Chapter 69: Chapter 69: A Surprise at the Door pt1

"Alright," he muttered dramatically. "Since you love your sleep more than me, just sleep. I’ll sit down here on the cold floor since you clearly don’t care about me at all."

Henry didn’t even move, completely ignoring the guilt trip.

Elisha smirked when Henry continued to ignore him. Clearly, sitting on the floor wasn’t going to get him any sympathy. He climbed back onto the bed and carefully squeezed himself between Henry’s arms and legs until he found a comfortable spot again. He rested his head on Henry’s chest and pressed a soft kiss there.

Henry slowly opened his eyes and looked down at the man lying on top of him with a tired, sleepy expression. "You are such a pain in the ass, heartbeat."

Elisha grinned up at him, completely unbothered. "And you love me like that, right?"

Henry rolled his eyes, but a sleepy smile tugged at the corners of his lips. He nodded softly. "Yes... I love you."

"Good," Elisha whispered, his eyes softening. "Now kiss me."

Henry sighed and leaned closer, meeting Elisha halfway. He caught Elisha’s lower lip between his own, sucking on it gently before deepening the kiss. Elisha kissed him back, their lips moving together in a slow, lazy rhythm.

When they finally pulled apart, Elisha lifted his head slightly and rested his forehead against Henry’s.

Henry’s eyelids were already growing heavy again. "Now that you’ve gotten what you wanted, can I go back to sleep? Can I?"

Elisha nodded and gently ran his fingers through Henry’s hair. "Yes, pretty. Go back to sleep."

Henry sighed softly and wrapped his arms around Elisha’s shoulders, pulling him closer as he settled back down. Within moments, he drifted off again.

Elisha stayed perfectly still with his head resting on Henry’s chest, looking up at him with a small smile. He listened to Henry’s steady breathing and waited until he was sure he had fallen deeply back asleep. Then he carefully slipped out of bed.

He picked up his phone from the nightstand and sent Vanessa a quick message about the surprise. After that, he went into the bathroom to freshen up and brush his teeth.

When he returned to the bedroom, he walked into the closet and changed into a comfortable set of loungewear before going downstairs. He went back to the bed and looked down at Henry, who was still fast asleep. He gently brushed a strand of hair away from Henry’s face and leaned down to kiss his forehead.

With one last look at Henry, Elisha quietly left the bedroom and headed downstairs.

When he reached the foyer, the maid was waiting nearby.

"Good morning, sir," she greeted politely.

"Morning," Elisha replied with a small smile.

The maid glanced toward the dining room. "Would you like me to set the table, sir?"

"Not yet," Elisha replied. "I’ll wait for Henry to wake up and join me first."

"Alright, sir," the maid said, turning toward the kitchen.

"Wait," Elisha called softly.

The maid stopped and turned back. Elisha stepped closer and quietly whispered a few instructions to her.

The maid nodded as she listened, a small smile appearing on her face. "Alright, sir. I understand."

"Thank you," Elisha replied.

The maid walked away to carry out the instructions, while Elisha made his way into the living room and settled onto the sofa with a small, happy smile.

A few moments later, his phone buzzed on the coffee table. He glanced at the screen and saw that Henry’s mother was calling. He picked it up and answered.

"Good morning, Mom."

"Good morning, Felix," Henry’s mother replied warmly, using Elisha’s middle name. "How are you and Henry doing this morning? Is he behaving himself, or is he already giving you trouble?"

Elisha chuckled and glanced toward the television. "He’s behaving, mostly. Although he spent half the morning kicking me out of bed."

Henry’s mother laughed. "He can be stubborn sometimes, but I can assure you, Felix, my son loves you very much."

Elisha smiled. "I love him just as much, Mom."

"That makes me happy to hear," she said warmly. After a brief pause, her tone became more serious. "Just remember to be patient with him. Marriage takes endurance, understanding, respect, and, most of all, patience."

"Yes, Mom. I understand. Thank you," Elisha replied.

"I’ll talk to him too," Henry’s mother said. "And Felix, if he ever gives you a hard time, don’t hesitate to tell me. I’ll make sure he behaves himself."

Elisha laughed softly. "I’ll remember that, Mom."

They continued talking for a few more minutes before ending the call. Elisha settled back on the long sofa and turned up the volume on the TV, relaxing as he waited for Henry to wake up.

Several hours later, he heard footsteps coming down the stairs. He looked toward the entrance as Henry finally walked into the living room. He had already showered and was wearing one of Elisha’s oversized loungewear shirts, which hung loosely on him.

Elisha smiled when he saw him. "Babe, you’re finally awake."

Henry nodded sleepily and rubbed his eyes. "Mmm."

"Come here," Elisha said, patting the space beside him on the long sofa.

Henry walked over and climbed onto the sofa. Instead of sitting, he immediately lay down on top of Elisha’s chest.

His full weight settled over Elisha, pinning him against the cushions. Henry rested his head against Elisha’s shoulder, arms loosely wrapped around him, as if this was the most natural thing in the world.

Elisha wrapped his arms around him and kissed his hair. "Did you sleep well?"

Henry nodded against Elisha’s shirt. "Yes... But I’m really hungry now."

"Do you want something spicy, or are you hungry for a proper meal?" Elisha asked with a teasing smile.

Henry lifted his head and gave Elisha’s chest a light tap. "A proper meal. What kind of question is that? I’m actually hungry."

Elisha laughed softly. "Alright. Let me call the housekeeper and have the table set."

"Okay," Henry said, settling comfortably against him.

Elisha called for the housekeeper, who came in and set the table with the breakfast that was already prepared. Once she finished, she informed them that everything was ready before returning to her duties.

Elisha and Henry then moved to the dining room and sat down together.

They enjoyed a relaxed breakfast, talking and laughing between bites and occasionally feeding each other. By the time they finished, they were both in a good mood.

They had just wiped their hands and were about to head back to the living room when the doorbell rang.

The maid remained in the kitchen instead of rushing to answer the door, following the instructions Elisha had given her earlier.

Elisha glanced at Henry, keeping his expression casual. "That must be Sarah. She texted me earlier that she was coming over to drop off some documents for me to sign. Could you please get the door for me, babe?"

Henry rolled his eyes with a smile. "Alright, alright. I’ll get it."

Henry stood up, stretched, and walked across the foyer toward the front door. He reached for the handle and pulled it open.

The moment he looked outside, he froze.

Sarah wasn’t standing there.

Instead, someone else was standing in front of him.

Henry’s eyes widened as he stared at the unexpected visitor. For a moment, he couldn’t say a word. He simply stood there...
