Chapter 4227 – Fate Cannot Be Stolen!
Chapter 4227 – Fate Cannot Be Stolen!
Eight abilities of the Plundering Eye had been unlocked.with the exception of Fatesteal?
“Father, why did he unlock Fatesteal first?” Li Tianzi asked solemnly.
Li Muyang stared for a long while at the white light point representing Fatesteal. “One can steal the heavens, the earth, or anything in the vast universe, but to steal fate is an inviolable taboo...”
That one sentence alone was enough to communicate the extraordinary nature of Fatesteal.
“This is the highest summit of the sky plunderers and also the most difficult step. My whole life I never crossed that threshold, unable to steal even a single thread of fate...” Li Muyang’s eyes grew clouded as deep obsession filled his eyes.
Li Tianzi glanced at his own hand. His Plundering Eye already had seven light points lit, but the one that represented Fatesteal was still gray. Li Tianzi suddenly grew agitated and he turned toward Li Muyang. “Father! Just let him use it once. That one time is enough to unravel the fate and destination of our entire family!”
“No.” Li Muyang firmly shook his head. “He doesn’t possess the true ability to wield Fatesteal. It’s merely prematurely awakened. If he tries to use it now, the consequences will be disastrous and could very well cost him his life.”
“It might cost his life. As long as he survives, can’t we make up for any other loss?” Li Tianzi’s fiery gaze turned toward Tianming, his voice heavy. “Second Brother, all of us live in the torment of fate. You’re the same! Use it once, and you can save yourself and everyone else!”
“Silence!” Li Muyang’s face darkened with a flash of anger. He glared at Li Tianzi. “Enough. Don’t let me hear such words again.”
“Father!” Li Tianzi gritted his teeth.
“Don’t overthink it. I’m not going to use it.” Tianming didn’t want to hear any more. He spoke decisively, cutting off Li Tianzi’s desperate persuasion.
“Tianming...” Li Tianzi’s eyes reddened as he looked at him. “You’re selfish! If it were me, I’d give up my own life for the sake of my family! But you can’t even do that. You’re not as good as me!”
“Sure, sure,” Tianming said with a faint smile. “You win. You’re the great one.”
“Enough arguing,” Li Muyang snapped sharply, then turned to Li Tianzi with a stern expression. “Out! Go help your mother awaken your grandparents.”
“Fine!” Li Tianzi took a deep breath, still visibly agitated.
Before leaving, he gave Tianming one last look and said, “One reminder: Don’t tell the citizens about the Primordial Chaos Beasts. Otherwise, you’ll bring upon yourself a calamity beyond imagination.”
“You have Primordial Chaos Beasts too?” Tianming raised an eyebrow.
“What do you think?” Li Tianzi said coolly.
“That’s impossible...” Tianming shook his head in disbelief. To him, the uniqueness of the Primordial Chaos Beasts was a truth left behind by his father.
“Everything is possible.” As soon as Li Tianzi said that, before leaving in the blink of an eye, leaving a sonic boom in his wake.
Only Li Muyang and Tianming remained.
Li Muyang looked at him with deep eyes and said slowly, “Don’t blame your elder brother. While you weren’t here, he’s carried too much and has become desperate to break free of fate. That’s why he’s become so hot-tempered.”
“I understand,” Tianming nodded. Truthfully, he didn’t care. He didn’t care what kind of person Li Tianzi was, nor what burdens he bore. He hardly felt any attachment to this family at all.
Perhaps there was some indirect bond, but it was hard for him to truly feel it.
Li Muyang’s gaze shifted to his arm. “Earlier, I noticed another eye there that belongs to a thousand-eyed Archaionfiend, the kilooptic beast?”
Tianming froze for a moment. So, he’d already seen it? Tianming himself hadn’t realized that the lower layer of that bird’s nest was a kilooptic beast.
He didn’t answer, but Li Muyang went on, “The kilooptic beast is an extremely rare and powerful bloodline among the Archaionfiends. It can bring tremendous transformation to your Plundering Eye. But you’ve only just awakened Daosteal, so don’t use the kilooptic beast yet. You may fail to absorb it completely and waste its potential.”
“When should I use it then?” Tianming asked.
“When your cultivation has grown strong enough and you can stand on your own. By then, I’ll help you unleash its full power,” Li Muyang said.
“All right.” Tianming nodded.
Tianming’s first thought was that Li Muyang could be after the kilooptic beast’s eye for himself. But that thought quickly passed as if Li Muyang truly wanted it, he could’ve taken it easily.
So he chose to listen.
“You’ve just come home. Take your time, it’s normal to feel unfamiliar with everything,” Li Muyang said with a smile. “Once your grandparents awaken, your mother and I will spend more time with you. Your mother especially, thinks of you constantly. These years have been hard on her...”
Before he could finish, there was a loud disturbance afar as two clouds, one black, one white, spiraled toward the heavens. Li Muyang looked over and said with emotion, “Your grandparents have awakened. Come, I’ll take you to visit them.”
“All right.” Since he had to meet them sooner or later, Tianming simply followed Li Muyang out.
At the doorway, Li Muyang turned to Mu Qingqing and said, “It’s been a long time since the elders have seen you too. You should come.”
“Yes, Father,” Mu Qingqing nodded, stepping up beside Tianming. She wanted to take his arm, but one glare from him made her shrink back. Instead, she followed quietly, a little aggrieved.
“The two sky plunderer ancestors have awakened!”
“That’s wonderful!”
As Tianming and the others hurried through Skyplunder Capital, countless people cheered with joy, eyes shining with reverence.
“Since you’ve returned, everyone’s spirits have lifted. The entire Nullity is thriving again. There’s hope in everyone’s eyes,” Li Muyang commented, glancing down at the bustling streets below.
“They still believe in Tianming,” Mu Qingqing said softly.
“Yes...” Li Muyang smiled faintly, turning to Tianming. “Before your grandparents went into slumber, they said they would not wake for any reason, unless you returned home.”
“Oh.” Tianming nodded vaguely.
Li Muyang wasn’t surprised by his indifference. His gaze dimmed slightly before he sighed. “Tianming, they don’t have much time left.”
Tianming pressed his lips together, offering no reply.
Not much time left...
But truthfully, he couldn’t bring himself to care.
After that, silence fell between father and son, until they arrived at Oleruler Palace.
Countless cosmic gods were celebrating outside this palace. But as soon as they stepped inside, quietness returned. Tianming followed Li Muyang into a grand and lofty hall. Two towering figures appeared, Wei Jing and Li Tianzi!
Tianming’s steps slowed slightly as he stepped inside. Where were his grandparents?
