Reynold’s brows knitted together as he struggled to understand. "But why do I need to grow up?! The more I grow, the older he gets! Why wait five years? Why not now? I’m so scared someone will take him from me... Oh God, they already took him!"
His eyes widened as he suddenly looked toward the bedroom entrance. "I should leave the room for them! They need the bed!"
Frederick looked at him and shook his head. What the hell have I gotten myself into?
Reynold tried to scramble to his feet to make his grand exit, but his legs felt like jelly. He staggered and immediately dropped back onto the plush rug with a heavy huff.
He stared down at his legs as though they had personally betrayed him. "I’m too heavy..." he whimpered. "I need someone to carry me outside to the couch..."
Frederick couldn’t hold back any longer. A deep chuckle escaped him, quickly growing into a rich laugh that filled the bedroom.
"Reynold, the only way you’re going to survive in this life is if you stop overthinking every single scenario. What kind of ridiculous movie script are you reciting right now? It’s terrible to listen to and doesn’t make any sense! Why are you making things so difficult for yourself when I’ve literally told you that you’re the one I want?"
Reynold’s head snapped up. He pointed an accusing finger at Frederick’s face.
"Don’t you dare scold me!" he huffed, his cheeks flushed bright red. "Don’t scold me! Yes, I’m an overthinker! It’s not a crime! I just..." His voice faltered, and his expression crumpled. "I want you so badly! I love you so much!"
Frederick’s smile faded as he took in Reynold’s expression. The amusement in his eyes gave way to something warmer and more serious. He looked into Reynold’s tear-filled eyes.
"What do you want me to do to make you finally believe that I love you too?"
"If you really love me... marry me!" Reynold demanded, his voice rising before cracking on the last word. "I’ll grow up later! Daddy, I just love you so much... and you’re all I have!"
Tears spilled over his eyelashes and rolled down his cheeks as he reached for Frederick, clutching the lapels of his suit jacket.
"I don’t have years of memories with you to make you stay," Reynold sobbed, his chest heaving as he finally let his fears spill out. "I haven’t been in your life long enough... but I love you so much. Please... please don’t leave me for her..."
Frederick’s expression softened. He moved closer and wrapped his arms around Reynold’s waist, pulling him firmly against his chest. He held him there, one hand resting on his back as he gently stroked it.
"I’m not leaving you," Frederick whispered, his voice firm and reassuring. "Never. Not today, not tomorrow, not ever. You’re stuck with me for the rest of your life, sweetheart."
Reynold melted into his embrace, burying his face against Frederick’s chest and clinging tightly to him as though he were afraid Frederick might disappear if he let go.
"I love you so much," Reynold mumbled against his chest, his voice thick with tears.
Frederick went still for a moment, his arms tightening around Reynold as he heard those words. He had wanted to say them for so long, yet somehow, he had always held back.
But with Reynold crying in his arms, he couldn’t keep them to himself any longer. Even if he was drunk and might not remember this moment clearly tomorrow, Frederick wanted him to hear it, to feel it, and to know just how deeply he was loved.
"I love you too," Frederick murmured, his voice deep and thick with emotion. He cupped the back of Reynold’s head and pressed a long, tender kiss into his soft hair. "I love you so much more than I can ever put into words, sweetheart."
Reynold’s breath caught. He pulled back just enough to look at Frederick, his glassy, tear-stained eyes searching his face as though he was afraid he had heard wrong.
"You... you really mean it?"
"I mean every single word," Frederick promised softly. He brought his hands up to frame Reynold’s warm cheeks, his thumbs gently wiping away the tears tracing down his skin. "I love you. You are the only one I want in my life, in my bed, and in my home. Eva is the past, Reynold. You are my present, and you are my future."
A breathless giggle escaped Reynold through his drunken haze, a bright smile spreading across his tear-streaked face. "Say it again..."
Frederick chuckled softly, affection shining in his eyes as he leaned closer. He brushed his lips against Reynold’s forehead, then the tip of his nose, before pausing just above his mouth.
"I love you, Reynold Corvin... though, at this rate, you’ll be a Corvin soon enough if you keep demanding that I marry you."
Reynold’s cheeks flushed a deep red. He wrapped his arms tightly around Frederick’s neck and looked at him with drunken determination.
"I meant what I said! You’re going to marry me!"
"Gladly," Frederick whispered against his mouth, kissing him tenderly.
He deepened the kiss, his lips moving against Reynold’s in a slow, possessive kiss that tasted of sweet wine and pure devotion. Reynold melted completely in his arms...
