Chapter 1164: The Rebirth of the Court (2)
On this day, a cosmos-shaking incident took place in the Great Stellar Chiliocosm: the rebirth of the Court of Myriad Domains.
The Immortal Emperor had returned, and after dealing a heavy blow to the six Gold Immortals who had tried to ambush him, he had used his prodigious might to pull the Court of Myriad Domains out of the Astral Wind region, thus announcing to the world the return of the court.
This act shocked countless people.
The Court of Myriad Domains that had vanished for ten thousand years had reemerged. Nobody knew if this was a blessing or a curse, but they did know that a powerful faction was bound to sweep over the universe.
Whether it was to follow, resist, or spectate, everyone had their own thoughts, but it was certain that this world would no longer be so peaceful.
Once he pulled the court into the void, Yu Cheng merged the Silk Brocade World with the court’s surroundings, sacrificing this treasure to create a perimeter world around the court. This world he called the Immortal Domain, and Yu Cheng was the master of it.
At the same time, Yu Cheng announced that the Immortal Domain would take in all cultivators at or above Violet Palace, promising that this place was bound to have more Immortal power, more resources, and more powerful arts.
This wasn’t bragging. The Court of Myriad Domains had possessed vast resources and treasures, and even after ten thousand years of looting, much of it still remained. As for Immortal energy, that was even simpler. The three slain Gold Immortals were massive sources of Immortal energy. Though they hadn’t died in the court, Yu Cheng simply moved the entire Wangxiu Mountain region into the Immortal Domain. As for arts, that was even easier. As the Immortal Emperor, he possessed far more arts than anyone could imagine, and as a master of the Twelve Great Daos, he could create Immortal Arts at any time.
Finally, Yu Cheng himself was famous, making him the best recruiter. The Titan who had once commanded all the chiliocosm had returned, which was bound to draw admiration from countless cultivators, and at the same time, the return of the court to its glory and dominance was bound to satisfy their desires.
Generous treatment, formidable reputation, and Yu Cheng’s visions of the future drew numerous Immortals. The fame of the Court of Myriad Domains quickly spread, and its strength began to rapidly grow.
Not long afterward, Yu Cheng announced that the year he returned was the first year of the Heavenly Primacy Era, in this fashion announcing to the entire Great Stellar Chiliocosm his status as ruler.
This naturally drew opposition from countless cultivators.
In the third year of Heavenly Primacy, the Stellar Net Gate and Heaven’s Equal Sect joined hands with the 72 sects of Vast Wilderness and the Thirty-Three Heavens of the chiliocosm, creating the Vast Wilderness Alliance, attacking the Immortal Domain with a force several times greater.
This battle lasted for nearly a hundred days, but the result was completely unexpected. The Stellar Net Gate and Heaven’s Equal Sect once more suffered a grievous defeat despite their absolute advantage, with the Ageless Child dying in battle.
This was because a force of a hundred-some Immortals had attacked the Vast Wilderness Alliance’s rear at the most intense moment of the battle, ten-some Boundless Gold Immortals among them.
So many Immortals appearing at once knocked the Vast Wilderness Alliance completely off its balance.
Only then did people realize that there had been far more than 128 people who had followed Yu Cheng into hibernation. Many of them had remained hidden and continued to wait for Yu Cheng’s summons. These were his true reinforcements, his trump card on the battlefield.
The defeat of the Vast Wilderness Alliance greatly weakened the resistance against Yu Cheng. Yu Cheng’s reputation soared to the heavens, and the Court of Myriad Domains became a sacred land for cultivators, its fame spreading throughout the cosmos.
In the 12th year of Heavenly Primacy, Yu Cheng dispatched Reverend Deep Sea and Godhead Vast Universe to lead an Immortal army against the Vast Wilderness Continent, targeting the Stellar Net Gate and Heaven’s Equal Sect, forcing all the sects of the Vast Wilderness Continent to either join the court or perish.
More and more sects joined the court, and the power of the two sects was greatly challenged, but they could only yield.
In the 28th year of Heavenly Primacy, the two major sects led the remaining sects in a decisive battle with the court’s army, even laying down a Heaven Earth Net Formation. But Yu Cheng had long anticipated this and personally killed the Stellar Net Gate’s Starlight Divine Lord. The two sects had no choice but to give up on their main bases and retreat to the Seven Extinction Mountains Immortal Realm, relying on the Starlight Execution Immortal Formation to protect themselves. The court’s Immortal army besieged the Seven Extinction Mountains for seventy years with no progress.
In the 99th year of Heavenly Primacy, Yu Cheng personally intervened, first laying the Star Cycle Formation to counteract the enemy formation and then using the Xuanyuan Sword’s divine might to tear it open, breaking the defenses. The two sects were forced to gather their remaining forces and retreat to the Merak Domain, thus completely giving up on the Vast Wilderness Continent.
In the 120th year of Heavenly Primacy, the Court of Myriad Domains eliminated the last resistance in the Vast Wilderness Continent, completing the unification of this most important domain of the Great Stellar Chiliocosm.
In the 121st year of Heavenly Primacy, Yu Cheng announced that all worlds of the Great Stellar Chiliocosm needed to submit to the Court of Myriad Domains, and all worlds that submitted needed to establish teleportation formations linking to the Immortal Domain. When a new Immortal ascended, they could use these teleportation formations to travel directly to the Immortal Domain.
This announcement once more provoked various existences within the chiliocosm…
————————————————————
The Immortal Domain.
This was a vast world, brimming with Immortal energy. It comprised seven small worlds—the Silk Brocade World, the Cloud Diagram World, the Vast Frontier, the Ice Lotus, the Pine Jungle, and the Jade Desert World—as well as 16 Immortal Realms, 32 paradises, and 86 blessed lands. These all had their own individual Daos, but Yu Cheng had brought them all together and merged them into a single world, creating an independent domain that floated above the Vast Wilderness World.
This was a large domain made entirely by cultivators. This was not unheard of, since small worlds developed to the maximum would become domains, but there had never been one of this size.
But this was not even the Immortal Domain’s final form.
On the edge of the Immortal Domain, cultivators were continuing to pour in resources to expand it. To expand a world into the endless void was like an island trying to expand into the ocean, each step requiring a massive investment.
The rainbow Astral Winds that had once protected the Vast Wilderness had now become the protective Astral Winds of this world instead. Using his supreme might to make the power of nature serve him, even creating nature itself, was the finest example of Yu Cheng’s divine power, letting everyone understand the grandeur and extravagance of this undertaking.
The weakest cultivator participating in the construction was at Celestial Heart. Although the Immortal Domain only recruited cultivators at Violet Palace or above, this only referred to official members. The Immortal Domain also permitted cultivators of lower realms to serve as menial labor. While these people lived in the Immortal Domain, they were its lowest class.
In the center of the Immortal Domain was a majestic palace.
Those ruins that had slumbered in the Astral Winds for ten thousand years had been restored to their former glory. The shattering had made the court much smaller, but more than one hundred and twenty years of development had repaired much of the damage. For this purpose, the Immortals of the court had scoured the heavens for resources, and even now, the restoration work was ongoing. Like the Immortal Domain, it was still expanding.
Through the gates of the palace, past magnificent edifice after edifice, one would finally come upon a majestic hall.
This towering building was made entirely from rare metals, and carved all over with formations that flashed with a profound light. This was the core of the palace, the Hall of Myriad Immortals.
Leading up to the hall was a staircase made of one hundred thousand bricks of Gentle Incense Jade, consisting of 999 steps in all.
Stationed on the steps were 108 Heavenly Soldiers, each one at Soul Transformation.
These people would have had great status in the world below, surpassing that of mortal kings, but could only serve as door guards here.
Up the 999 steps was the Polar Star Gate.
Guarding the Polar Star Gate were four Celestial Generals, each one at Violet Palace.
Through the gate was the principal hall of the Hall of Myriad Immortals.
Outside the main hall, Immortal trees were planted in two rows, and Immortal birds flitted to and fro. The inside of the hall was as big as a city, able to hold ten million people, no matter how large their true bodies were.
At the very back of the hall was a jade throne around which nine dragons were coiled, shining with countless Dao Runes.
Yu Cheng sat on this throne, and under him were a hundred-some Immortals. Despite their number, they exuded the might of ten million people, filling the hall with their presence. There were even body cultivators among them, their true forms towering within the hall. Even so, their auras could not match Yu Cheng.
This entire hall was enveloped in Yu Cheng’s aura, not just because he was strong, but also because the throne enhanced it.
Seated upon the throne, Yu Cheng surveyed his subordinates and said, “The establishment of the three ministries is decided. My cherished retainers, is there any other matter to report on?”
A white-haired elder stepped forward and bowed. “Your Majesty, recently, you decreed for someone to investigate the Rosecloud Domain. We have recently received a report.”
“Oh?” Yu Cheng raised an eyebrow.
After possessing Tang Jie’s avatar, Yu Cheng could no longer receive any memories from Tang Jie’s side. Tang Jie himself, however, would be extremely familiar with his situation. After all, his remnant soul was still lurking in his body. This left Yu Cheng constantly troubled, for the presence of Tang Jie’s avatar soul meant that many of his secrets would be exposed to the original Tang Jie, which was sowing the seeds for many future disasters.
This made Yu Cheng determined to kill Tang Jie, not merely because of his connection to the Martial Lord, but because he could not tolerate anyone who could pry into his secrets at any time—even though he had pried into several hundred years of Tang Jie’s life already.
The situation had compelled him to deal with the Stellar Net Gate and Heaven’s Equal Sect first, but now that both sects were on the verge of defeat, he was finally free to turn his attention to the Rosecloud Domain.
“What is the situation?” Yu Cheng asked.
“They have already embarked on the path of the stars,” the elder replied, giving a rough summary of the Rosecloud Domain’s circumstances.
“Hmph, a mantis trying to stop a carriage!” Yu Cheng angrily grunted.
He naturally knew why the Rosecloud Domain would take the path of the stars. It seemed that the Rosecloud Domain had no plans to submit and was intent on putting up a stubborn resistance. This was also evident from the fact that the teleportation formation in the Five Origins Estate had been destroyed.
After some thought, Yu Cheng said, “It’s time to get rid of this problem. Warheaven Wolf, lead the Gale Army over.”
“Heaven Wolf obeys.”
Warheaven Wolf exited the hall.
Once Warheaven Wolf was gone, Yu Cheng sighed in relief. With a Boundless Gold Immortal personally leading an army, the Rosecloud Domain would be doomed no matter what tricks it had.
He dismissed the Immortals with a wave.
Yu Cheng sat alone on his divine throne, a hand propping up his chin, his eyes half-closed in a state between slumber and thought.
After some time, Yu Cheng suddenly opened his eyes, a sharp gleam within them.
