As Alistair’s soul screamed in pure anger, Brunhild quickly seized control of it and forced the raging spirit to calm down.

“You’ll be working for me from now on, Alistair,” she said with a confident smirk. “I’ve turned your soul into a crystal and fused it into this weapon made from the metal you produced. Be glad I’ve given you a second chance rather than eating your soul entirely.”

“I...! I...! HAHA....! HAHAHAHAHA!”

Alistair laughed wildly, spreading dark, murky curses through Brunhild’s hands in a desperate attempt to seize her entire body.

“I WILL POSSESS YOUR BODY! I AM A CURSED WEAPON, FOOL!”

Darkness seeped rapidly through Brunhild’s bloodstreams. Shadows and blood energy seemed ready to overcome her completely.

“My favorite,” she replied calmly.

However, Brunhild only smiled wider. She opened her mouth and began absorbing everything the spirit threw at her.

FLUOSH!

“W-WHAAAAT?!”

Alistair’s soul trembled in shock as Brunhild easily absorbed his cursed power and converted it into pure Mana. She was fairly certain her father could do the same if needed.

“I’ll baptize you with my fire so you don’t try anything funny...! Bear with me for a second, Alistair.”

“W-What are you— GYAAAAHHHHHHH!”

Alistair screamed in agony as golden and red flames surged across the weapon. The divine fire burned his exterior and refined him one final time while Brunhild carefully used Alchemy to finish the process.

As this happened, Brunhild drank a Mana Elixir and activated Evolution, further advancing the Polearm into a true Pseudo-Legendary Weapon.

“Wow, so this is the power of Soul Crystals and Evolution...!” Brunhild swallowed hard, feeling the weapon’s immense presence. Her entire family could sense its strength as well. “It’s stronger than Atlas, dad!”

“Y-Your axe?!” Ragnar asked in surprise. “S-So cool!”

Her father carefully held the Polearm and felt the angry, fighting soul of Alistair trapped within. Yet the spirit could barely make the weapon tremble now. He could not control it unless his true master allowed it.

“Alistair, my father Ragnar is now your second owner,” Brunhild ordered clearly. “Unless I want you to return to my side, always remain with him and protect him at all costs. You can only act if it is by protecting him and alerting him of danger.”

“DAMN YOUUUUU!!! DAMN YOU ALL, HUMANS!!!”

Alistair’s furious voice echoed angrily inside the Polearm, but unless Brunhild permitted it, no one else could hear his words until he got his attitude under control and became a little more polite.

“Thanks, baby, this is amazing,” Ragnar said warmly, pulling his daughter into a proud hug. “I will use this well! I’ll protect the entire family with it. Oh, I can already feel its power... I am really compatible with it!”

“Yep,” Brunhild nodded with satisfaction. “Alright, now that we’re done with this... Let’s keep making more equipment!”

The entire family began working together on crafting new gear and improving the equipment they already owned. The forge filled with the steady sounds of hammers, the glow of magical flames, and the careful flow of spiritual energy.

The hardest part was deciding where to place the strongest Soul Crystals they possessed. After careful discussion they ultimately decided to grant the Snow Elf Hunter Dhampir Crystal to Frigga’s sword, the Winter King’s Crystal to Astrid, and the Catfish Crystal to Sigrid after Magnus humbly rejected it for himself.

The Catfish Crystal was carefully infused into a new bow crafted specially for Sigrid. Meanwhile Frigga and Astrid’s broadswords were reinforced with powerful new materials and then imbued with their respective Soul Crystals.

The power-up was immediately noticeable. Simply holding their upgraded weapons caused strong auras to rise around them, auras that closely resembled the souls of the bosses whose crystals now resided inside.

Unlike Alistair, these spirits did not fight back. They remained mostly passive and showed no deep intellect or personality.

Brunhild had hoped Ezekiel might speak the way Alistair did, but he unfortunately remained completely silent, offering not a single word after his death.

As for the rest of the Soul Crystals, which were still quite strong, they were all carefully imbued into newly forged equipment. Armor, boots, gloves, and helmets were crafted and distributed among the family. Brunhild returned to her forge multiple times, producing additional Soul Crystals so that every piece of gear could be filled with as much power as possible.

After four full hours of nonstop work, the entire family was finally fully armed once more.

And as for Brunhild? She stood quietly inspecting her own weapon, Atlas. The axe was already impressive on its own. She considered whether she should imbue it with a Soul Crystal now or wait for a stronger one later.

She then glanced down at the clothes she wore beneath her armor. A red dress infused with vampiric power clung comfortably to her body. On her head rested an obsidian, bat-themed helmet that protected her well and granted cursed powers she could easily control.

She had carefully imbued Soul Crystals into both of these pieces, granting herself several new passive abilities that greatly enhanced her physical defenses and overall mobility.

Now, almost finished, only a few tasks remain. She still needed to address the items she had obtained from the treasure chest dropped by Alistair, and she also needed to Rank Up her Classes.
