Chapter 54: Chapter - 54: Planning

"Didn’t I tell you that she will not accept it?" Suddenly the red haired girl sitting a little further away from the group said as she looked at their surprised expressions.

Though sitting in a little distance, her presence was never out of anyone’s sight, especially from some boys whose eyes were fixed on her beautiful features.

"Your highness, but you were also the one who suggested sending them the invitations" Jin replied as he tries to understand what Kajol wanted.

"Of course because the invitations have already served their purpose, it doesn’t matter if they accept it or not" Princess Kajol replied with a smile.

But it made Jin and Crystal to have a look of confusion on their faces.

"Oh did it mean to prevent them from taking the other side?" Suddenly another student said as if realizing the meaning of her words.

Jin finally understanding the meaning has a look of realization "now if they don’t stay neutral then it will reflect that they are the one at fault."

Kajol nodded "Yes. We have already expressed a gesture of friendship towards them but they haven’t accepted it, if now they accept any kind of offer from Ralf’s group, it will be directly making them the enemy of the noble faction."

"Wow your highness! You are so smart!" One of the boys chimed in with praises.

"Thank you for your appreciation." Kajol replied with a beautiful smile but her mind was running over some other thoughts.

*Of course it doesn’t matter if they take Jin’s side or whoever wins the student council election. As long as Kai and Elena stay away from Ralf, then the next ’event’ has a chance of success, taking the story back on track.*

Just when Kajol was lost in her thoughts, another student suddenly entered the room.

"Lord Jin, I need to report something." He said to Jin, and everyone looked back at the student curiously.

"What’s the matter?" Jin asked.

"Ian Cama has sent back the invitation with an apology, saying that he can’t join our faction." The student reply with a look of regret.

"But why?" Crystal who has been listening from the side asked the question.

"He said that although he is honored by Lord Jin’s invitation, he has decided not to join the noble faction because... it might create unnecessary problems in his relationship with his girlfriend."

Crystal blinked twice "...That’s it?"

The student gave an awkward nod. "Those were his exact words."

....

Kai’s POV:-

Saturday evening of the same week.

The lively streets of the royal capital were even more crowded than usual. The weekend had drawn countless people out of their homes, filling the marketplaces with cheerful conversations and the voices of merchants enthusiastically advertising their goods.

"This place looks really nice." Ian said with visible admiration as the three of us stepped inside one of the finest restaurants in the central district.

Today I am looking around the market place with Dalas and Ian, and the reason is simple.

To prepare for the ’Date’ on the day of Elena’s birthday.

I asked to take her out for the day so we can avoid the ’incident’ that will happen on that day in the academy completely but it somehow turned into a plan for a date.

So now I need to prepare for it, after all it will be our first date and on the day of her birthday at that.

"Lady Elena will surely like this place" Dalas said as he looked around the well decorated place, with a well mannered staff and some fancy dishes on the menu.

Unlike ordinary restaurants that focused on serving as many customers as possible, this place emphasized elegance and privacy.

Soft classical music played quietly in the background while every table was separated by decorative partitions filled with blooming flowers, allowing guests to enjoy their meals without being disturbed.

"Of course it would be, after all it is under the Walker family."

I replied as I made my way to the reception where an elegant lady in her twenties welcomed us with a professional smile the moment we approached.

"Welcome sir, how may I help you?" The lady asked respectfully, definitely used to serving nobles.

"I want to reserve a special table for two, for the upcoming tuesday....."

I told her the day, time and about the birthday and the date so the preparations wouldn’t be lacking.

"Is that Kai?" Suddenly I heard a familiar voice from the backroom of the restaurant as a boy not much older than me walked out.

"Ralf?" I looked back in surprise.

It’s true that the restaurant belongs to the Walker family, but I haven’t expected Ralf to be here at this time when his rival faction is trying to pull the students on their side in the academy.

"Didn’t expect to see you here. Come let’s talk inside."

Ralf offered us to join him in the backroom where I don’t know what gathering is going on but I rejected the idea and told him the reason I am here for.

"Oh so you are preparing for a date with lady Elena? Don’t worry, now that you are here, leave everything to us. Our staff will prepare the best date for you-"

"Big talks for someone ignoring his own date."

Ralf’s words were cut short by a female voice as his girlfriend Minnie walked out from the backroom.

"Ah..you were in a date? I apologize for the disturbance lady Minnie."

I apologize even if it was not my fault because I don’t want to become an enemy of a yandere.

"It’s fine Lord Kai. As long as you swear to support Ralf in the elections and ease his worries, I can forgive it."

"Minnie! Watch what you say!" Ralf called back at her with visible displeasure over her words.

"But weren’t you so worried over it? That’s why I planned this date to ease your mood! hmph..." Minnie replied in disappointment and returned to the backroom in anger.

*Suddenly I actually feel sorry for her*

"Sigh.... Kai sorry for that. You don’t have to mind her words. I understand that being from a high noble family, you can at most remain neutral."

Ralf said as he apologizes for Minnie’s behaviour.

"Actually.....I can support you." Thinking about it for a moment I replied.

"What? For real?" Ralf asked in surprise.

And he wasn’t the only one, but even Ian and Dalas behind me also looked in shock.

"What are you saying Kai? We have just rejected the noble faction’s invitation a few days ago and if you support Senior Ralf now then...."

Ian said as he himself had been thinking over his action of returning the invitation since that day.

"Don’t worry about it" I replied to Ian and then turned back to Ralf

"I can support you but of course not without a condition. But I can’t tell you the details here, let’s talk about it tomorrow. For now you should focus on your date."

I told Ralf as I thought over a hidden possibility.

After bidding bye to Ralf, we went around the market place further looking around more places when I noticed something unusual.

There were a higher number of royal guards around the city, patrolling more than usual.

*Not again.* I tensed up subconsciously.

"Dalas do you know what is going on in the city?" I asked Dalas who should probably have some information about the situation.

"Oh that? I heard it’s because they are going to execute some bigshot criminal a few days later. They say that he is a terrorist so the authorities are more cautious than normal." Dalas replied as he gives details of the situation.

*Right, now I remembered it*

The attack in the academy that will happen in the event will be because the terrorist group wanted to hold hostage and use prince Lucian and other noble kids to threaten the royal court into releasing that criminal.

And it happens precisely when the principal Alfred Cupin is away from the capital and the vice principal Janet will be engaged in fighting against some unknown grand mage who will lead the terrorist group.

In the game, by the time the royal guards and other reinforcements reached the academy, the heroine and the three capture targets, although badly injured were able to fight back against the terrorist group. The only one to die was Maya.

Unfortunately, no sage ever appeared in the game so I don’t know if there’s even any in the capital right now or not, otherwise they could have instantly reached the academy and defeated the enemy before anything bad happens.

Or maybe there’s but they don’t want to make a move? Info related to sages are top secret for any kingdom so a student like me can’t get access to them.

.....

In a very dark place, away from the bustling of the city, some people have gathered in a quiet room. All of these people have their faces covered by black masks.

"The operation will be on the day after tomorrow." One of the men, visibly taller and muscular than others said in a rusky voice.

"We have two objectives. First hold the second prince hostage until Behran is released. And the second....."

".....get rid of Kai Shen."
