Chapter 66: Chapter 66: The Message I Didn’t Expect

Elisha stepped out first, then turned and held out his hand to Henry. Henry took it and stepped out of the car beside him.

Together, they walked into the house, where the household staff greeted them with respectful bows.

"Welcome home, sir. Welcome home, Mr. Griffin."

"Thank you," Elisha replied.

They headed upstairs to the master bedroom suite. Once they stepped inside, Henry shrugged off his suit jacket and tossed it over a chair.

Elisha looked at him with a tired smile. "Let’s take a quick shower together and wash off the day."

After freshening up and changing into their pajamas, they climbed into bed. Henry curled up beside Elisha and rested his head on his arm.

They talked quietly about the wedding and their plans for the next day until their voices gradually faded and they drifted off to sleep.

The next morning, sunlight filtered through the sheer curtains as the new day began.

Elisha and Henry woke up beside each other. Before either of them got out of bed, they turned toward one another and shared a sweet good-morning kiss.

"Good morning, pretty," Elisha murmured.

"Good morning, babe," Henry replied with a sleepy smile.

They stayed in bed for a few more minutes before Elisha reached for his phone on the nightstand and unlocked the screen.

"Let’s see if the news has dropped yet."

Henry moved closer and looked over his shoulder.

The wedding announcement was already all over social media. News outlets and entertainment pages had begun sharing the story, while fans filled the comments with congratulations and excitement.

Elisha smiled as he opened his photo gallery and pulled up the picture of their wedding invitations that he had taken at the office the day before.

He typed a simple caption:

It’s official. I’m marrying my favorite person.

After giving it one last look, he posted the picture.

Within seconds, notifications began filling his phone with likes, reposts, and congratulatory comments.

Elisha chuckled at how quickly everyone had reacted before locking his phone and setting it aside.

"Well, the cat’s officially out of the bag," he said, pulling Henry into a tight hug. "No turning back now."

"As if either of us wanted to," Henry replied with a bright smile.

They eventually got out of bed and freshened up. Once they were ready, they sat together in the seating area and brought out the boxes of wedding invitations.

They began going through the invitations and personally writing the names of their guests, starting with Raphael and his boyfriend, followed by their close friends and family.

Once they had finished the first batch, they set the invitations aside and left the bedroom suite to begin the rest of their day.

After finishing the first batch of invitations, they set the stack neatly aside and headed downstairs to the dining room.

Breakfast was already waiting for them on the dining table. They sat across from each other and ate while talking and laughing together.

Once they finished, Elisha checked his watch before looking at Henry. "Ready to go pick out our rings?"

"Born ready," Henry replied, getting to his feet with an excited smile.

They left the house together and walked toward the waiting car. Their driver stepped forward and opened the rear door, allowing Henry to get in first before Elisha joined him.

A moment later, the driver got behind the wheel and pulled away from the estate. As they headed onto the main road, both Elisha and Henry’s phones began buzzing with notifications.

Henry pulled out his phone and unlocked it. Among the many unread messages, he noticed one from Raphael.

He tapped on it and read the message.

Good morning, Henry. How are you doing?

Henry smiled and quickly replied.

I’m good, Your Highness. How about you?

A few seconds later, another message from Raphael appeared.

I’m doing great. But actually, I have something else to ask you.

Henry raised an eyebrow and replied, "What is it?"

Raphael replied almost immediately.

I just saw Elisha’s post, and I was honestly shocked. My PA told me about the news this morning, but I thought it was just a rumor until I saw Elisha’s post myself. You’re really getting married? How on earth did that happen so fast?!

Henry laughed softly as he read the message.

Elisha glanced over at him. "What’s so funny?"

"Raphael just found out about the wedding," Henry replied, still smiling.

He looked back at his phone and typed:

Even I still can’t quite say how it happened, but it happened. I’m getting married! Your invitation will be sent to you today or tomorrow.

Raphael replied almost instantly.

I’m so incredibly happy for you, Henry! Congratulations!

Thank you, Henry replied. And I’m officially inviting you and your boyfriend to our wedding.

We’ll definitely be there. Congratulations once again!

Thank you, Your Highness, Henry typed with a playful grin before locking his phone and setting it aside.

When he looked over at Elisha, he noticed that Elisha had been watching his phone the entire time.

Henry raised an eyebrow. "You’ve been staring at my phone this whole time. Did you read everything?"

Elisha immediately looked away and cleared his throat, pretending to be completely innocent. "No. I literally just turned my head toward you."

Henry shook his head with an affectionate smile. "I told you Raphael would be completely surprised."

"I know," Elisha replied, his voice softening. "We were just as shocked when we first found out we were getting married. It took us some time to get used to the idea, so I understand why Raphael is reacting like that."

A short while later, the car arrived at the jewelry store. The driver pulled up in front of the entrance and stepped out to open the rear door for them.

Elisha and Henry stepped out and walked inside the luxurious boutique, ready to choose their wedding rings.

As they entered, the store manager, who had known them for years, greeted them with a warm smile.

"Mr. Edmund, Mr. Griffin. Welcome," he said with a polite bow. "And congratulations. I saw the news this morning. That’s wonderful news."

"Thank you," Elisha replied, while Henry smiled warmly.

Elisha turned to the manager. "Bring out your finest wedding rings. We want to see what you have."

"Of course, sir."

The manager led them toward a private viewing area and soon returned with several velvet trays filled with elegant diamond and platinum rings.

Elisha slid one of the trays toward Henry. "Take your time, baby. Pick whichever one you like. Whatever you choose, we’ll get it."

Henry carefully looked through the different designs, taking his time with each one.

The manager noticed his hesitation and offered, "If you don’t find exactly what you’re looking for, we can also create a custom design for you."

"That’s alright," Henry said with a small smile. "They’re all beautiful. I just want to take my time and make the right choice."

Elisha let out a quiet breath of relief, hiding a secret smile, he already had a special plan of his own in motion.

After looking through the different designs for a while, Henry finally pointed to one of the rings.

"This one. This is the one I want."

Elisha looked at the ring, then at Henry, and nodded to the manager.

"Pack it up."

The manager carefully placed the ring into a velvet box and brought it over to the counter. As they prepared to pay, Henry reached for his black card at the same time Elisha pulled out his own.

Elisha smiled and gently stopped him. "I know you’re a wealthy man, husband, but let me take care of this. This one’s on me."

Henry looked at him with an amused smile. "Are you sure?"

"Of course," Elisha replied. "Let me do this for you."

Henry looked at him for a moment before smiling. "Alright."

He put his card away with a quiet laugh.

After the payment was completed, the manager carefully secured the ring inside its elegant presentation box before placing the box in a luxurious jewelry bag. He handed the bag to Elisha with both hands.

"Thank you," Elisha said, taking it carefully.

They left the boutique together and got back into the waiting car. Once they were settled in the back seat, the driver pulled away and headed back toward the estate.

A short while into the drive, Elisha’s phone buzzed.

He glanced at the screen, expecting another message about the wedding, but his expression changed when he saw the sender.

It was Vance.
