’With my great-grandson or great-granddaughter about to be born, it’s all the more reason for me to stay healthy and keep on living.’

’Besides, I still want to see my younger sister and the in-laws...’ Mr. Du said nonchalantly, "What’s the big deal? Why didn’t your mother tell me herself?"

Shen Yi said, "Well, she was worried you wouldn’t say yes. Does this mean you’ve agreed?"

Mr. Du asked, "Will you and Xiao Jiao be going as well?"

Just then, Qin Jiao turned her head and said, "Grandpa, I won’t be able to go with you. That’s right around my due date."

’I’ll be about to give birth then; they probably won’t even let me on a plane.’

And if Qin Jiao wasn’t going, Shen Yi certainly wouldn’t either. Mr. Du felt a little disappointed, but he couldn’t very well refuse to go abroad for treatment just for that reason.

If he refused to go just to see his great-grandchild be born, the kids would probably feel guilty.

After the dinner party, everyone started to leave. Qin Xiaolan still had one day off, so she stayed over, sharing a room with Xiao Shi.

Xiao Shi seized the opportunity to ask Qin Xiaolan about some questions on her practice tests.

Qin Xiaolan didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. "Xiao Shi, you study way too hard! With your family’s situation now, you don’t need to push yourself like this."

Xiao Shi shook her head. "Right now, it’s my parents and my sister who are doing all the hard work. When I grow up, I’ll let them all rest. They can travel the world, or stay home to garden and play with birds—whatever they want to do. I’ll be the one to go out and earn money to support them."

Qin Xiaolan was speechless.

After some self-reflection, she realized she was nowhere near her younger cousin’s level of maturity.

Qin Xiaolan thought for a moment and asked, "What about when you get married? What if your future partner doesn’t agree with you earning money to support your family?"

Xiao Shi’s reply was even more direct. "Then he’s out."

Qin Xiaolan was stunned for a second time. In the end, she silently gave her little cousin a thumbs-up.

’This girl is going to have a very promising future!’

After long preparations, the restaurant finally opened during the National Day holiday.

The waiters and back-of-house staff were all in place, and the promotional efforts were well-executed.

Sun Lili was bustling about, running back and forth. She had lost a noticeable amount of weight but was full of spirit. When she saw Qin Jiao holding something, she immediately rushed over and said, "Hey there, pregnant boss-lady, you should be resting. If you so much as stumble, I bet your Boss Shen will throw every last one of us out."

"It’s not that serious. Besides, I’m your boss. Why are you afraid of him?"

Sun Lili shook her head. "That’s where you’re wrong. As a fellow alum, I can afford to offend Shen Yi. But I can’t afford to offend *your* Boss Shen. Get it?"

The phrasing was a little roundabout, but Qin Jiao understood. Others could get away with offending Shen Yi, but if anyone offended her, Shen Yi would never let them off the hook.

Many people came for the restaurant’s grand opening, and everyone made a point of coming over to chat with Qin Jiao. Before long, a couple arrived and had a valuable gift sent over.

Qin Jiao immediately said, "Uncle Sun, you really shouldn’t have! Just having you here is more than enough."

The visitors were none other than Sun Lili’s parents.

Sun Lili, who was standing nearby, chimed in, "Eh, they’re loaded. Just accept whatever they bring."

The gift they brought was incredibly valuable—a whole case of Maotai!

This was something that would only get more expensive and harder to find in the future!

Qin Jiao quickly said, "This is far too valuable."

Mr. Sun smiled and said, "Please, take it. To be honest, when Lili first went to work at your clothing company, we were against it. We even gave her a piece of our minds, but she was determined to go. Then, before we knew it, she was telling us she was going to help you open a restaurant. Our first reaction was to object to that, too—we even had a huge fight over it. But since then, we’ve seen how much she’s grown and matured. This environment has been a great place for her to challenge herself and grow. So really, we have you to thank for everything."
