Chapter 1460 - 1422: Wishing Technique (Part 2)

The flames hit the shield, then spread across the building.

The bodies and furniture outside the shield, even the marble as smooth as a mirror, were burning!

Tishaya squinted, trying to see clearly amid the intense interplay of light and shadow.

Hanging from Viggo Fortez’s belt was a pendant that looked like a small iron disc etched with some kind of pattern, or perhaps like a bottle cap.

"That’s the magic bottle cap Geoffrey Monk once used to imprison a djinn! Holding the cap grants control over the djinn inside the bottle!"

Henry Gemitis, inside the shield, locked eyes with Viggo Fortez floating in mid-air, and said in a deep voice.

"You are still young, Tishaya. You haven’t witnessed this item yourself, but I have!"

"Now, take everyone and leave! Get out as fast as you can! Run!"

Outside the shield, the flames had already burned the stone tower into a near-flowing gel-like state, resembling lava.

Some warlocks, whom Gedemitis earlier failed to protect, died, their bodies burned away.

But more warlocks found their own ways to survive; after all, they were all Grand Mages who could attend the meeting.

In an instant, as the dark and complex situation was ignited by Viggo Fortez’s laughter, all the slaughter and violence exploded simultaneously between the two camps!

Avoidance, pursuit, shifting, escaping... The wizards, who had initially gathered politely, scattered like stars and clouds, each fleeing for their lives.

Until Lann punched through a hole and crawled in, the chaos magic power here was still so thick that it could slowly make a normal person’s mouth bleed, dizzy, and ears ring.

The Demon Hunter bent down and entered through the hole, without a moment of surprise.

In his hand, Aron Dite, with a blade like autumn water, was raised beside his ear, and with a light clang, the incoming arrowhead was reflected back, piercing into an elf’s heart.

Without even turning his head, he relied solely on the sound of the wind, his superior senses completing an analysis in the complex environment.

His left hand grabbed the head of an elf who rushed forward with a knife with a ’pop’, and then with a ’crack’, he pressed it against the wall behind him!

The spraying blood from the head squeezed and shattered created a large mark on the wall.

The two actions were completed simultaneously, clean and swift.

A string of electricity ’crackled’ towards his direction.

The Demon Hunter merely glanced at it with his deep eyes, and then with a swish!

A bright silver light flickered slightly, and the magic electricity vanished into thin air like natural lightning.

Only the peculiar scent of magic lingered in his nostrils.

The pendant on Lann’s neck had been jumping incessantly since he came in.

This tower still held numerous warlocks, five floors, over seventy rooms, plenty of places to hide and hunt.

In such circumstances, the warlocks would not irrationally use highly destructive magic; instead, brief, quick, and covert casting was more important.

In this stone tower, which was extremely fragile after being first heated to hot and then cooled, the warlocks and Squirrel Faction were entangled in a melee, leaving no one able to escape directly.

Hence, they could only leave by killing the others here completely.

This lightning was not even an intentional attack, but merely drew over by a warlock who heard the commotion.

But Lann had no time to deal with the few squirrels still fighting.

According to Mentos’s markings on the stability points inside the building, his bone-white figure started with a gale that could be called ’fierce’!

Nothing could stop him except the fragile structural parts of the building, all other obstacles shattered under his charge!

His strong muscles covered in solid armor allowed the stone of the walls to easily crumble before Lann.

So did the people blocking his way.

The complex environment did not advantage the Squirrel Faction.

Their so-called ’sneak attack’ had already been marked out by Mentos’s battlefield analysis as probabilities.

The places suitable for hiding or acting, Lann only needed a glance, and Mentos’s markers were comprehensively laid out.

Despite the killing, escaping, and chasing within the tower, everyone generally sensed the fragility of the building and dared not use powerful spells.

But with Lann’s rapid blitz, his superb mobility let him break through a floor in mere seconds, crashing into the next one!

A series of four loud wall-shattering impacts echoed in the vast tower.

And when Lann burst with rubble and disturbed dust into the fifth floor.

All he saw was the completely melted and uplifted ceiling and the only two people left on the floor.

Henry Gemitis’s chest was open, yet the robe outside remained intact, merely soaked with blood.

His healthy heart, pressed in by Lann’s own hand, now lay to the side.

However, this strongest human warlock was still not dead; Tishaya, with disheveled hair and a tear-streaked face, supported him, using magic to sustain his life.

"What happened?"

Lann’s pupils contracted when he saw Gedemitis on the brink of death; although they hadn’t interacted much, at their first meeting, this Old Wizard had already shown the young Demon Hunter how terrifying he was.

And now... had he been defeated so quickly? Had his heart removed?

"Tishaya, where are the others?"

Though shocked, Lann forcibly controlled his mind and calmly asked.

Tishaya only continued to weep, speaking through her tears.

"He was no match for Gedemitis if not for the djinn’s wishing technique..."

Tishaya looked up at him with a forlorn and defeated gaze Lann had never seen before.

"Viggo Fortez left, to pursue Ciri."

Lann’s eyebrows furrowed, then relaxed.

"Don’t be despondent, Tishaya. Get Gedemitis to the Crystal Cultivation Laboratory; with you holding on, and with Matty down below, he should make it until another heart is placed back."

"No." Tishaya shook her head sorrowfully, as if she had lost an old friend in her arms, "Viggo Fortez said he already sent people... wait!"

Mid-sentence, Tishaya suddenly turned her head!

"Did you safeguard the laboratory?! Saved our equipment and techniques!"

"Take him there." Lann nodded and said, "It’s very safe. In fact, on Sandy Island, only these rebel warlocks should remain."

Saying no more, Tishaya immediately maintained the magic, making the heartless body of Gedemitis float as she rushed outside.

"Be careful, Lann!" She knew what the Demon Hunter was going to do next, "Viggo Fortez found the djinn Geoffrey Monk had captured! He now possesses nearly infinite chaos magic power! Moreover..."

"At worst, his djinn can still grant two wishes!"
