Atticus’s Odyssey: Reincarnated Into A Playground

Chapter 1466 Princess

Chapter 1466  Princess

“Ooou, that frown. Makes your beautiful face so ugly, to be honest.”

A man smiled, amused, at the petite girl not more than five feet tall standing before him. A thick, brownish will spiraled around him, making the air heavy.

But she didn’t answer, only offering a cold, silent glare.

The man chuckled.

“Why so angry, princess? I’m just following orders.”

“You annoy me.” Her voice was childlike, just as her appearance.

“I don’t know why. Maybe because you’re her errand boy. Maybe it’s the way you sound. Maybe it’s your stupid face. Or maybe because I’m staring at a fool. Your entire existence irritates me. You’d be doing the world a favor by slitting your throat.”

The man’s smile vanished. He was a subordinate of her mother, yes, but still a respectable baron-rank god. No one of that standing would take insults from a child lightly.

“Your mother wants you back, princess. None of this would happen if you simply listened.”

“You can tell that woman to go fuck herself. I do whatever the fuck I want.”

“…then you leave me no choice. Ascendance.”

A golden will burst from him, condensing into a thick shield that engulfed his body. “Your foolishness knows no bounds. You think you can fight me?”

His face darkened. She was young, too young, but still powerful.

‘The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree.’

“I never said I’d fight you directly.”

He glanced toward a distant clash where a battle raged on.

The girl narrowed her eyes. “I knew you were disgusting the moment I saw you.”

“Make an oath to return to the empress after this game, and your subordinates don’t have to die.”

Only a god could battle a god; champions fought champions. A god interfering directly would break the rules he was trying to exploit. She saw his play, and it grated her.

But it wasn’t for the reason he expected, she simply hated cowardice to her core.

“Cowardly fools like you taint this world. Riftwalk”

Her golden will flared as she vanished and reappeared before him. It coalesced into a giant fist that hurled toward the man. He reacted, raising his arm to form a golden shield. The attack slammed into it in a blaze of light and sound.

“Ark!”

The man blasted backward in a streak of gold, fighting to regain his footing.

‘She’s this powerful!’ He was at least forty minor worlds strong, same as her. But their wills were not comparable.

‘They weren’t just rumors. She really awakened her true will!’

He glanced up, and she was already above him with another gargantuan fist.

“Vergewalk!”

He vanished in a burst of light, reappearing at a distance.

The girl closed the distance again, fist launching.

“Vergewalk!”

But again, he vanished in light and appeared far off.

She hovered in the air, her will flaring violently as she glared down at him. “You would stoop so low.”

The man laughed. “Unfortunately, not all of us are blessed with the talent to awaken a true will. We do what we can.”

She ground her teeth. ‘He’s trying to stall.’

Defeating a god would eject their champions from the game, and end the threat. The longer this drag-out lasted, the greater the danger to her companions.

MHis subordinate is stronger than them.’

She felt the weight of it.

‘I’m sorry for dragging you into this.’

She couldn’t help thinking of the white- haired old man she’d met on the way. She’d insisted he come with them in order to protect him, unaware her mother had sent others after her.

“Ah… look. Looks like it’s coming to an end.”

She snapped her head toward the distant fight. A large man in golden armor held Magnus and her champion by their necks. They struggled and failed to break free.

‘Shit…’

“Let them go!”

Her will flared as she prepared to move, but the man spoke.

“I wouldn’t do that if I were you. Take one more step and he snaps their necks.”

He nodded to the subordinate, who tightened his grip on them.

The girl gritted her teeth and clenched her fists. It grated at her nerves, but…

‘There’s no choice…’

“…Alright. I’ll do it.”

The man smiled. “Go—”

The temperature spiked. The sun’s golden rays bled scarlet as heads snapped up in unison. A figure fell from the heavens and slammed into the ground in a burst of force.

The impact made the earth quake and blasted a hot wave outward, toppling buildings and hurling debris in every direction. A thick haze rolled across the area.

The princess and the other god narrowed their eyes. Others were slower to realize, but they felt it instantly.

A god had appeared. A strong one.

Of everyone present, only Magnus let out a relieved sigh.

“W-who are you?” the man demanded with a cold voice, but all he received were a pair of crimson eyes flashing through the haze.

Their eyes narrowed. They had just felt him probe them. ‘Who is he?’ the princess wondered wondered, just as the pair of crimson light blurred and vanished.

Before they could fully process it…

“Ar—ark!!”

The man screamed as Atticus clamped his hand over his face. His flesh hissed and smoked; the man thrashed and screamed, but Atticus’s grip was iron.

“Release him.”

Atticus’s voice chilled the champion to the bone. His limbs trembled, but he forced himself to steady.

‘He can’t attack me,’ the champiom thought. The newcomer was clearly a god, which meant he couldn’t be struck directly. Still, the man glowered and tightened his hold on Magnus and the woman.

“You first.”

“I won’t repeat myself.”

The temperature spiked again and the god howled as his face began to melt under the unbearable heat. He tried to gather his will, but it failed, collapsing beneath Atticus’s scorching presence.

“D-don’t listen to him, Iona! L-let him release me first! O-or—fucking—k-kill them!”

“You heard him.” Iona swallowed. “Release him or I kill them.”

Magnus and the woman groaned as the man’s grip bit down harder.

“Don’t do it!” the princess quickly said. “You’ll lose your leverage if you do.”

She didn’t know who this newcomer was, but she wasn’t going to waste the opening.

But Atticus didn’t even look at her. He stared straight into the subordinate’s eyes, and the man gulped.

“This is what happens if you don’t release him in five seconds.” Atticus shoved the god forward so he faced the captive. “I will kill him and become god of your world. Then I’ll find you and every single person you’ve ever known. Your family, your neighbors, even those you’ve only greeted once.” “I’ll make you watch as I torture and slaughter every one of them until you beg me to die. Choose wisely. You have three seconds left.”

A heavy silence fell.
