Ryan finished examining the inheritance rewards and stored everything in his spatial storage.
A moment later, the trial space began to tremble.
The black moon in the sky gradually faded, and the surrounding scenery started breaking apart into countless white particles.
[Inheritance Trial Completed.]
[Returning the user to the original location...]
Ryan’s vision blurred briefly.
When he opened his eyes again, he was standing in front of the Forgotten Spirit Altar inside the forest.
The ancient monument had lost its glow. The markings engraved on its surface gradually disappeared before the entire altar returned to its previous appearance.
Ryan glanced at it.
"I wonder if there are more altars like this."
If there were other inheritance altars scattered throughout the dungeon, he might be able to obtain several more valuable inheritances.
He was particularly interested in finding inheritances related to alchemy, blacksmithing, formations, and other useful professions.
After all, not every inheritance needed to be combat-related.
Ryan turned away from the monument and continued exploring.
He kept Soul Vision active as he walked through the forest, examining the spiritual traces left behind by the strange creatures.
Occasionally, he encountered small groups of monsters. Most were spiritual creatures with different appearances, ranging from floating wisps of light to strange beasts with partially transparent bodies.
However, Ryan didn’t need to deal with them personally.
His summons were already clearing the surrounding areas.
Through his connection with them, he could occasionally receive notifications about their progress.
[Spirit Wolf has defeated a Forgotten Forest Spirit.]
[Spirit Serpent has defeated a Thousand-Faced Phantom.]
[Death Knight has defeated a Spirit Guardian.]
[Orc Shaman Chief has defeated an Ancient Forest Wraith.]
Ryan glanced at the notifications before continuing forward.
"Looks like they’re doing fine."
He wasn’t particularly concerned about the monsters on the first floor. With his current strength and the number of powerful summons under his command, ordinary encounters posed little threat.
After walking for several more minutes, he reached a narrow path surrounded by enormous trees.
Unlike the rest of the forest, the trees here had pale silver leaves. Their branches extended toward one another, forming a natural archway above the path.
Ryan stopped.
His Soul Vision detected a strange concentration of spiritual energy beyond the archway.
"Hmm?"
He looked more closely.
There was something unusual about the area. The spiritual energy wasn’t simply gathering around a particular object or creature. Instead, it seemed to be flowing toward a point deeper inside the forest.
Ryan walked beneath the archway.
The moment he crossed it, a system notification appeared.
[Hidden Area Discovered: Silverleaf Sanctuary.]
[This location contains traces of an ancient spiritual inheritance.]
Ryan raised an eyebrow.
"Another hidden location?"
He looked down the path.
It seemed this dungeon is full of mnay inheritances.
With a slight smile, Ryan continued forward.
Ryan followed the narrow path deeper into the Silverleaf Sanctuary.
The further he walked, the stronger the spiritual energy became. The silver leaves above him occasionally released tiny particles of light, which drifted through the air before disappearing.
Unlike the Forgotten Spirit Forest, this area felt peaceful. There were no strange creatures hiding between the trees, and even the spiritual traces Ryan detected with Soul Vision seemed unusually calm.
After walking for a while, he arrived at a large open space.
At its center stood a beautiful silver tree.
Its trunk was several dozen meters wide, and its branches extended across the entire clearing. Countless silver leaves covered its crown, while its roots spread across the ground like enormous intertwined snakes.
Ryan activated Soul Vision and examined it.
A moment later, several notifications appeared.
[Ancient Silver Spirit Tree Detected.]
[Rank: Ancient]
[Type: Spiritual Lifeform]
[Status: Dormant]
[Description: An ancient spiritual tree that once served as a sanctuary for numerous spirit races. Its branches contain concentrated spiritual energy, while its roots can absorb and purify various forms of spiritual essence.]
Ryan looked at the tree with interest.
"An Ancient-rank spiritual tree?"
He approached it and noticed a small stone platform near its roots.
Unlike the Forgotten Spirit Altar, this platform wasn’t covered in complicated markings. Instead, several empty grooves had been carved into its surface.
Ryan examined them.
"Hmm... Is something missing?"
Just then, another notification appeared.
[Silverleaf Sanctuary Inheritance Platform]
[Condition: Ancient Silver Spirit Tree must be awakened.]
[Required Energy: Pure Spiritual Energy.]
[Additional Condition: A compatible spiritual inheritance must be offered.]
Ryan rubbed his chin.
"So I need to awaken the tree first."
He looked at the Ancient Silver Spirit Tree again.
Fortunately, he had several abilities and resources that might be useful for this purpose.
He opened his inventory and examined the available items.
After a moment, he took out a small crystal containing concentrated spiritual energy. It was one of the materials he had obtained from his previous dungeon explorations.
He placed it inside one of the grooves.
The platform immediately reacted.
[Compatible Spiritual Energy Detected.]
[Energy Absorption Initiated.]
The crystal gradually dissolved as its energy spread throughout the platform.
However, the tree remained dormant.
Ryan frowned slightly.
"Not enough?"
He took out another crystal and placed it in the second groove.
This time, the roots beneath the ground began moving.
A faint silver glow spread through the soil, traveling toward the tree’s trunk.
[Ancient Silver Spirit Tree has absorbed sufficient spiritual energy.]
[Awakening Process Initiated.]
The entire clearing trembled.
One by one, the silver leaves began glowing. The branches moved gently despite the absence of wind, and a wave of pure spiritual energy spread throughout the sanctuary.
Ryan took a few steps back and watched.
A few seconds later, a small figure emerged from the tree trunk.
It looked like a young girl with long silver hair and translucent wings. Her body was surrounded by tiny particles of light, and her eyes were the same color as the silver leaves.
She looked around the clearing before noticing Ryan.
"Human... Did you awaken me?"
Ryan nodded.
"Yeah. I found this place while exploring."
The little spirit tilted her head.
"An outsider who managed to enter the Silverleaf Sanctuary... How unusual."
Ryan examined her with Soul Vision.
[Silverleaf Spirit]
[Rank: Ancient]
[Type: High Spirit]
[Level: 280]
[Status: Weakened]
[Description: A guardian spirit born from the Ancient Silver Spirit Tree. She possesses strong spiritual and healing abilities and can communicate with ancient spiritual lifeforms.]
Ryan’s eyes brightened slightly.
An Ancient-rank spirit was already valuable, but what interested him more was the inheritance platform.
"Can you tell me about that platform?" he asked, pointing toward it.
The little spirit turned around.
"That is the Silverleaf Inheritance Platform. It preserves the knowledge of the ancient spirit guardians who once protected this sanctuary."
She paused before continuing.
"However, most of those inheritances have been sealed away. Only someone who awakens the Ancient Silver Spirit Tree can access them."
Ryan looked at the platform again.
"Then I suppose I came to the right place."
The little spirit nodded.
"Would you like to examine the available inheritances?"
Ryan smiled.
"Of course."
