Baby with Daoist Monarch System
Chapter 1113 - 505: Liberation
Chapter 505
Still the same solitary figure, but the feeling it gives is worlds apart.
His body no longer has the texture of flesh; it seems to be molded from the deepest night sky and the most dazzling star dust, in a contradictory yet harmonious manner. Chaotic-colored glimmers flow over his surface, like an unparalleled Dao robe.
The thing that nearly shattered the Thunder Lord’s Heart Spirit was his eyes.
What kind of eyes were those?
No words could describe them.
When those eyes glanced unconsciously in their direction, the Thunder Lord felt his very own "Thunder Dao," the foundation that supported him to become a supreme giant, like a newborn infant facing the Cosmos that created it.
It was not fear, but a kind of submission that originates from the essence of life.
It was as if with just a thought, his Dao could be erased from the level of "existence," and revert back to the most primordial "law."
"What has he... what has he become..." the Thunder Lord muttered to himself, as a crack appeared in his Dao Heart for the first time.
Wen Xi wiped the blood from the corner of her mouth, her eyes filled with unparalleled complexity. There was shock, confusion, reverence, and also a deep sense of powerlessness.
She spoke softly, as if responding to the Thunder Lord, yet also as if telling herself.
"He did not choose Fire, nor did he choose Gui Xu."
"He... transcended them."
"He has embarked on a new path, which no living being has ever traversed before."
"From today on, perhaps the Guardian of the Sea of Realms Dam will no longer require the ’blessing’ of Fire."
...
The Dao Ruins was walking.
His world was different from any other being.
In his eyes, the dam beneath his feet was no longer cold and bloodied ancient stones.
But a ceaselessly flowing "river of time."
Each brick of the dam engraved with a lament of an era. He could "see" how many eras ago, a dazzling Sword Master fought and died here, his final sword strike turning into an everlasting sword mark that still wails deep within the bulwark.
He could "hear" from more ancient times, a supreme Array Emperor using himself as an Array Hub, merging his Divine Soul and Dao into this dam, becoming an eternal Divine Array safeguarding the bulwark, its indomitable will still roaring today.
He could "touch" those who died in battle, fell, or were polluted, all of whom gave everything to protect this "existence," leaving behind their deepest "obsession."
These obsessions, in the past, were deathly silent and cold.
But at this moment, when the Dao Ruins walked past, these eternally slumbering obsessions seemed to sense a kindred spirit, and a faint "warmth" emerged.
They welcomed him.
Welcomed this one, a fellow "companion" who gave his all to this dam.
The Dao Ruins’ "Ruins Dao Body," responded to all this.
The Chaos Origin Power within him flowed out naturally, like a spring breeze turning into rain, silently soothing these undying obsessions.
The wailing sword mark gradually calmed.
The roaring divine array slowly subsided.
He did nothing, yet his mere "existence" was a form of "consolation."
Because he understood their "Dao," and also understood their "mourning."
Step by step, he walked through thousands of bulwarks.
Along the way, all "anomalies," all "pollution remnants," were naturally "corrected" as he passed, restoring the dam to its most primordial "order."
He was like a moving "Purification Source," a walking "Dao Baseline."
Finally, he stopped walking.
In front of him appeared an entirely different scene.
This was atop the twenty-thousandth bulwark.
There were no terrifying pollution overgrowths or frightening Gui Xu fissures there.
Instead, it was a well....
A gigantic, unfathomably deep "Black Well."
The diameter of its mouth spanned three whole bulwarks, and within was a darkness more profound than Gui Xu, as if time itself was devoured.
Around the well mouth, a grayish "dust" floated.
This was not material dust, but the "ashen remnants of time."
The Dao Ruins could "see" that each particle of dust was an entire Cosmos, a civilization, from birth to peak, then to final thermal death, collapse into void... a complete epitome.
The "end" of countless Cosmoses, compressed into this grayish "time dust," drifting here.
Any existence conceptually bound by "lifespan," once contaminated by this dust, even a supreme giant, would instantly be inflicted with countless eons of "aging," exhausting all lifespan, turning into a withered skeleton, only then for the skeleton itself to weather away into dust.
This place was the "Era Wailing Well."
It was a forbidden place in the Sea of Realms, where the final "echoes" and "resentments" of numerous naturally concluded or destroyed Cosmoses, gathered like innumerable rivers meeting the sea, accumulated and settled.
It was not a direct creation of Gui Xu, yet far more dangerous than many Gui Xu breaches.
Because what it attacked was not "Dao," not "law," but "time" itself.
"Ooo... ooo..."
It was as if countless worlds simultaneously emitted their dying wails from within the well.
The sound was not harsh, yet it could reach the depths of the Divine Soul, awakening in all beings the most primal fear of "end" and "death."
It was a "spiritual plague" that could plunge even the most resolute Dao Heart into eternal despair.
